10/10 service and as someone with severe food allergies I felt at ease the moment the server introduced themselves. The food was incredible. Oysters were fresh and steak is top 3 best I have ever had. Love the vibe and staff was amazing. This is your sign to get a reservation!

WOW -- my favorite meal in cape cod. Highly recommend ! This place is upscale but the service was so friendly it didn't feel super stuffy. The highlight of our meal was definitely the short rib agnolotti -- the flavors were insanely good. I also loved the lobster ravioli and the octopus. We felt the tuna tartare was fresh but the dish overall didn't have a ton of flavor. A surprise favorite was the blood orange sorbet we tried in the spur of the moment. This was definitely a highlight meal on our cape cod trip and I do recommend.

What a disappointment. Service was very slow and sloppy, nice guys but slow. I had the chop salad, not good. French onion soup was mediocre. I ordered shrimp scampi, it was ok. My son Ordered a $68 steak, cooked perfect but not great steak. Overall service was slow , food not good, expensive, I won't be back.

Best meal of this year's vacation for us so far. Been to squire, blue fin, captain parkers but this was great in some aspects not all. Kids got the kids steak and mashed potatoes. The menu and waiter neglected to say it's a teriyaki steak....well kids didn't eat it. Mashed potatoes, fantastic. Prime rib excellent everyone felt. Linguini and clams - do not get this. Totally lacking flavor and a very thin sauce. I know this was probably made in a traditional style but two of us got it and would never get it again. My clams were also sandy. Wedge salad was superb but a special. Baked potato and mashed were excellent. Jumbo lump crab hard to mess up was excellent. Overall we'd go back again just adjust how we order some things.

Main Street was nuts, insane, busy, etc. with the holiday, vacationers, visitors, soccer fans for FIFA, etc. It's the Cape! Very nice place... looks like it could have been a church, VFW Hall, or something or another. Found out it was actually a clothier back in the day, and the stained glass and pews were rescues from a church up in Maine. Nice decor, comfortable. Both lunch and dinner menu served in the early afternoon. High volume, but a few empty tables on a long holiday weekend - Friday. A little off of the beaten path, by that I mean it is not directly on Main Street, but located on Chatham Bars Avenue and down the short street a hundred feet or so and on your left. Cold, bottled San Pellegrino with lime and lemon. Started with the raw bar, well worth the short wait! 18 fat, cold, and briney oysters that were shucked to perfection. The Shrimp Cocktail was great too. She had the Floey's Tuna Sandwich, along with the pasta salad; the tuna had capers mixed in which was a very nice touch! I had the broiled scallops and asparagus; an incredible butter/lemon sauce. Both done exceptionally well. Clean facility, plenty of room, and a wicked nice staff too! Truly, a hidden gem and a must visit! No negatives whatsoever!

My husband and I ate at the bar at Pate's last night and we split the burrata and heirloom tomato with watermelon and arugula and it was delicious! I ordered the citrus shrimp scampi and I was presented with a bowl overfilled with a mound of pasta and plump shrimp. I took one bite and all I tasted was lemon, not the freshly squeezed kind, but the kind you got from the plastic lemon in the grocery store. It was inedible and cost $37.00. When they cleared my plate they asked me if I enjoyed my meal and I said no and it could have been improved if they added butter to cut the citrus, some garlic, and white wine. I understand restaurants go through tough times because you lose staff during the high season but your recipes should be followed so your reputation does not suffer.

We sit at the bar and after 5 minutes or so, we place our drink order. So far so good. We then place our app order. Stuffed quahog and the Portugese Littlenecks. Nothing too ground breaking here. Littlenecks cook in about 6 minutes and I am sure the quahog is ready to be popped in the oven on the prep line. 45 minutes later, no apps. Bartender is back in the kitchen 3 times. Still no apps. We get to talking to a local resident next to us who ordered a salad with salmon, and she says that this was her second try at the restaurant as well and no realizes why she never came back. Her salad took about an hour. For a salad... Ok, so now we place dinner. Well we should have just paid at that point and gone to the Squire for a burger cause now we wait another hour for our dinners. Which when they come out are ice cold. Mind you we had baked cod and a pasta dish. Neither of those should take more than 20 minutes to prep. We have now been in this place over 2 hours and didn't get to eat a dinner. What a huge disappointment. Sad thing is this place can get away with bad service because they are attached to an inn in downtown. So people will never stop eating there. But hopefully with a few more bad reviews, they will figure something out or close.

I try to find positive things to say when I write reviews, so I will say that the crab cake was the best thing we ordered. It was crispy on the outside and had a good crab flavor. After that, everything was sad. Including us. Disclaimer: I am from the west coast. It seems like this is an east coast favorite? Or did we just get bad food that day? Chowder was more like a watery soup. Not at all creamy. Had lots of potatoes, making it more like potato soup. Clams in it were ok but the flavor was bland. DIdn't finish. Much preferred the rich taste of the bowl we had in Nantucket, for about the same price. Lobster meat in the roll was tough and disappointing especially after paying so much for it. I eat a lot of lobster rolls and had one the day before in Nantucket that was superb. This was too chewy and not very warm. Didn't finish. Fried clams were not at all what I was expecting, but maybe this is an east/west coast thing again. Very chewy and the breading was very light and not very crisp like you get on the west coast. Didn't finish. French fries were ok but nothing special. Bland. After reading all my Ellen Hilderbrand books we were really looking forward to experiencing Mac's. The hype for this place and strong reviews make me think it's a coastal preference, but for our group of 3 west coast visitors, it was not at all what we expected or were hoping for, especially given the prices.
