    Seafood with potato and broccoli

The great thing about this restaurant is the fresh, quality seafood. It was perfect. I chose my flavour to be garlic, which turned out to be jarred garlic in oil dumped on top of everything. That is not the method. Make a nice broth. Include raw, actual garlic and include seasoning. There was absolutely no salt or pepper on anything. Seafood is really good. I don't know why they ruin it and cheapen the dish by adding half a jar of minced garlic, which makes it altogether way too greasy and very difficult to eat. You have a good product. Please seasoned it and cook it properly with a broth -- add some wine and garlic and herbs in the broth. It'll be excellent. The condiment, or the flavour selected, should not ruin the entire dish, but enhance it !

OMG this place is the bomb. I am obsessed with The Captain's Boil! I have always wanted to experience the whole bib and dig in on the table scene and it came truee!!! Service: the service is amazing and there are a lot of washing stations nearby. Food/price: The food is amazing, you can choose a range of seafood options... We got the crawfish and seafood combo (shrimp, mussels, clams) ... something like that. :) Price was ehhh but worth the experience. BUCKET LIST Y'ALL Audience: good for food fights with your date (jk) or a nice family gathering. Recommend/tips: DIG IN BRO git git

Dine-in here is a great experience. You can choose your seafood and spice level, and your items are brought to your table boiled and marinated with veggies. The tables have plastic gloves so you can eat with your hands, and theyve narrowed down the cook perfectly - not overcooked and not raw. The only downside is their prices have increased drastically, or are higher compared to shrimp/krab/lobster at other restauraunts.

So gross!!!!!! Ordered on Uber eats - literally put it in the garbage. Disgusting called the restaurant and they had no feedback just blamed it on Uber eats. Cold Yes But gross greasy taste and small portions isn't explained.. Go elsewhere

Disclaimer: I don't like seafood (so why am I here right?) le bf wanted me to go with him to a work gathering so I tagged along and HEH I ordered chicken :) We had a large group maybe 10-14 people and got seated relatively quickly :O large long table and service was great. I didn't have any issue with my meal (i'm the only one that got chicken lol) and there was some seafood that were mixed up with other people though I don't think anyone minded. Chicken fingers were alright. Cajun fries were surprisingly spicy!! I liked but it got overwhelming at one point. My bf wanted to order 2 things but both of them aren't a part of the menu anymore. The waitress simply explained that they're removing it from the menu. Prob should replace all the menus then. He ended up getting fish & chips. It looked super dry but it tasted moist so that was good. 3* for food 4* for service

This location is small so plan ahead. We had a 30-45 minute wait. I wish they had a bar more suitable for waiting. Also wish they served drinks other than beer. The service was great. The menu had options for everyone and they food was delish! I had crab legs and shrimp with corn, potatoes and sausage. Tried the cajun and the captain's boil seasoning. They were both outstanding. I felt the value, portions and quality were great. I would certainly come back and try more menu items. I recommend this place just pack your patience. It may be crowded but it's totally worth it. Toronto is definitely a town that takes care of foodies. Captain's Boil has multiple locations so we had no issues stopping in while staying downtown for the Caribana.

I've been here a couple of times as it is close to where I live. Over the years the prices have increased a lot and it's now more on the expensive side. But everything is still just as delicious!! One of my favourite dish is the Captains Boil Seafood Fried rice! It's a big portion so it's good for sharing and it's amazing! The service here is really fast and great, the lady that served us (who we see on a frequent basis) is always so nice! Definitely will be back :)!

Barbarians everywhere! Eating with their hands ... piles and piles of scaled shrimp covered with sauce that can only be described as Cheeto coloured. Despite all this and the blaring 90s pop meets dubstep soundtrack ( who thought of this?), Despite all this... the food is pretty decent. $12 will get you a lb of shrimp , $1 a piece of corn to go with it. The sauces come in a variety including captains boil (a mix of Cajun, garlic and one other). My girlfriend and I got a pound of shrimp and pound of mussels. She was a big fan of the mussels... I was not. The shrimp were good but you had to take off both the head and tail. (apparently some people just eat the heads! Yum) Everything ended up tasting like the hot Captain's Boil sauce we got it in. I don't know if I would order the crab here because it would just end up tasting like the sauce. You also get super messy.

I love Captain's Boil! This was the second location I've been to (usually I go to the Sheppard location). We went here during the AYCE shrimp promotion that was going on and the wait time was about 45 minutes. The workers were very nice and the location was a lot more smaller than I expected. The shrimp was great as usual but for some reason the Captain's Boil sauce tasted a little watered down to me. Not sure if it was because of how busy it was due to the promotion but I will definitely try again during the normal time. Also the Cajun fries were amazing, I loved the little kick of spice it had. Overall Rating: 3.5/5

I just finished eating there and the food was great. The service was good and the seafood was all I expected! When I have a seafood craving, I'm definitely coming back!

Last nights devours took me to @thecaptainsboil . This seafood spot was a random fire in another country. Here, they serve a number of seafood dishes as well as creating your own seafood boil. The waiters are very nice, and are very fluent with explaining the menu. While here I ordered the seafood fried rice along with a pound of shrimp with the head and 2 pounds of snow crab's and they're famous kept him boil sauce by which consist of three sauces mixed into one! The bathrooms are very clean! If you ever want some very affordable seafood in the city of Toronto please visit @thecaptainsboil and tell them shimmy Frm the U.S. sent you! #food #seafoodboil #seafood #crablegs #crab #shrimp #corn #potatoes #rice #water #gloves #foodporn #foodie #foodstagram #foodblogger #toronto #canada

Cozy atmosphere and the service was kind, making us feel relaxed. Maybe too relaxed that we ordered dessert even after being stuffed already. Starting with the mvp of the meal, the dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding, did not disappoint. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was the best I've had. Tender snd delicate cake, ample syrup and the twist was some sort of sour tamarind or cherry candy on top. Perfect! The grilled mackerel was also absolutely divine. Really well prepared and meaty. The mussel dish was incredible too. The broth was gingery, garlicky and coconuty and very comforting to have on a cool night! I wish they had some sort of dry bread to go with it. However, the only bread option, focaccia was ordered. The focaccia was lovely on its own! Not an ideal pairing with the mussels but not bad either. I would absolutely revisit!

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037
