Buca's is a great little spot on the Cape. Semi in the middle of nowhere in what looks like a converted house it is a very intimate setting. We were able to snag bar seats on a Saturday the day before. The two appetizers of Burrata - Warm Fresh Mozzarella Burrata, Blistered Cherry Tomatoes, Roast Garlic, Olive Oil, Balsamic Glaze, Crostini and Calamari Fritti - Fried Calamari, Hot Cherry Peppers, Marinara were outstanding. So flavorful and delicious. The pasta courses we ordered were great but here is the one downside, they are huge. Honestly should gotten one more appetizer and one pasta dish split between us. Can be a tight parking lot! Very tasty and a great spot and good value.

This was our first time here and it was such a wonderful experience. The dining room is so pretty with chandeliers and grapevines and clusters of grapes hanging all around. The food was all perfect. We ordered fried fontina, gnocchi with sausage and wild boar bolognese and the Italian wedding cake. We loved everything. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. We will definitely be back!

The Amazing Merluzo!!!

Bucca's is an upscale Italian restaurant nestled in Chatham, Massachusetts--and it checks every box of what I want in a great Italian dining experience. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and romantic, with an authentic Italian vibe that runs from the decor to the music to the menu. Our server was excellent--attentive without being overbearing, and spot-on with his recommendations. We started with a classic: calamari. It was cooked to perfection--lightly breaded, well-seasoned, and tender without being rubbery. Exactly how it should be. My wife ordered the Merluzzo--a beautifully roasted cod served with gnocchi. The fish was flaky and full of flavor, and the gnocchi were a standout: slightly crisp on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. A perfect balance. I had the seafood stew, which came in a rich tomato-based broth filled with clams, shrimp, and fish. Every bite was bursting with flavor--comforting, savory, and layered with just the right amount of spice and depth. I didn't want it to end. (sadly I accidentally deleted the pic.) I only wish this place was closer to home so I could eat here more often. But until then, I'll be counting down the days until our next trip to the Cape. Bucca's has definitely earned a spot on our must-visit list

Lemon martini

Had reservations at 5:30 and was seated promptly. Started off with a lemon martini for cocktail - tad string but good. For an app we got the Fontina Fritta - it was delicious!!! Their bread is also so good. Out entrees consisted of chicken parm and chicken saltimbocca. Both were prepared with a chicken breast with wing. Never had either prepared with bone in chicken. It was different with the bone in but the taste was wonderful. Not sure I can get on the bone in bandwagon but it was nice to try it.

Pasta with clams

Well I hate saying this, but disappointed with this place. First and foremost the server was outstanding. Super nice, very relaxed and very friendly. Not sure if it was the owner or manager at the door, but either way, he could care less about people. Not a hello or welcome. All he said without even looking at us was reservation. So for the rest. We started with the bruschetta and charred Caesar salad. The Caesar was tasty and they split it, so it was nice. The bruschetta was just ok. It was covered with a huge mound of ricotta and marinated tomatoes. It was just so so. Not much flavor and not that impressive. For dinner I had the pasta à la Vogel and my wife had the shrimp scampi. Her scampi was a dry pile of pasta with breadcrumbs and overcooked shrimp. Literally some oil on the bottom or the plate. My dish was good, unfortunately it was a little bit of pasta in a bowl of clam broth with garlic and way to much parsley. The restaurant was beautiful inside and had a very romantic atmosphere and ambiance. Unfortunately on our next trip to cape cod, this place is off the list.

This dark and cozy retreat in is worth a visit…read more The drinks are standout but the bartender, Jordan, really made our night the multiple times that we visited. He whipped up the offerings on the menu but also was well prepared to concoct libations based on flavor profiles or desired outcomes. He also can be trusted to create delicious mocktails that truly deserve a callout on the menu. For food, the olive bread and leek butter are delicious (though for a group you may want two orders), the white bean dip is sufficiently garlicky, and the burger is mighty in simple but delicious taste--accompanied by French fries that reminded us all of McDonald's. I hesitated to write this review because any busier would mean smaller chances of walking in on any given night, but I cannot bring myself to gate keep a gem that would find its place in any high-standard city, let alone the haven of South Chatham.

We all enjoyed our choices even thought serving size was smaller than we were used to in Texas. Wings. Caesar salad. Sweet Pea Gnocchi all good Choices. About a dozen options for draft beer. Smaller restaurant but was nice to get away from the congestion area of Chatham. No real view. Good parking. It is good for a try but wouldn't go again. Lots of better options.

The food was delicious, the cocktail choices were perfectly reflective of the season and the wine list was extensive. The portion sizes are nice enough to enjoy each dish without the feeling of being overwhelmed. The staff was super attentive and service was excellent after it got going. (We waited a bit after we ordered and there were no "munchies" or anything during the gap of time). Food was delicious - we had several salads, the tuna crudo, the mushroom appetizer (a real standout), lobster carbonara (the appetizer portion is a perfect size for a multi-course meal), scallops, and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Food presentation also lovely. They also brought out a slice of birthday cake to celebrate! We walked the grounds afterwards and this is truly a special environment.

We ordered the Chicken Piccata and the Chicken Marsala, and this might sound strange, but they literally tasted the same. It honestly felt like they used the same sauce as a base for both dishes and then just added or removed a few ingredients depending on which dish they were making. I love garlic, but there was SO much garlic in both dishes that you could visibly see it covering the plate. It completely overpowered everything else, and that's honestly all I could taste. It made both dishes really unenjoyable. We also ordered the Chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce itself was actually pretty good, but the chicken was horrible. The appetizers were definitely the better part of the meal. We got the meatballs, which were really good and probably my favorite thing we ordered. The Caprese was okay--it wasn't anything amazing, but it was still decent. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. The atmosphere is great, but I think they really need to rework some of their recipes, especially the pasta dishes.
