Food was pretty good, expensive but that's to be expected for seafood. Service was defiantly lacking. They were extremely slow... I sat in front of the register waiting to order while employees talked, and they weren't very friendly. They had an awesome happy hour so I ordered a margarita, I'm pretty sure it didn't have any tequila in it.. and if it did I couldn't taste it all all, and it was so sweet I couldn't drink it... so I took it back up front (had to wait 15 mins in a line) still had a full cup explaining my problem. Basically told me tough luck, and charged me for my next drink, which is fine I just wouldn't call that good customer service. read more

Really good food. Wasn't over greasy like usual fried sea food places. Seasoned just right. Nice friendly staff. Gumbo was delicious and not at all dirty tasting read more

Wonderful food and a great price. Loved the whitefish basket. Had not had fish this good in quite awhile. Stop in because you won't regret it. read more

Scott every new restaurant in Tyler is steady and busy we will see if your alive in a year. Rowdys or rustys didn't make it.

Went here the other night for crawfish and boiled shrimp. Though late in the season crawfish were a little small, everything was excellent! Beer was cold, and my fiance loved her margarita. Word of caution... The hot seasoning is no joke. Im definitely looking forward to going back soon. read more

The food here is divine! My husband is incredibly picky, but even he adores the food here! My favorite is their grilled shrimp tacos. The tortillas are seasoned and crispy, the shrimp is perfectly cooked and the toppings are fresh and juicy. This is, for me, the perfect meal. Even their lemonade is delicious! Not too tart, and not too sweet. Perfect. read more

The food is as fresh as it gets. Great portion size, great taste, absolutely wonderful. It can get crowded and loud, but with food this good that makes sense. Prices are on average with every other seafood place in the area, but portions are bigger. They had problems getting our orders right at first, but that's been fixed. Everything we've gotten has been excellent and they always take care of us. read more

The food and service was great. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the fries. They were a little cold, even though our fish and shrimp were hot and delicious. I would most definitely go back. read more

Best Etouffee I've ever eaten. They advertised earlier this week that they would have Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee and once again, these guys did not disappoint. They have enclosed the patio, they have heaters outside. The restaurant is clean. The food is incredible. They exceed this customers expectations. A Home Run! read more

I went to get crawfish that i was craving SO bad and unfortunately I was disappointed:( there was not much spice, they were pretty over cooked, and tiny. However, the staff was very helpful and nice. I will defiantly go back to try their other food the crawfish just wasn't for me. The drink prices are very good and they have an assortment of margaritas! read more

FANTASTIC! The Seafood was fresh and better than some places we eat at down on the coast! Service was friendly and the place was clean. But seriously... THE FOOD! We will definitely be back! read more

The catfish here was one of my favorites. We got the seafood tower for our family of four, which was A LOT of food. It had a little bit of everything and one of my kids wanted to try the fried oysters since she's never had oysters before. The catfish, crawfish tails, and shrimp were all good. The fried oysters were awful! Looks like they just grabbed a handful of oysters and threw them in the batter and then the fryer. Have had fried oysters before, but would never get the oysters here again. read more

The Catch - Fried oysters... - Seafood Near Me - Tyler, Texas

Really really great spices on food, excellent customer service & reasonable prices! I most def will be visiting them again! Soon! & often!

Seriously, the best service! Great friendly & knowledgeable staff. The hush puppies are to die for! Make sure you get the dipping sauce to go with the hush puppies, you won't want to eat them any where else. We had a large group of about 20 people, the staff was quick and very accommodating. Food was well prepared and presented. The manager made a point to take good care of each individual she spoke to. I appreciated the attention to detail when it came to meal prep and the care shown to the customer. Thankfully I'm only a black away and I can hit it up for lunch multiple times during the week. read more

I tried to call my order in but no one would answer the phone. I drove there to order and service was good. Order shrimp Poboy with fries and a large fried shrimp with fries and shrimp, crawfish, and sausage gumbo. The shrimp were jumbo and the best part of the whole meal. The remoulade, tarter, and cocktail sauce were not good and need some work. The gumbo was ok but needed salt and more seasoning. read more

Food is good. Dining area a little cramped. And waitress forgot to bring hush puppies. Promised to bring them when they were ready. They never showed. read more

The catch gives you a lot of fish. I love how the fish tastes fresh. I love how they have a cover outside so when it rains you can still sit out and eat. read more

Firstimer here. They were pretty steady with guests at 14:30. The food was great. The food was perfectly cooked and hot, it had not been under a heat lamp. You order and they deliver it to your table. We were checked on several times during the meal. We ordered the shrimp catfish combo and would order it again. Can't wait to try some grilled shrimp next time. read more

I have been to The Catch on several occasions. They never disappoint. The food & staff are amazing. They are very attentive & aim to please. I was born & raised on the Gulf Coast and cherish fresh seafood. At The Catch, the seafood dishes taste extremely fresh, which amazes me being in East Texas. No comparison to other seafood restaurants in this area. A+ all the way! read more

Went to The Catch 8/30 - keep thinking we will have something new and both had the catfish and shrimp again. Good as always and nice folks. Regular order is one good-sized thick juicy fillet and a half dozen shrimp, crispy fries and a couple hush puppies. Good food, good price. Maybe I'll try something new next time. Tried the fish taco last night 9/13 and it was very good too. read more

This is for the location on Old Jacksonville Hwy. Great quality food, well cooked, not greasy (it was fried wonderfully). Was too much for me to eat, but it was great for lunch the next day. Had several meals there, catfish, whitefish, shrimp, all excellent. Thank you for the courteous service, great food and very fair pricing. read more

Under weighed crawfish, manager/owner arguing with us about our order, dirty tables, dirty bathrooms, no corn or potatoes with the crawfish. Hard to want to come back. read more

This is a wonderful place to eat. The only other place to get decent seafood, in my opinion, is Clear Springs. The food from The Catch is far better. I get the catfish and shrimp plate. The fish is battered and seasoned well and the shrimp was amazing. The portion is just right. read more

The sausage Gumbo was very good. The fried Oyster Po-boy was tasty, but small. My wife had the Catfish basket and was very disappointed. I sampled hers and I was discouraged as well. Very fishy!!!! I will give them another shot. Next time I will try the Craw-fish. read more

Now owners, face-lift, good service, fair priced easily, good location, new GM.. Still working out the kinks in service however, nothing to worry about. You watch - it will CATCH on in Tyler, Lol.. J Miller read more

I went to this place and was WOWED! I got to try the oysters which by the way were the best in Tyler, the gumbo and clam chowder were great! and of course the jumbo shrimp is to die for, and the whitefish will put Long John Silvers out of business.Next time I will try the Poboys. So glad to have a great seafood place near my house. read more

Tried this place after reading a review in Texas Monthly. We had an oyster basket and a fried shrimp basket with clam chowder. While the oysters were excellent and the shrimp were ok, they came with the worst french fries I've ever had. The fries are sliced thin and are smashed in the bottom of the basket. No crispness at all. Also, be sure to tell them if you don't want the cajun seasoning they apparently automatically assume you want. It is terrible to my taste. Service was average but the place a little noisy. All in all I cannot recommend unless you want decent seafood for take out. read more

Food was great, crawfish was excellent but a little expensive @ $8.99 per pound but worth checking out.

the wait staff was ok but not good.. our waitress was nice but brought me fries when I asked for coleslaw.. the food had no flavor!! The fish was nicely cooked but had no seasoning.. the shrimp and chicken both had what could have been a good batter if they had even bothered with salt.. again NO FLAVOR!! The fries where the frozen shoe string type so nothing special.. needless to say we will not be returning.. new restaurant pick fail!! read more

I had the oyster basket & everything in it was delicious with plenty of seasoning. They had a quick ordering service right when you walk in. The restaurant was clean and they had very attentive service! Definitely will come back next time I visit Tyler! read more

We ate at "The Catch" while we were visiting in Tyler and the food was exceptional. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were the best that I have had. Everyone at the table had different items and everything was really good. Even though there was a packed house the food was delivered fast. Looking forward to eating at "The Catch" in Fort Worth. read more

Then place has amazing food and great service. Had the crawfish tacos. I would recommend this place to anyone who is going here.

First we called and asked if they had crawfish etouffee and they said yes so we decided to come try! I love crawfish so I was super excited! We got there to order and surprise they don't serve crawfish etouffee.. Frustrating because we called and came all the way there for it. Anyway I love boiled crawfish so I ordered two pounds and was excited to eat that since it's barely season so it just started selling! It's $7.99 a pound there and that's just ridiculous because the quality is HORRIBLE!! I wouldn't mind paying that money per pound if it was decent tasting but it had absolutely NO flavor just a little spicy but tasted very watery. I had to dip it lemon juice just to get some sort of taste with the seasoning they have on the table. Of course I ate every last crawfish because it was so much money and I wasn't about to waste it. Needless to say we won't be coming back. We will go to the location in Kilgore from now on. read more

Stopped in for a business lunch an thoroughly enjoyed the fried catfish and shrimp basket. One caveat, do not under any circumstance order the cheese grits. Tasted like dirty dish water There are plenty of other tasty sides to choose instead. read more

First time visiting The Catch today. Ordered the Ambassador platter. Great food, great vibe, nice portions. This place will become a regular place to have lunch. Love it. Menu is simple, and broad. They have fried seafood, fresh cut fries (WHICH IS A RARE TREAT IN TYLER), great looking salads, fish tacos. Plenty of choices, regardless of your eating preferences. Highly recommend. This restaurant is a rare find in Tyler. read more

Very Casual. Catfish wasn't a good choice...a bit muddy as others have commented. Average overall.

Having grown up in Virginia Beach, I'm a seafood snob. Finding THE CATCH restaurant was one of the best "catches" for me here in Tyler. The boiled shrimp is seasoned to taste, the whitefish is flaky and delicious, and the New England clam chowder is out of this world. My absolute favorite has to be the crab legs! Wow! Served hot and perfectly cooked, the legs crack exactly as they should so the meat slides from the shell.... ready to dip in hot drawn butter! Served with seasoned corn on the cob and red potatoes.....Mouthwatering! read more

It was on the day of the post abd we got it to go. Got home and noticed the inside half wasnt cooked all the way through. ; ( wasnt gonna drive back up there. read more

I travel a lot and am always on the look for new and unique restaurants. No doubt I found one here! You have to try the shrimp, oysters, crawfish tails and whitefish!! First time will definitely turn into a next time. Cant say enough about how fresh and good the food was! The admirals feast and oyster basket were delicious. You get twice the food that's half the price of other seafood chains! The oysters, shrimp, whitefish, crawfish tails, chicken tenders and hushpuppies were wonderful and perfectly prepared! You also have to try the remoulade. It's the best I've had anywhere! The frozen margarita ranks up there with one of the best I've had too. Last, but not least the owner and staff were attentive and extremely friendly. You have to try this place out and support local business! My boyfriend and I intend on making this a weekly spot! You should too! read more
