The atmosphere is warm, pleasant and inviting. I like staring at the large old world map on the wall. The aroma in this place is dynamic. One day it smells like fresh brewed coffee, the next a mix of cinnamon rolls, the next cheesecakes or even chocolate chip cookies out of the oven. Let me break it down Drinks I love coffee and they have a great house blend that is on the light roast side and easy to drink. They have a rotating med/dark roast that is single origin. I personally enjoy variety. They have excellent espresso drinks. Ask for secret menu item, the non-milk latte. They do something with the ice and it comes out frothy similar to a latte in texture but just straight espresso and water. I appreciate that they make their own syrups. For example, the pumpkin spice latte tastes more homemade than Starbucks. They use real vanilla beans to make their vanilla syrup. I like the 30 hour cold brew too. It has a very strong flavor without the bitterness of some iced coffees. I also like how they freeze coffee to make coffee ice cubes for their iced coffee so it doesn't water it down. Some days I want something other than coffee and they have the best smoothies hands down. Fresh squeezed lemonade is great as well. Enough about drinks let's talk desserts They make these chubby cookies that are to die for. A little hard on the edge but softer as you get to the center. The cinnamon rolls and coffee cake donuts should be a national treasure. I love that they get their bagels from 513 Nagel Co. It's a local place that makes specialty bagels, like a pistachio apricot bagel yumm. Let's talk cheesecakes If I could try them all I would. It is hard to choose sometimes as I've seen 20 different flavors the last time I was there. I like how in store it's always rotating through their 70+ flavors. I'm a big fan of trying different things. Some people complained about the size, but I think it is perfect. Instead of getting a large slice like at the cheescake factory I like the variety. I like that I can get 2 or 3 different flavors and not feel caged in to eat a huge slice of the same thing. Maybe I want a little triple chocolate that is rich so one cheesecake cupcake is enough but I also want something with berries like a white chocolate raspberry or something with peanut butter like the reeses explosion. I think this place is a diamond in the rough. Can't wait to try them all. Pros - variety with their rotating cheesecakes - clean place to sit and work on a laptop - staff have always been very nice - dynamic with drinks and cheescakes - small business and woman owned Cons - no public bathroom because it's technically a bakery, so you obviously can't walk through the kitchen while they're working. There is a library across the street with a public bathroom - can be a little warm inside when they are baking, but again, it's really a bakery with some seating - since the drinks are all handcrafted and everything is fresh, it might take longer than you're typical coffee shop Overall I great hidden gem in Madisonville. I am always looking for new places to get coffee and was excited to find out about The Cheesecakery. They make their own syrups for lattes! So unique. However, they aren't very consistent. Every time either my drink or my boyfriend's is made wrong. Their cheesecake is pretty good though. The cheesecake brownie is my favorite. Very rich! I went here for the first time today and everybody was kind and very informative with any question I had. I had the buckeye latte iced and it was a fantastic drink! A wonderful, homey little bakery and coffee house with a rotating cast of delicious hand-made mini cheesecakes! I tied the fresh strawberry and my husband had the M&M- both were delightful! I also had a great latte (made with local beans) and my husband absolutely demolished a fruit smoothie. There is local artwork on the walls that is for sale- so slow down and check it out! But the real star of the show at The Cheesecakery is owner and lead baker - Liz! She is a ball of sunshine and an incredible talent in the kitchen. This lady orders heavy sacks of flour and white sugar thru door dash and doesn't tip. Amazing that they run a business where gratuity is welcome but when it comes to taking care of those who take care of them it seems that they are too good to do so. However, the only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because they're wait times are WAY too long. Only 2 people behind the counter most days when there is a line, especially in the mornings. Our order was placed and paid for in person with the owner and we were assured that it would be ready for pickup on Saturday after 10 a.m. Turns out when we went to pick it up not only did the shop associate have no clue what we were talking about since the order hadn't been fulfilled. 12/10 experience for me. I got a bagel sandwich with egg cheese and goetta. So many restaurants don't even serve goetta (which makes no sense in Cincinnati, but I digress). I got an iced latte and also left with 4 cheesecake cupcakes. I got lemon curd, strawberry almond, and 2 Oreo cheesecakes. THEY ARE ALL SOOOOOO GOOD. You can tell they're homemade. The girl who rang me up and made all my stuff was so warm and we had a great conversation while she hand-prepared my sandwich and my food. I actually sat and watched her cook my eggs and my goetta. And the latte was incredible. They have milk alternatives :) such a great experience I cannot wait to go back. I have been dying to try this bakery for ages, and finally got the opportunity. I wasn't expecting much considering the COVID shutdown orders, but it was indeed open and packed with sweets. I got a half dozen cheese cups and Oh. My. God... I am in trouble, because I will be visiting this establishment constantly. There is a great selection, and though I can't comment on the atmosphere as the dine-in area was obviously closed, I am guessing it is a great place to have a coffee and chill with a decadent sweet. Stopped into this little gem this afternoon to pickup some cheesecakes. I was completely surprised by the quaint and rustic interior. The cheesecake selection was a wide variety. We got 6 different flavors. We have sampled 3 so far including: white chocolate pumpkin, hot fudge and peanut butter. All three were smooth and luscious. Went with my sister and we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 mint lemonades slushes. We were told they didnt have enough lemonade to make both slushes so my sister ordered a iced London fog tea instead. Seemed odd to be out of lemonade before noon when it's a listed speciality item. It took over 20 minutes for my sister to get her drink I think because they forgot about it. So we watched 4 other customers who came in after us get their smoothies before her drink. Then it was obvious they didnt know how to make her drink as they had to look it up in a book. We finally got her drink and left and hers was warm when it was supposed to be iced. It just seems like the workers are in over their heads and dont know the menu well. The cashier who helped was very friendly and I felt bad she was stressed out but the other two workers seemed very unhelpful and never even smiled as they handed us our items. We went home and iced her tea down and the sandwiches were good. Just think they need to be prepared to start their day with menu items stocked and get some more helpful and friendly employees.
