Quick service, friendly faces, and delicious tea! That is the trifecta. So glad I stopped in and would recommend this spot

I stopped by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Lake Ave in Pasadena and tried their Tiramisu Cream Iced Latte. It was a great choice! The drink was smooth, sweet, and tasted like tiramisu - yum! The place was clean. They have tables inside and outside to relax and enjoy a drink, or have some work done. They sell a lot of merch and have gift sets. The girl who took my order was friendly and nice. Overall, I had a pleasant experience visiting this location and trying a new drink.

03/09/2025 Missed the daylight savings freebie offered by Wescom Financial. It's for the Spring Forward morning pick me up picking up the tab for SoCal customers. The girl taking my order checked with the manager and said the offer has been reached it's limits. I ordered a dark chocolate blended drink anyway because I wanted to get a drink. It's a small cozy place here with lots of shops around the area. Seems a bit pricey for a blended drink than some of other places I visit.

I stopped by this Coffee Bean location last night, 2/5/2024, for an impromptu late(r) night drink run. Drink: Hot Large Winter Dream Latte (Free on your bday ;) Description from their site "Drinking a Winter Dream Tea Latte is like basking in the rich, complex aromas of the holidays. Jolts of cinnamon, honey, cloves, and vanilla blanket you in a festive warmth. It tastes like waking up on a cozy winter morning and running down the stairs to see perfectly wrapped gifts under the tree." I haven't had a winter dream in a hot minute, and boy did they make this drink suUuper hot. Just be careful! I ended up waiting a little bit before drinking, and it was perfect. The drink reminds me of a chai late mixed with vanilla - it is more on the sweeter side so keep that in mind. CB uses powder for their drink, which dissolves perfectly in the hot latte. Customer Service: The girl who helped me was so nice. She helped answer some questions with patience and happily took my order. She was extremely friendly and I appreciated that. Seating: Indoor and outdoor seating are available. It was pouring rain yesterday so we stayed inside during our short visit! Pro Tip: I used to frequent Coffee Bean a lot and always use their rewards app! If you can create a free account and just the code, you can actually get a free drink! Get a free drink at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf after your first visit using the app by signing up with code DianaL7052. Sign up now: http://coffeebeanrewards.com/refer/DianaL7052 I was so happy to use my free birthday reward yesterday (which is valid for 3 days unlike starbies that's only valid the day of). All in all, I'd highly consider coming back if I'm in the area and want some Coffee Bean goodness.

My wife and I stopped by this Coffee Bean today because she wanted her ice blended mocha from here. We came during the afternoon time so they weren't busy at all. The person working the cashier was very helpful on telling my wife to use the app so she'll get points. Once my wife signed in on the Coffee Bean apps she has some rewards to use so she was able to upgrade her drink to a large for free. They did not take long to make her drink and she was very satisfied with it.

Well Def a gorgeous day outside. Very peaceful. Inside reg cafe vibes , pungent coffee aroma and loud conversations over blenders .. The cashier was assisting me and got my tea bag out of a jar with hands that just touched the register.. I kindly asked brought that to his attention.. he washed his hands made my tea then came back to register - thank you for the immediate self correction. Babes drink looks yummy. I like my tea bland lol hot water over a bag. I heard the bathroom had no tissue and low soap. Def not okay for a coffee shop .. sigh

So I come here every morning after I drop my son off at daycare. Typically the baristas are friendly, they don't typically seem to enjoy being there, but they aren't rude to guests, which is greatly appreciated. However, this morning I had an unfortunate experience with an individual who was completely dismissive of my presence. After waiting for sometime, I decided to ask the barista for my tea (mistake on part) and he was visibly irritated and annoyed that I would disturb him while he was heating up food. He muttered an "Oh" and proceeded to pull out a medium or small cup to make my tea (I had ordered a large tea). When I had asked him if it was a large, he said nothing and proceeded to sloppily pour the previously made tea into a larger cup, and then add more water. Normally they double cup the teas, but this time he chose not to. And as a result, my tea was dripping, and the bottom of the cup was soaked with tea water. I also should mention that his interactions with the other patrons in the Coffee Bean was different than his interaction with mine. I have never met this person before, but he seemed immediately irritated with my presence. And I should preface that I was not rude. I greeted him with a good morning and had my app ready to scan after I had placed my order. Not sure if he was in a bad mood or just does not like my people like me, but this kind of behavior is extremely unacceptable and shouldn't be condoned. If you don't want to work there then don't or if you don't want to serve people like me, then ask another coworker to take the order so you don't have to interact with people who look like me. It's pretty simple. The moral of the story here is don't take your poor attitude out on unsuspecting patrons. It isn't fair. Because I can't give negative stars, I give this spot 1 star. Lastly, while there were three people working, the one that I had an unfortunate encounter with was a male who was about 5'5 to 5'6, with a 5 o'clock shadow and curly hair with what appeared to be bleach blonde tips under a coffee bean hat.

Iced Matcha Latte with Almond Milk
    Sheury S.

I'm typically very skeptical of coffee chain matcha, but CBTL's Iced Matcha Latte is a consistently delicious, reliable option! I love their iced matcha with almond milk- it's perfectly sweet and the matcha flavor is strong. However, I wanted to point out the wonderful people who work at this CBTL location! I went in today to redeem my free drink and despite my app having issues, the main cashier was still able to fulfill my order. I'm so grateful for their flexibility and kindness, and wanted to leave a great review to express my appreciation! Not only are the drinks great, but the workers are kind and the location is well situated with great outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

I liked how this Coffee Bean had outdoor seating with a direct view of a busy part of downtown Pasadena. The inside is actually small and compact, so that outdoor seating is a necessity. My coffee was up to their usual high quality standard. The workers smiled at me when I walked in. Beware of parking though. Its all paid parking on the street, and if you are just picking up something to go like me, you'll need to park close to half a mile away in one of the residential subdivisions and then walk there, which is what I did. As far as I know, this Coffee Bean doesn't have their own parking lot.

I ordered an Iced Mango Matcha Latte and overall it is a very good drink to enjoy in a hot summer Southern California day. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located in a great area, gentleman who prepared my order was super friendly and my Iced Mango Matcha Latte was on point.

Forget about this place. People work like they don't want to work here. Go to Starbucks or Peets! People are way... more welcoming.

On a Friday morning was not too busy at 8:30am and waited for 5-10 minutes to order my Americano. But it was a wait that didn't feel like minutes, rather it felt like seconds. The warm atmosphere of a modern Coffee Bar with minimal decoration and soft music playing in the background with the soft morning sun gleaming a tad through the window made from some cozy and cinematic vibes. My coffee came out and tasted so smooth and heart warming. It was hot but not too hot, just enough to get the cold out of my hands and heart. I sat outside where there were some chairs and enjoyed the peace of a Friday morning. Definitely a 10/10 morning for me. Parking is relatively easy and free around the neighborhood and plaza across the street, so if your nearby, please come through and enjoy a cup and relax!

The crisp taste of well-brewed coffee and chai is refreshing. (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment. Also, this is a "Laptop Free Establishment." They have no available electrical outlets and no customer internet.) I arrived at Two Kids (South Pasadena) on Tuesday (around 12:28PM). Parking is free and available. Two Kids (South Pasadena) is located across from South Pasadena City Hall. There's a competitive, free lot in the rear; it's a "4 Hour Parking Limit." Also, there's available, competitive free street parking. Staff is very mellow, professional, and respectful. Staff politely answered all my questions, and Staff felt very low stress. This location is surprisingly popular, and Staff easily breaks into friendly conversation. My drink took about three minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Espresso w/ Milk & Chai ($6.75 - Iced). The drink is very underwhelming, but it's 1000% better than any chain coffee joint. The Espresso w/ Milk & Chai had a light enduring caffeine, and its flavor is very basic and simple. I would not drive a long distance for these drinks, but if I lived in the immediate area, this business is an easy spot to incorporate into a daily routine. It's affordable and good enough. On ambiance, Two Kids (South Pasadena) happily embraces its "just good enough" features. It lacks many basic amenities; there's no restroom, no customer internet, and no electrical outlets. They proudly have MANY little signs proclaiming how it's a "laptop free establishment." The location is also small; there's about two counter tables and three tiny stool tables. However, Two Kids (South Pasadena) is comfortable. I especially appreciated the air purifier and the strong ventilation. The place felt airy and refreshing. Also, the stereo system is very clear and with chill music. They even had one tiny bottle of hand sanitizer by the counter. It's also very animal friendly since I saw customers walk inside with their dogs on the leash. Overall, Two Kids (South Pasadena) feels built to serve the local community. It's not an impressive spot, but there's glimpses of passion for locals. If you live nearby Two Kids (South Pasadena), I recommend. It's not bad at all. 4.3 out of 5
