I recently was taken on a surprise trip to Pala Resort, Spa and Casino. Stayed 4 days and by far the best experience was the service, sports broadcasts and food at Luis Reyes ! Our server named, "Teresa" was absolutely fantastic. Serving multiple tables with tens of people all the while doing it with so much speed, grace effortless charm. So much so that my girlfriend and I asked to speak to the manager. We had to tell him how impressed and satisfied we were with her customer service. The manager was incredible as well. If the other 9 restaurants have the same type of manager and most importantly the service that , "Teresa" provided to us on such a big fight weekend ( UFC Adesanya fight and Fondura vs Thurman) I am sure they will have a loyal fallowing of customers. We ate and drank their every night ! I thanked my girlfriend so many times for surprising me with the trip to see the boxing fight I so desperately wanted to see ( by the way my guy lost ... Thurman urgh). I want to go back again for the fantastic service that , " Teresa " provides the guests at Luis Reys at Pala resort Spa and Casino. I don't care that we live 2 and a half hours away. The hours of operation for Luis Rey's Sports Bar at Pala Casion suck. A "sports" bar not open for sports. College football kicks off at 9:00 AM on the west coast and lasts literally all day. Luis Rey's doesn't open until 4:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. The NFL kicks off at 10:00 AM on Sundays. Luis Rey's doesn't kick off until 1:00 PM. Sunday Night Football? You might miss the end of the game as Luis Rey's closes at 9:00 PM. They close at 9:00 on Thursdays also, so the end of the Thursday Night Football game is in jeopardy also. Monday Night Football? Forget it. Luis Rey's is closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We never actually went to Luis Rey's. We stayed one night at Pala on a Saturday; we were attending a wedding nearby. We had to get to the venue about the time Luis Rey's opened, and we didn't return until after they closed. Looked like a decent bar. If only they were open when sports are being televised. read more

I was just there today and they didn't have the FINAL 4 on a single TV but they did have two completely unknown boxers on and other TV had a show full of influencers. We were staying at this hotel, & the night before the wedding a group of us were trying to watch the football game in this place with MAYYYBE 3 other tables (at least 20 open spaces). Instantly the manager gave us attitude saying we were not allowed to order drinks from the bartender as we were "taking away tips from the servers". We complied, asked for a server & then waited 20 minutes to get a drink in an empty restaurant. We had more people join us about 40 minutes into it & no server came to ask if they wanted anything. We tried to order drinks from the bar & the bartender said "sorry my manager said I'm not allowed to serve you drinks & you have to order from your server" okay great but maybe send a server over to check in then? Especially considering we are now the only customers in the establishment? Absolutely ridiculous I have never had this poor of service in a casino before. They do not take reservations - walk ins only. There was a lot of availability during prime time on a night where the hotel was sold out, though, so you shouldn't have to worry. I would like to start off by saying that this place is amazing to watch football games. They have an amazing big TV and they put the sound on. But this review is getting five stars because of our amazing server, Jose. He knew the menu inside and out, and he described the pizzas very well. I had a lot of questions, and he knew everything about the menu, which is hard to find nowadays with servers. Another thing I came with my family, who some spoke Spanish, which is a plus because our server, Jose, spoke Spanish and English very well, which made it very easy for our family to enjoy our time together and be able to order with ease. The pizza was also freshly made, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Everything was delicious, even the crust. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place. The ambiance is a dark-lit bar. Too dim that both managers hit their legs by banging into my table on two separate times as I dined. Perhaps this table needs to be moved elsewhere if employees bang themselves on the edge of this table? Just a thought. I was surprised they were open because it says they are only open Friday-Sunday. Had I known it would take almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive, I would not have chosen Luis Rey's. Once the food platters were set on the table, I did not get any additional service from my waitress even though I clearly placed my empty glasses of water and root beer beside the edge of my table. The street tacos were good. Fries were crispy. I would have liked for my waitress to have checked on me for refills. I was disappointed when I sat down because the only one that paid attention to me to have a seat was the bus lady. Yet, someone from behind me had reprimanded her for seating me! So much for customer service! There were ten tables inside at the time so between the three servers, it was not super busy. I do not think I would dine here again. Simply because of the quality of the service. My server did come to me at the end to ask me if I was ready for the check. I just feel there ought to have been a check-in with me during the meal. We are staying at Pala for the weekend and decided to have lunch here. The service started off ok and then it just got progressively worse. Our sever would ask if everything was ok give us a thumbs up and walk way before we could even answer. He would just dash away from us it was so strange. Now the food, I ordered potato skins and they came out dry and crusty and burnt. The cheese was rock hard and the potatoes were dried out as if they were put in the microwave for soooooo long. I had one and knew I wouldn't be able to continue so I just sat there and starved. My husband ordered a burger and fries and let me tell you that man loves food. He will eat just about anything and he hated his food and didn't finish it. He really couldn't finish his food and that is a very RARE occurrence. I genuinely think the food was old. Great service and good food. My husband and I had the street tacos for $9. We came back after a concert and had the nachos which were a big portion, enough for my husband and I to share. Great Happy Hour menu and prices! They changed the Happy Hours to 5pm-8pm and it's only available on non-concert nights. My favorite drink here is their michelada ($5 during HH). This is a review lunch on a Thursday afternoon for 2 diners. We stopped in while visiting Pala's Casino. There were a few people eating lunch, some at the bar, and others enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the outdoor seating area. There was a huge screen TV with fascinating nature clips that kept us quite entertained. There were smaller TVs with sport events playing. Our order include iced tea, street tacos, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Our food came quickly and our server was good. The chicken sandwich had a little too much mayo for my taste so you may ask to have it on the side. Otherwise the sandwich was good as was the very large fries and onion ring combo. My DH said his tacos were good but he thought the meat was a little overcooked. I had originally ordered street tacos but they only came on corn toritillas (which I am not a fan). This is a Sports Bar inside of the Pala Resort. They have lots of TVs around the area including one huge Tv for the prime time games. The bar itself is nice, clean and has a nice set up to it. I was starving and wanted to watch the dodgers conference series game and I got a table to sit pretty quickly in the high tops. Their menu isn't very big as they have a burger, nachos, tacos, hotdogs and special of the day. I started off with the chicken nachos which was just alright, not bad, not something you would ever remember. For my entree I got the prime rib sandwich (special of the day) with sweet potato fries and as hungry as I was I couldn't eat it after the first bite so I had returned it for the Shrimp Tacos. The tacos weren't anything to rave about as it was pungent but I was starving so I had tolerated that. Sean (our server) was great, and very attentive as he took great care of us. We stopped here for a late night snack after the JoKoy show this weekend. The casino was packed and Luis Rey's was the least busiest place to grab something. We lucked out and got the best carne asada nachos we've had in a long time. Great price too - $10! It hit the spot. You cannot pass up on these as an appetizer or a snack for two, maybe three. A band was playing that night, cannot recall the band but they had a keyboardist that was amazing. He was blind, talented and the band as a whole was pretty good. Now, on to the service..... Not so great. Slow and nobody checks on you. We sat for a long time before getting served and getting replacement drinks (don't they want to make more money???). I came here one night and I was impressed with the set up and all the comfy sofas. It was cold that night but there were a ton of heaters so that was a nice touch. They have a little bar but you can also order food and the food is pretty good. They don't have any waitresses so the bar tender will take your order and deliver your food. Luis Rey's is on a patio so dress accordingly especially at night. If you want to get away from the smoke and all the people this is a great spot for both. I will say that it's a little pricey for what you get but I had fun and the food was good. There is also a small stage for some live entertainment. Awesome for happy hour! $1 tacos, $3.25 margaritas and craft beers from 4p-7p. On Friday & Saturday live music started here at 7PM. Quality of food was pretty average. We came here Friday and Saturday. Saturday the service at the bar was awesome. Friday, it seemed like our server at a table quickly forgot about us (and we waited for quite a while for drink refills.. and the check). PROPS: It's a neat outdoor restaurant on the side of the resort. It overlooks some of the natural beauty of the area. For this reason alone, I'd come back. SLOPS: Below average service. Disclaimer - I've only eaten here once (this past week), but may again in the near future to help solidify my review. I was torn between a 3 (A-OK) and 4 star (I'm a fan) rating. The service we received was excellent, from the hostess to the waitress. The menu is limited and I am not sure if that is SOP, or due to the WuFlu conditions. Unlike all restaurants in California being mandated (AGAIN) at this time to only allow for outdoor dining, the restaurants at Pala are allowing indoor dining as an option with "social distancing" of the tables. We elected to eat indoors, which made for a pleasant experience. Our waitress was attentive, but not annoying. Our orders came out in a timely manner, as did our couple of drink orders. Some of the foods we ordered included potato skins, chicken wings, chicken tenders and fries. The potato skins were just okay, nothing special, and we received a total of 7. They needed some salt and/or pepper to kick them up a notch. The chicken wings were very good, as far as I was concerned. They were plump, fried well and had a nice taste unto themselves. I was happy with the quantity provided, about 10 or 12 (I should have counted), along with a few carrot and celery sticks thrown in the mix. The sauces provided, in small disposable containers, were okay. You may need to ask for more of the one you prefer. The fries were crispy and did not wilt after sitting out during the hour we ate. The wife said she enjoyed her chicken tenders. We ordered cocktails with our meal. Although they were "good" they were watered down compared to the heavy pour cocktails we had at one of the bars within the casino beforehand. I guess we got spoiled too quickly. Overall, regardless of whether my true rating is a 3 or 4 star, we agreed we would eat here again and figure it out. read more

The outdoor seating is ok and very pleasing at sunset. The lounge chairs are very low and deep. They are not super comfortable for long term seating. Been coming to Pala for so many years - what really kept me coming back was their Choices Buffet, but today we decided to try something new. Luis Rey's has a great back patio lounge and bar. Looks like a place that gets jam packed (we just so happen to come at the right time). We were craving for JUST nachos but we ended up buying their chicken quesadilla and truffle fries in addition to their nachos. Everything was just as we expected - delicious! The food came in a great portion (family style) and they loaded everything with an even ratio. I ordered their Spicy Mango drink which I give a 10/10. You ever had a Vero Mango paleta before?
