This is different than what I was expecting. A corner spot that gives an eclectic and rusty decor. With the miss match chair and off let like the decor. But it works well for this place. The staff is friendly and attentive. And this is what I would say was the right price for what the portions are. I went with the mushrooms spinach omelet with hash browns and a side of sausage. The Pat La Frieda Veggie Burger is soooo good (first time eating it); the ingredients fit so well together; the Avocado texture is so dry and smooth (which I like more so than slimy and wet), the tomatoes are full and juicy (tasting fresher than out from heat though, cooking tomatoes is important), the bun is puffy (nice and full of flavor, holds well with the ingredients, yum!), and the salad is so good (especially with the sauce) post meal, to me (hefty-healthy-light finish). read more

I am usually a big fan but this was my first time at the Summit location. First of all, the service was very dissappointing. The poor couple next to us must have been there for hours, as they were seated before us, ordered shortly before we got our food, and they had to ask about their food shortly before we paid and left. As for pur own service, it seemed like every staff member was trying not to look in our direction as it was very difficult to ask questions and flag someone down for the check. Came here for lunch on a Sunday, the place was packed...always a good sign. We were told there was a 45 minute wait so we strolled around downtown Summit and to our surprise the wait was less than 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and not overbearing. I wanted something a bit light so I ordered the grilled cheese. Delicious. A combo of American and Cheddar cheese on that glorious bread was a perfect combination. If there was any negative-it could have used another slice of cheese. The waffle fries were crispy and my friend had no complaints with the hamburger, and he's finicky about his burgers! The Morristown location disabled their waitlist once it hit an hour ... ironic, but Summit was able to seat our party of 7 instantly. Plenty of indoor and outdoor places. A very generous portion of well fried pickle chips came with a spicy Russian dressing to start. My date and I had American cheeseburgers, both arrived cooked to our desires-not easy to do with double 1/4 lb patties. Why not one 1/2 lb burger though? Her regular fries were the shoestring variety, mine were waffle. Not mentioned on the menu, my waffle fries were dusted with a spice blend-not bad, but I'd have preferred them plain. Committed Pig was suggested since we were meeting around breakfast/brunch time and had good veggie options for my friend and good burger options for me. The setting was like a combination of a pancake house and chic burger bar. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday-schools had the day off, but we got seated pretty quickly and I looked at the menu, but saw 'Chicago style' on the menu under pork rolls. WTF is a pork roll? My Jersey friend said that it's a local sandwich and it was worth trying out despite the fact that she was not a carnivore anymore. I tried to Chicago style, because it seemed interesting to marry up another type of processed pork product with the traditional hot dog toppings. I thought it was all right, the onion was sliced into rounds and not diced, which made eating it a bit of a mess and there was too much relish or not enough celery salt. Service at the table was better but not enough to add a star. The place is loud. Like, l o u d. Talk about bad acoustics. But also because it's a veeeery kid friendly restaurant. If you're looking for adult time, this is not a place for you. Food was disappointing. I would think with the handheld ordering and paying devices it should make them more mobile. I went inside and mentioned no one had come by our table and within a few minutes we had a waitress - she was friendly. I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet. My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelet. We both ordered a side of fresh fruit that was not so fresh. The food came out pretty quickly. The food was average. My omelet was a little greasy. For the price I wish there could be an additional vegetable or something more exciting. The ground surrounding the tables was gross, silverware and food just sitting there from earlier in the day; desperately needing some attention and clean up. The atmosphere was calm. There did not seem to be any stress. However, there was absolutely no one to meet us and multiple waiters walked by us without even acknowledging our presence. We were finally seated and rushed to a table near by and the menus thrown at us. Like, literally thrown. We waited patiently to order and after 20 mins of not seeing anyone around or approach us, we finally get someone who promptly begins with a "whadda ya want." She proceeds to cut us off mid sentence every time and is gone before we could talk about the sides we wanted. Yeesh. We were hungry so we decided to tough it out. Big mistake. The food was greasy and hot on the outside but cold on the inside. It was bland, like someone was petrified of salt. and on top of that, all sloppily thrown together. But after all that, I'll tell ya, they sure were eager to give us the bill! They started clearing our table even before we were finished. I mean, we clearly had half a plate of food left each and someone started to take it away without asking. I had to physically block them to put it back. No apology but I got a real nice eye roll. Overall, it was just an unfortunate experience. Perhaps it was a really bad day for them but to take it out on a customer is unnecessary and unprofessional. Welcome to another episode of Good Eats with D lol. I was super hungry and wanted to try a new restaurant and came across The Commited Pig. I loved the staff and the menu choices. We were seated next to this old timey photo of a little boy that looked like he was staring at me while I ate, but whatever, the food was GOOD! I decided to try the wings at the recommendation of the server and I am sooooo glad I did. The dry rub was some of the best I have had! The wings were tender with a good SNAP bite. The celery was fresh ( yes, I eat the celery and carrots that come with my wings!) The half and half ( half lemonade and half ice tea for those who don't know) was great! Not too sweet at all, just how I like it. The spot is on a corner of a Main Street so parking is a sketchy, but it was well worth it. We ordered spinach artichoke appetizer to share and I ordered the avocado grilled cheese sandwich with waffle fries. The artichoke dip came with bread , carrots and celery which tasted good. The avocado cheese sandwich however was too cheesy for my liking and quite bland in taste. I would have ordered veggie burger but that was also very bland without spices according to my friends. I've eaten here for breakfast, brunch and lunch and they have a variety of options depending on whether you're in the mood for sweet or savory. I do have to say it gets really busy during the weekend so try to get there early if you're willing to wait, but if you're really hungry, maybe come back another time because the wait could be tiresome.
