I had to wait over 40 minutes just for the server to put in my order. He completely forgot about us and many people after us got their food. He payed no attention, was quite rude, and gave our appetizers super late hense they were cold! Their food is good but some of their staff is not. Absolutely atrocious. I couldn't eat one full crawfish and I attempted on multiple before I just got too grossed out. I was questionable at first I've eaten at a lot of seafood places over the years. Ain't here first time yesterday with my kids and their friend. I gotta say it hit the spot. Three of us got half pound snow crab with all the fixings and the Kidsville slightly over $100. You can't beat that and they gave you a great portion of a meal. The waitress was excellent. I went to the laughing crab recently with a friend and enjoyed my meal. The food was seasoned very nicely. I had 1/2 pound special with cajun/butter garlic- crawfish, shrimp. It was very flavorful. I also ordered the huahpuppies. My little one had the catfish basket and it was great. Seasoned well and a good portion. My friend had sausage and fish basket and she said it was good. I think our server was a little frazzled. She ordered my shrimp wrong and gave my friend sweet potato fries instead of regular ones. We didn't say anything because she seemed so overwhelmed and even paid for the upcharge. The restaurant was clean and full of decor. I will definitley be back!! After getting our food, we ordered some additional sausage (1/2 lb) and these things were Deeeeelish!!! Tried here tonight my kids ate there a few weeks ago I've been wanting some good boiled shrimp and crab. It was clean staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. I had the combo with boiled shrimp lobster and snow crab. Cajun seasoning medium heat. The shrimp was over cooked and the seasoning was over the top that's all I tasted for the most part. My wife ordered the soft-shell crab which was extremely overcooked, small and had too much breading. I tried one of her crabs but could not eat it. The service was great, let's start there, the waiters were very friendly and courteous; however, the food is very bland. We didn't order anything fried (so I can't speak for their fried seafood) besides the cheese sticks that were not stringy. Very strange. The boiled items come saturated in butter and seasoning at the surface, but once you get to the meat of the food it simply doesn't exist (I was having to dip the meat in the butter concoction just to get a semblance of flavor). Just as a warning they will sell you frozen crawfish because it is not in season (was told this directly by the assistant manager when we brought it to his attention that the crawfish meat was tough). In hindsight, they have on the menu next to crawfish the words "seasonal." However, typically restaurants will simply not have it available if it's out of season. Not so much here. Giving some grace since they did just open,hopefully the philosophy of "the only way is up from here" rings true for the future of this restaurant. read more
