I stopped by here with a coworker a few evenings ago. I was in dire need of a pick-me-up, and fortunately I came across this CB location. Parking can be hard to find at times, because it is street parking. We came at night time during the rain, so there weren't too many people out competing for parking spots at the time. This coffee bean location is clean and efficient. I ordered my cold brew, and got it in less than a minute. The staff was friendly as well. The folks here were mostly early holiday shoppers looking to stay warm over a cup of coffee. It was a pretty chill experience. read more

This is a warm, cozy spot at night if you want to work on your laptop or get a nice drink. I got a cafe mocha and enjoyed that this plaza still has holiday decorations and projections on the wall. The staff was nice and I didn't have to wait long. Note- this is a small location read more

Only giving 4 stars because they have a green loading zone out front that you have to pay to park in. The signs are a little confusing and a parking enforcement person hides out there and waits for unsuspecting people picking up their order to park not realizing they still have to pay. It's a $59 ticket and they're really good at swooping in and leaving the ticket fast while you're distracted with picking up your order. Be sure to pay or park in the Macys covered parking to be on the safe side. read more

The outside area for seating is filthy with pigeon droppings all over the place and dog poop. The coffee was not a representation of coffee bean, to strong and grinds in coffee. read more

Walking distance from Macy's Pasadena Plaza. The shop is a bit on the small size.Seating inside the shop is very limited but they do have a nice covered patio area where you can sit and enjoy your drink. Staff are very friendly and helpful. read more

Love this place. Currently my go-to drink is the cold brew midnight mocha madness. The staff is very friendly and always get the order right. CBTL's pastries are so much tastier than Starbucks. The muffins are moist and delicious. My fav is the, not at all like dry bread, jalapeno cheese bagel. Yummy! read more

This place is a little further south on Lake and so it doesn't get as much foot traffic as some of the other coffee houses. It is pretty good and you don't have to wait too long. The coffee and the mochas are good but nothing too special or unique. read more

The best Coffee Bean in Pasadena, one of the better coffee shops on Lake. Staff super polite and maintain a great, clean space since reopening. Great selection of beans, teas and vanilla/chocolate powders to choose from so you can take them home and stay there. Grateful to have them open during such a stressful time. read more

Review 4 The addition of the Coffee Bean to Pasadena @Lake was great, this location give you indoor and patio seating with free WiFi as usual. The staff are always happy and fun, they have a great chemistry that ends with a fantastic drink and service. I prefer to sit outside even in cold weather, the patrons walking on Lake are great and very polite; it's another breed of respect around here that makes this location my first choice. The patio has new seating and it's very comfortable, this summer is going to be great! Parking is metered so don't take a chance, its only $1. You can also park in the adjacent building or behind the shopping center across the street and walk over. They make my drinks here perfect every time! I go in and out of there happy. They open early and have lots of different pastries to choose from! I love their blueberry muffins and their Belgium Waffles with Nutella! yummy!! Free parking is at Borders (RIP :( ). Very convenient because most of the parking places in Pasadena requires you to pay or park at the meters. My go-to drink here are always the Dark Chocolate Latte or the English Breakfast Tea latte. Inside seating is limited, but they have lots of tables outside. Free wifi is a plus! :D read more

This is a great location for working or studying, free parking in the structure behind macys and plenty of outdoor seating. I didn't check if it is a hot spot, but I imagine they have to be. If you love iced coffee or frozen coffee drinks, they make the best! The sugar free vanilla tastes awesome and everything is made with non-fat milk... they also have healthy snacks in the fridge like cottage cheese and fruit.. it is centrally located to a bunch of other shops too.. read more

This is probably one of the best coffee beans I have ever been to! The employees are so kind and friendly and they always welcome the customers with a smile. When I ask for recommendations on what to order, they never disappoint! I always leave with a smile on my face! If anyone is looking for a hot drink I would totally recommend the vanilla latte with cinnamon on the top! Amazing! (P.s. Way better than Starbucks!). read more

as an LA Native but now living in NorCal, there are certain things i definitely miss about LA: the beaches, celebrity sightings, the weather (today it was 75 and sunny, as usual) and of course, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. You Angelinos are spoiled as Coffee Beans are everywhere...up north we only have 3. and they are all in SF proper. And none have easy parking (which is typical for SF). I'm a SBUX drinker if i have to be, but Coffee Bean has my heart. My Friend Sophia turned me on to my regular drink: regular non-fat english breakfast tea latte. no whip. i know everyone loves the ice blendeds, but i'm not in high school and it's not THAT hot out...just get one and you'll see what i mean. At this location, i got my usual, grabbed a 'Los Angeles Magazine', sat outside and couldn't be happier. Plus, this one is right next to the shops on Lake Ave so if i were so inclined, i could have walked around for hours. Always clean. Always delicious. I just wish they had more in NorCal! read more

NOT CLOSED! This location is definitely alive and kicking. The indoor area of the store is pretty small actually, but there are a few tables and outlets for us laptoppers. The outdoor seating area is probably 2-3 times the size of the store itself. Big points for being right next to a free parking garage (entrance is just south of the store on Lake... look for the Macy's sign). Posted signs say 3 hours max, but whatever, right? Oh yeah... the coffee's good too, and the store is well-ventilated. Also, the prices are inline with other Coffee Beans, so why are there 3 $$$ signs in the ratings?? read more

Yes, still a chain shop but also one of if not the better outdoor sitting areas for a coffee shop in Pasadena. My to go is the Ultimate with soy and combination mocha/vanilla. Free parking at Borders makes for easy stop with Traders Joes near by walk. read more

What a negative experience! Mind you this was not first time at a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I asked for 2 pumps of vanilla syrup and was met by a short condescending response from Nelly the manager saying that I mean vanilla powder. After saying no I mean syrup, the powder has dairy and I'm allergic. She said that was for cold brew and I said that's what I would like. I don't have to give you play she continued to be short with me and with the poor guy who was working at the time. There are plenty of place to get coffee, and enough negativity and stress in the world. I will make sure that I go else where, in the future! read more

I usually don't leave reviews but I feel compelled to give this place a five star. Their Scottish Breakfast ice tea latte is AMAZING! Best latte I ever had. I like how the ice are chopped and fine, which don't take away too much drinks. I also highly recommend their App, you get rewards and offers once in a while. I used to be a regular customer at Starbucks but now I'm completely hooked to Coffee Bean. Keep the good work up! read more

I don't usually review many chain stores or restaurants. But we had a coupon for Coffee Bean and while we were in Pasadena area, we stopped by and tried out this place. I'm glad we did. It's quieter and nicer inside then in many chain coffee shops, way calmer, the customer service was really good, very nice people who work here. We got Blended Ice Mochas and were really good, smooth. They also have a nice, big outdoor area, which we picked to enjoy our coffees. Relaxing place for a chain coffee shop! read more

Don't usually come to CBTL but there's nothing to complain about here. The service was quick and efficient. The coffee taste good and the seating area allows you to chill and go on their WiFi. The place is a bit small with only a handful of tables inside but luckily, they have a patio with heaters (BRRR!) so you can enjoy the "outdoors" and not freeze. I got a plain and simple light roast and it's what I expected. No issues. There is a wide assortment of coffee drinks and backed goods. Even though this place is a chain, it has a more small business feel that Starbucks. If you got some time, take a breather here. The ambiance is more relaxed than Starbucks and you get the same quality of drinks/food/service. read more

Been trying Coffee Bean as my alternative to Starbucks for a while. Ow due to multiple gift cards. I find this location to be very chill to relax on a nice day on the patio or just for your morning coffee (tea in my world). The baristas are pretty friendly and the small library that you borrow and even take books is a nice touch. read more

Maybe it's because I'm an ornery sonofagun, but I don't like Starbucks. Never have, probably never will. Expensive burnt coffee just ain't my thing. That probably makes me a Coffee Bean person by default. I certainly prefer their coffee, although it's just as foolishly expensive as the coffee at that other place. There's more flavor to it, and it's not nearly as harsh, so you don't need a ton of milk to make it drinkable. This branch of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is pretty small inside, so it can get uncomfortable and crowded even at not busy hours. I'm not even sure there's a table to sit at inside the store, although I can't imagine wanting to sit crammed in with people walking back and forth all the time. They have a patio with seating, however, and it's not bad having your drink out there. I'd rather have a donut than a pastry (see my review of Winchell's down the street), so I can't report on the eats. I'm also usually not a fan of fruity sweet tea, but on a 100 degree day, I discovered that their blood orange sweet tea is very refreshing. read more

Interior design and layout were cool sleek and spacious, respectively. Atmosphere was nice with plenty of natural light. Young staff were nice. They have front outdoor seats for those who prefer some view. I had a Mint Iced Coffee and it's complete whoppers! If Sauron exists this drink is perfect for him and his minions. It's blithering pathetic drink; there was not a good balance of elements in this mint IC. Drink was not brewed smoothly, not refreshing, banal plastic cup, and on top of it über milky. All I had was a tiny sip and I quivered. And I knew that it was a subpar-mediocre iced coffee. The price does not reflect the quality, I threw it away. No wonder the rating was utterly garbage. I suggest they overhaul their drinks. Overall, I will never come back again. And waste my resources. Not sure why folks enjoy this kind of iced drink.
