There's plenty of eateries and bars with live entertainment, even a gift shop. The casino itself is modern, clean, and has spotless restrooms. We started with a hearty breakfast and coffee at Pala Cafe, which was awesome. The staff here is super friendly and stepped in to help whenever we looked lost. A hotel guest even went out of her way to tell us how much she loved her room stay. Game-wise, they have a good variety from penny slots to high rollers, plus a great mix of classic machines. Like any casino, the slots are hit-or-miss; some pay out a bit, others are tight. Although there's a smoke-free area, the smell lingers so I did see some people wearing masks due to the smell. We loved the outdoor patio with umbrella tables for a quick breather. Overall, we had a fun experience and will definitely be back!

Posting this as a warning to anyone visiting Pala…read more We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and were incorrectly charged over $800 at the pool. It took more than a week to get the issue resolved. Unfortunately, my family visited again this past weekend (June 4-7, 2026) and experienced another problem. This time, we were charged at a restaurant and sports bar that we never visited. As of today, no one from the casino has contacted us to apologize or make things right. We've spent hours on the phone with both our bank and the casino, with no meaningful resolution other than having to cancel our credit cards ourselves to prevent the charges from going through. We are extremely disappointed. Our family has been coming to Pala for more than 25 years, and it's upsetting to experience these issues. If these unauthorized charges are happening to other patrons as well, that is very concerning. What a shame to see a place we've enjoyed for so many years leave us feeling this way.

It's one of the few late night places in wine country so it gets busy on weekends. There's live music on weekends as well so if you're sound sensitive I do not recommend. It was quite loud but I personally still enjoyed myself and had a good time singing along. The seating is first come first serve so you might have to wait for a table but usually something opened pretty quickly. The drinks were tasty and the service was good. There is also food options available even in the later evening. We tried the carne asada fries and they were delicious. The cheese sauce and chimichurri cream, with very tender meat, yum!

In previous visits, closer to the stage is loud, but more energetic. This visit we sat in the back and were able to enjoy a conversation without the need of raising our voices. Getting a table can be difficult since there are no reservations or hostess for seating. 8-9pm most tables on a Saturday night are taken so you might have to wait. The food and drinks were good. Nothing spectacular, or memorable. Just good food that you wont complain about. A dinner for 2 with a few drinks will set you back ~$200.

Fantastic service today by Mel, Tim, and staff! Made my BFFs bday a memorable one!…read more The food and drink were delicious as well! The bread and whipped butter were divine. The iced tea with the iced tea cubes, lemon, and simple syrup was out of this world. Next up we ordered the 3 course meal with the soup of the day mushroom French onion it was delicious!!! So creamy. Then we got the Chilean Sea Bass with risotto with lemon garnish. It was a beautiful display of flavor and wonderful to look at. Finally we chose the carrot cake and they brought her a slice of German chocolate cake with a Happy Birthday message and also a handwritten bday card from staff! WOW! It was the sweetest thing to make her day so special. Their bar next door is beautiful with blue ambient lighting and a fish tank see through wall. We did not enjoy it this time due to being too full. We gambled a bit, charged our car, and then left. I might even go back tomorrow because why not! It is worth the hour long drive back and forth. We've heard a lot of great reviews, so we decided to try it out! Even though we did not have reservations, the staff was incredibly accommodating while Alexis took our name and phone number and asked if we were celebrating any special occasion or if we had food allergies. Tim, our host, took us to our seat and the absolutely wonderful dining experience started! What stood out most was the attention to detail. While upscale restaurants pride themselves on high-quality coffee and thoughtful accompaniments, this restaurant's level of service is not standard! They provided an elaborate carrier laden with regular and whip cream, honey, chocolate and sugar stir sticks and topped it off with a biscotti for their brewed coffee! From carefully addressing food allergies to providing impeccable service throughout the evening, every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortably mixed with guests dressed from casual to elegant - perfect for a special occasion. We enjoyed the $75 three-course dinner, and both the pork chop and barramundi were exceptional. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented from the start of the potato lentil soup of the day and the fig and burrata salad to the dinner entrees! Every bite was a celebration of flavor! A special thank you to our waiter, Luciano, whose attentiveness and professionalism elevated the entire dinner journey. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our evening. The highlight of the night was dessert. The presentation was done in such a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize both our silver anniversary and a milestone birthday along with personally staff signed cards. I'm sure they do it for all their guests celebrating special events, but it made our already memorable evening truly unforgettable. This was more than just a great meal - it was an experience we'll always remember. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality.

That has not changed over the years except in the sense it is better each week I am there. Bar Meets Grill is at the hotel end of the casino, looking out on the open space and pool area. One benefit, no smoking -- every non-smoker's dream -- in it or by it. So you can relax, great ventilation and air conditioning where needed, and excellent food without the taint of cigarette or cigar smoke spoiling your evening. It is far enough away from the band for good conversation, open aired, not walled in, to make you feel part of the casino while still enjoying private dining. Saturday night, Fidel took great care of me as always. With visits by Chef Mark, Reed, Sean, Dino, Ashley, Tiffany, Behrooz, Artie, Sarah, Aron and Maryam from hosts and managers, and Marlene, Bobby (a Vikings fan, but outside of Chicago no one's perfect), and Jose from the bar team, I swear if was as if you are dining with family and close friends. And honestly, that's pretty much how it is. The food, well, superlatives are not exaggerations where accurate. A great wine list, with excellent options by the glass, mixed drinks as well. Appetizers preceded by special breads, I went with the BMG salad. Light, lemon vinagrette, chopped, tomatos, onions, just very light and flavorful without being filling. For the entree, it was the ribeye steak, medium rare, baked potato -- old fashion perfect dinner which will never run its time. Chef Mark and Chef Carlos are among the best, and now they have three other chefs, two women, one man, who are learning under them and doing beyond well. They work as a great team together, and want every guest, new or a regular, to love the place and return over and over again. One new chef, Cindy, has been grilling steaks I order of late. The steaks are the best they have ever been, but the preparation and temperature is better than ever. Perfectly cooked week after week throughout the steak. Medium rare is always medium rare, could not be better prepared by Cindy. Baked potato as well. Sometimes you want just great food and nice people -- well, you found it here. Plain and simple, Bar Meets Grill is a great place with even better people. They are upbeat and fun, know the menu and best options, the chefs will offer input, and you then sit back and enjoy. No rushing, no hassles, just time sitting back and having a great evening with a few hours off feeding slot machines, doubling down on a hand and holding your breath, or craps, any other game, and having the best of time alone or with family and friends. If you've not been there, just try it - you'll be back again and again.
