Man o man! Where to begin?! I'll start with, I'm late to the game with most of my Texan Fam. They've all been here a few times, and rave about some of the meals here. So naturally, I just had to come and dip my toes into the swamp. And it did not disappoint! Our table had a variety of meals and appetizers. We had the fried Catfish & Shrimp baskets, the Buttermilk Chicken Tenders basket, Fried Pickled Chips, Boudin Balls, some Rat Toes, Andouille Sausage w/ Red Beans & Rice... just to name a few . Even a basket of Crawfish when in season. Also the Fried Gator Tails... and Dayuuuum... what a treat! If you haven't had Gator before, it's actually delicious. I won't tell you it tastes like chicken, because in my opinion... it doesn't. My overall experience felt like I was in an authentic place, and the ambiance of Razoo's transported me to another place, in a different time. At first, we were met with rudeness and I got the feeling we were not wanted. There was no host and the waitress my husband spoke too rolled her eyes and shook her head when he walked away. It was our first visit, so we were unsure if we were to seat ourselves-and that is all he asked her. We actually left and after a heated discussion, decided to go back in-and I'm so glad we did! The food was SO good! And it was funny, because when we walked back in, there was a hostess-so I'm not sure why the one lady told us there wasn't. Anyway, Sophie waited on us and she was super nice. Review: Management at this restaurant requires better training in customer service and employee training. Let me start out by apologizing for such a wordy review. I feel like I must get this off my chest to be able to move forward. On July 17, 2024, my family and I visited one of my daughter's favorite places in Tyler. We were seated and served by a very nice server named Faith. When I ordered a double Jim Beam and water tall, Faith seemed a bit confused and mentioned she was 18 and knew little about alcohol. I reassured her it was fine. She also got a bit mixed up with my son-in-law's beer order but resolved it quickly, showing her attentiveness and willingness to do a good job. Later, my wife and I decided to order shots of Grand Marnier for ourselves and our son-in-law. Concerned that Faith might struggle with the pronunciation, I went to the bar to place the order directly. The bartender confirmed they had it, and I requested three shots to be sent to our table. I returned to our table, and a short time later, a person who presented herself as the manager asked who the shots were for. I joked they were for my grandchildren, then clarified they were for my wife, son-in-law, and myself. The manager informed me it was against policy to order drinks directly from the bar for the table. She said they couldn't serve me a shot because I already had a drink, but could serve my wife and son-in-law. My wife immediately told my daughter (who doesn'tdrink) to set the drink in front of her so we could have them and continue our dinner. The manager said that wouldn't happen either. I told the manager to go ahead and cancel the shots order, and she replied that it was not a problem since it was never rung up because I broke policy by ordering shots at the bar for the table. In my opinion, this situation was handled poorly by the manager. I explained that I went to the bar to help Faith with the order, but the manager accused me of insulting Faith. I told the manager I was not trying to insult anyone. Faith made it very clear that she was 18 and didn't know anything about alcohol, so I canceled the shots order due to the manager's attitude. When the food arrived, I apologized to Faith if she felt insulted, but she assured me she did not. The food was good, as usual, but this experience with the manager soured the evening. If you're going to have an 18-year-old server who doesn't know about alcohol, either provide better training or have a more experienced manager or server assist with alcohol orders. Faith was attentive and did her best, but the manager lacked the skills to handle the situation appropriately. This location clearly has management issues, as evidenced by the near-empty parking lot at 6:15 PM on a Wednesday. The food remains good, and I recommend Faith as a server. However, I do not recommend this location for an enjoyable dining experience, especially if you plan to order drinks. Our combined tabs totaled $175, which would have been higher if not for the manager's inflexibility. I give 3 stars only because of Faith and the quality of the food. If I had to rate the place based on the experience with the manager, it would have been minus 3 stars. I hope upper management sees this review and addresses these concerns. read more

Although we have been here for dinner, we enjoy going to restaurants for just drinks and appetizers, have done so a few times now at Razzoo's. Have had the pleasure of Danielle waiting on us and mixing our drinks all three times. The drinks are on the stronger side (a few of the drinks are a two limit cocktail), which makes me feel better paying for them. But more importantly, you taste great. I have had the Magnolia Sunrise Tea, The Worm Burner, and the Bloody Voodoo Mary. All of which I recommend trying. I have eaten at Razzoo's for better than 22 years, but my wife of 13 years never had until tonight which means I haven't for 13 years either. To start off, the whiskey sour she ordered was an abomination...it is her favorite and with Gentlemen's Jack it should have been a step above, but no. That said, the raw oysters were so fresh and clean it took me back to Pier 30 and our yearly vacations we take there, thank you for that. The Rat Toes are still a pleasure to eat and are fascinatingly original after all these years. The Shrimp Fondue was fun and full of flavor. Everything we tried was spot on. The service was friendly and attentive yet not over bearing and the manager checked in personally twice. Journie (jur-nay') was our waitress and was very fun and inviting. Im 63 years old and hVe been traveling for work over 40 years. Have eaten in thousands if restaurants all over the country and usually eat my bad experiences. NOT THIS TIME! First of all i know better than to order boiled crawfish in any restaurant outside of south louisiana. But i took a chance. Bad choice. Sat at bar alone. Bartender took 15 minutes to notice me then asked if i wanted something to eat. Ordered the "Bubba Boil"2 pounds of boiled crawfish, 6 boiled shrimp, potatoes and corn and sausage. Took 45 minutes to bring out. Ive been cooking and eating crawfish for 40 years. These were grossly overcooked. Cooked to mush with an formaldehyde smell. Potatoes cooked to mush as was corn. No sausage. I aked her about sausage she said she would check on it. After driving 7 hours and taking a 26 mile detour to find the place i was hungry enough to choke this slop down knowing i was paying for it. She showed up with sausage after i was done. These people open cajun restaurants thinking the word will bring them and most people go in not really knowing what a good boiled crawfish is. $45 wasted and my time.
