We've been to this place a few times already when we crave a good seafood boil. This restaurant is big, has a relaxed vibe and offers bigger tables for a large group. I must say the food is consistently good. We've tried shrimps, mussels and lobster and everything was excellent with the Captain's Boil sauce. I also highly recommend their fried rice as side, potatoes, fried shrimp and sausage. The staff here are very friendly. Plenty of parking spots since it's located in a plaza. The food was very good. I love the captains boil sauce that day and cajun is also nice. I got mussels and shrimp and the potatos were so good with the sauce. I cant wait to comd again and eat for the cravings. read more

The inside is spacious with good decor and cleanliness. The Deep-fried Calamari was amazing! The batter was crunchy, and the calamari was juicy inside - totally beyond my expectations. The Shrimp Basket was good too. It was crunchy on the outside, but the batter was a bit thick. The Cajun fries were delicious as well. The lobster was meaty, with lots of tender, juicy meat under the shell. It was well-seasoned too. Service was good. The server seemed surprised when we poured the entire bag out on the table - I was surprised too, but it happened too fast to stop it lol. Sorry for the mess. Overall, it was a great experience. It would be even better if they offered some grilled options on the menu. Visited The Captain's Boil Vaughan location on a Saturday evening between 5:30-6:00pm and the near-empty dining room should have been my first clue. We were sat, ordered pop, and both drinks arrived in plastic cups. When it came time to order food, my cousin got the Matey's Feast and I built my own boil, choosing one protein (lobster) plus two sides, a sauce flavour, and a heat level. I asked to add crab leg, mussels, and shrimp and was told only one protein is allowed per boil order. The only side options presented to us were hard-boiled egg, potato, corn, and steamed rice, even though the website lists seven. I chose lemon pepper sauce and mild heat, but couldn't taste any lemon in the finished dish. Food came out in plastic bags, as is typical for seafood boils, with small styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery provided on the side. My cousin's Matey's Feast was a massive spread, so big she took leftovers home in containers. My order was the opposite: a small lobster that tasted slightly bitter throughout, including the claws, and seemed overcooked, half a small overcooked corn cob (just the pointed end), and a hard-boiled egg I had to peel myself, also overcooked. The seasoning was so heavy the food was gritty, plus overly salty and greasy. No tools were provided to crack the shell or pick claw meat and when I asked for a nutcracker I was handed small scissors with a tiny, unusable nutcracker built into the handle. The bill made it worse: my meal, drink, tip, and tax came to about $82, while my cousin's full spread came to about $84, almost the same price for wildly different portions. This barely qualified as a "boil." I've had better full platters at Red Lobster for less, and an excellent boil at Robot Boil for around $100 that was genuinely worth it. If they want to improve, they need to offer a real build-your-own boil experience: the option to add extras like vegetables, shrimp, mussels, or other proteins to a platter, and actually offer the full range of sides listed on their own website rather than a shortened in-person selection. Real plates and real utensils would go a long way too. This was my first and last visit to The Captain's Boil. read more

I had the captain boils platter which is $99 and includes crab leg, corn, shrimp, potato, mussels and clams. We've order it in the signature captain boil sauce and mild spice level. The seafood came in a platter rather than baggies. We also added noodles with the captain boil sauce too. The noodles came in a bag. We ordered two! And it was $6.99 each. The seafood didn't particularly stand out to me, my favourite would be the crab legs. The noodles were okay but a bit over priced for what it was. Overall it was a good experience to check out. Eating with gloves is fun! The portion is a bit small for 4 people however. read more

As you see I had great intentions to take pictures but once the food came, my friend and I devoured it! We were greeted at the door in a timely manner. I am happy we came just in time as we got a booth. We ordered chicken wings and a pitcher of sangria to start the sangria was the book and the wings were hot and juice. The mix and match we got was rice, sausage, shrimp and mussels. There could have been more sauce and it was a bit salty. I wanted to try the churros but was stuffed. Will go back again though. read more

I would not recommend anyone attend this restaurant, the portions were a complete rip off when compared to the prices. I ordered the lobster boil unfortunately the lobster had absolutely no meat in it. The meal contained an empty lobster shell in a bag with a small cup of rice on the side Once the bill arrived they wanted to charge me 80 dollars for the meal. read more

Went for my husband's birthday dinner last week and it's been about 6 years since I've last ventured to a Captains Boil. The service was sub par. They were busy I basically waited 30 min for the server to bring me a crab leg cracker. Food was great. I bit on the pricier side; but hey it's seafood. Will go again for just the snow crab in Captain's Boil mix! read more

Beautiful and spacious restaurant. However, the food took forever and a lot of things were out of stock. Two meals for our party did not arrive until everyone else was finished eating. The new menu no longer has the really great items from before, like lotus roots and other vegetables. The server was really nice, however, but even that couldn't make up for the super slow food service. Way over priced and underwhelming experience read more

bad service and also I believe they rip you off on the portion size. Nrver will I visit this place again

I went with a friend early this year, for the first time. It wasn't what I expected. I liked the prawns but the deep fried seafoods didn't taste fresh. I did love the place/decor, and our server was friendly. I'll go there again just to try a different thing on the menu. read more

I came on a weekday during lunch hour. It was my first experience and i truly enjoyed it with my husband. It was funnt because he was shocked the food came in a bag and you wear a bib and gloves. There is also a bin to put your garbage in. It was funny seeing bis expression. but we had a great time.. he chose the garlic flavour and it was alright..I let him try my Cajun 1lb mix chicken and shrimp and we have to agree my flavour was best. The prices are listed on a board on the wall. we had mixed half lvbs chicken and half lb shrimps. It was good for $18 that day. The service was good it was quiet when we went and honestly portions are good. we ate at 12 and were still full at 5pm. The corn is delicious I wish you got more pieces. also i had the potatoe which was nice and jucy also the rice is fluffy and white. For a fun experience I reccoment this place. try somethig new with friends. my husband and i had peel the shrimp challenge. aahaha He got better at peeling them so maybe he will help me.out in the kitchen at home more aahahaha read more

Daaaaa'aaaaam!!!!! What a place. It really doesn't matter which of their seafood bakes you pick, you can't go wrong!!! My personal favorite sauces are the garlic (and it is definitely heavy on garlic) and the Cajun sauces. Those are ridiculously awesome!!! Also add some heat. We went with medium and it was on the light side for me. Next time I'll go hot. We sampled the king crab, dungenous crap, crawfish and shrimp bakes. Sadly we jumped right in and couldn't take any pictures in time. You will have to take my word, this place is amazing!!!!!!! read more

First time trying captains boil and I think i have one of my new favourite restaurants! I'm a big fan of Cajun so the cajun fries definitely hit the spot. We ordered the Crawfish, King Crab legs, and the clams. The Crawfish wasnt as good as the ones in the one in Vegas but these were definitely good. The King Crab legs tasted fresh and not overly salty like the frozen ones you find at a grocery store. Teh clams were also great, they absorbed the stock and had an amazing kick. I'd def come again! Cant wait to be back. read more

A couple of months ago i went to a captains boil for the first time, the food and the experience was outstanding and i had to go back. I came back to the captains boil but this time a different location. The food really is out of this world, all of the flavours are right on and give the customer the option to choose from so many different things. The customer can choose the type of meat they want between crab, muscles clams etc, the flavour if they want more of a plain flavour like a lemon or a mix of everything called captains boil lastly you can also choose the spice that you want on your meat. The food all comes in plastic backs and you east with you hands. All of the seafood was cooked very well and we loved our captains boil snow crab and our garlic muscles. The only thing that was a slight disappointment to this location was the service. The waitress was very nice don't get me wrong but wasn't really sure what was going on. She had to come over and show us the receipt to make sure she had everything we ordered and had to come back later asking us what we were missing... We only ordered 3 things. The food is really oily which makes it hard to be the only thing you eat in a night, as it goes right through your body. Overall the captains boil is a great restaurant for a night out. The food is great and so is the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant is not very busy on weekdays which is good as the food is able to come out really quick. read more

This is my second Captain's Boil location visit and fourth seafood-boil type restaurant since discovering them in Toronto. It was just amazing! The Captain's seasoning, which is a combination of all of the options, is addictive. If you're so inclined you might even want to order some garlic bread and sop up some of the deliciousness! For us it's shrimps, clams, snow crabs, and lobster. In the future we'll give the king crab a try too. The lobster bisque was very good but in the presence of the intense flavor of the seafood almost tastes bland by comparison, though on its own I doubt that would be the case. A bit pricey but worth it for the occasional treat! read more

YUMMY!! Captain's Boil has multiple locations across the GTA - this restaurant in particular is just across from Vaughan Mills. It was the perfect place for us to relax & unwind after doing some major shopping therapy! The lunch menu wasn't very big so it didn't take us long to make up our minds - we decided to go with two fish teriyaki sizzling plates (one with lemon zest mixed with black pepper and the other with roasted garlic with melted butter; both non-spicy). Our server offered us these cute bibs so they could prevent sauce from getting on our shirts. They also have these washing stations in the middle of the restaurant so you can easily wash your hands during your meal without going to far from your table. Pretty thoughtful I thought! Our food came and boy were we surprised! They came with crawfish, shrimps, clams, mussels and and fried fish as well as rice drizzled with the sauce of our choices. Not bad at all for $10.95!! I liked the lemon & black pepper the most - the lemon bought out the freshness of the seafood and the pepper added a slight kick to balance everything out nicely. Service was excellent! Our server checked in a few times with us during the meal to make sure we had everything we needed and liked our food. I will come back to try out other items on the menu! read more

The worst Captain's Boil location and the worst Manager and staff! We went there as a group of 8, then the receptionist told us that we will be charged 15% additional because of their group policy (greater than 6 people). So i told them ok we will just sit on different tables so it will be less than 6 and also pay different tabs so we cannot be classified as a group, she then told us we cannot do that as she already saw as a group of 8! WTH what on earth did I just heard???! Told her that's not fair, why do you even care if you saw as a group?? I can even ask half our group to re-enter the door so they will not consider us a a group! The receptionist then called for the worst manager of all time! She started shouting and asking what's the problem and all, hahaha this is seriously messed-up restaurant and management. No customer service etiquette! So if you don't want to ruin your day, don't ever go to this location. I will report this to Consumer protection, and i will not stop until this Manager get dismissed! read more

The captain's boil is messy, flavourful, and a fun experience. The concept of this primary seafood based restaurant is simple; pick your seafood (you're charged by the weight) and your flavour and your spiceness level. It comes served to you in a clear bag, which you have to dig in yourself (hence, the messy part). The bag contains all the spices and flavour, so you're given gloves and a cute bib to wear so you don't stain your clothes (believe me, this happens even with the bib on). It's fairly expensive and if you're not there with a small group (e.g. 2 people), you end up order just some of the items on the menu. The flavour can get kind of boring after eating the same thing, so be sure to add some side dishes. Personally, I don't think it makes the $$ worth it I would recommend coming for lunch, when they have their lunch special which is the "SIZZLING PLATE COMBO" *A choice of Teriyaki rice served with our seafood assortment* Teriyaki: Fish Teriyaki or Chicken Teriyaki and Seafood Assortment: 2 Crawfish 2 Mussels 2 Shrimps 2 Clams. It's less than $15 from what I remember (but not very filling). Service was good. They accepted reservations no problem, and we arrived on a weekend for lunch (it was fairly quiet and empty). read more

The competition for seafood boils is heating up near Vaughan Mills, first with the opening of Boiling Harbour and now with Captain's Boil. Captain's Boil is located next to Yang's Teppanyaki, for those like me who circle around trying to find this place. I ordered the shrimp and the mussels in garlic sauce. It didn't take too long for the piping hot food to arrive. Both the shrimp and the mussels were tasty, pretty much the same size as at Boiling Harbour. However, I liked the flavor of the sauce more at the Captain's Boil. It's less oily. There is definitely less sauce here than at Boiling Harbour, which is great if you don't want to drench your gloves in the sauce, but not great if you enjoy drinking the sauce. You're not provided with a bucket for shells, but asked to leave them on the table. I found that to be unpleasant. The wait staff was super attentive. I was able to get water refills regularly. They kept asking if I needed anything and how things were going, to the point that a number of them asked one right after the other. read more

4.5/5. I've heard about The Captain's Boil for a bit over a year. This place has franchised supppper fast around the GTA, and it finally arrived in my city! I noticed the place was renovating for a Captain's Boil opening, and anxiously awaited for its arrival. LO AND BEHOLD, on my way to BP in front of this plaza, I saw a flashing OPEN sign at The Captain's Boil and figured that since I was dining in anyway, I may as well try this place I've been putting off. I entered the storefront, and there was no reception at stand. I wasn't even sure if I was hallucinating because I didn't see anyone inside when I was looking in from outside. However, once stepping in, a young gentleman named Kyle welcomed my sister and I to The Captain's Boil, and seeing how it was our first time there, he explained how the menu worked. My sister ultimately ended up buying the lunch specials, which are sizzling hot plates. I tried Fish in Captain's Boil flavour - Mild, and she tried Chicken in Captain's Boil flavour - Medium. Both were listed as $10.95. I also ordered a side of Sweet Potato Fries for $5.95. My sister's dish arrived first, then my fish and fries came shortly after. We were the only table eating in, but hey, fast service so ;) The fries were super crunchy and a good amount of sweet. I also think it was a fair portion for the price tag. I then put on my gloves and gave it a go at the seafood. I. LOVED. IT. The sauce/flavour started to feel heavy (fatty) near the end of my meal, but I guess that's part of the deal. I also tried my sister's chicken. I prefer the fish a lot better because it has a crunch to it. I should mention that crawfish was supposed to be included in the lunch special, but it's a seasonal item. Since we didn't get our crawfish, we got 3 of every other seafood item that came with the lunch special. I'm normally not a fan of oysters but the oysters here had an UMF to them. Deeeelicious. Service was good. There was an older woman working who asked how our meal was, and Kyle offered water several times during our stay. At the end of our meal, we had to wait a couple minutes before we saw anyone that could serve us. Another table of 2 had entered in after us, so I guess everyone was prepping food for them. Washrooms were spotless. Definitely recommended. read more

Hands down gotta be one of the better seafood boils location in the City. The service was on point 100% not to mention fresh seafood made to order. If you haven't been to a seafood boil yet, this place is the place to go. This location is much bigger than its sister locations Yonge St. or College St. - they also went all out on decor and even have a bar area. You can watch the ball game or a hockey game while eating delicious seafood boils and washing it all down with a cold one. The Captain's Boil franchise is already great, but this location is also run by a great family - yup most of the staff are family. This is why their service is top notch. Note worthy: they have a washing station in the middle of the restaurant. Excellent idea for those people like me who do not like gloves or bibs - wash your hands right near your table instead of going all the way to the washroom. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Eat then go shopping in Vaughan Mills. read more

Service is garbage. The waitresses are rude. My friend and I ordered the same thing and he got his food 45 minutes before me. We didn't get our drinks for Atleast 10 minutes after we sat down, we could literally see them sitting on top of the bar and none of the waitresses were doing anything about it. Expensive af. Food was mediocre at best and portions were terribly small. 4 adults and 2 kids, we got the Captain's boil (largest one they had) which was supposed to cost $230, but our final bill came to $435 because of 2 cokes and 2 virgin Caesars. Would have been fun if we didn't leave still hungry and we're small to average in weight people. Service was "meh". Our corn and potatoes were served at the end of the meal because they forgot about it and we had to ask about it. Seafood was fresh but their tomato based sauce was "meh". Atmosphere was somewhat promising but there was only one lobster/crab opener to share amongst 4 adults. First and last time here. Basically a little better than Red Lobster and more expensive too with a lack of service. read more

The staff took forever to let us take a table meanwhile plenty were open. After maybe 20 minutes we were sat at a table where we waited almost another 40 minutes to have our order taken. Then another 25 minutes to get the food. To top that off my food was brought and 18 mins later my partners was. She was missing her rice and they never even asked us what we wanted to drink. The staff never payed any attention to any of their customers and were more than happy to chat Among themselves and talk poorly of their customers right in front of us all. My partner finally had everything given to her about 30 minutes before the store closed. To somehow top off this terrible experience we were almost charged for another mix n match meal that we never ordered. We will never be coming back to this location and I strongly urge costumers to visit another location no matter how far it is. read more

This place is my go to for when I'm craving seafood boil. The service: Very friendly, the vibe I get from this place is family oriented. There wasn't a set server for each section of the restaurant like how it is with traditional restaurants. Everyone just works together which is pretty nice. The food: My go to here is snow crab legs. I normally don't eat seafood except for the occasional craving of snow crab legs. I typically get 1lb snow crabs in mild captains boil sauce and an order of fries to share. These two orders are enough to fill me up but not for my dinner companions. Ive yet to try the lunch special but it seems like a really good deal. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Captains Boil Vaughan to others! read more

Came here for dinner and ordered a lb of shrimp as well as a lb of crawfish. Our server Daniel was very helpful with helping us go through the different menu items and the average dining experience. After receiving our food, Daniel even helped show us how to remove the shells and eat the crawfish as it was my first time! Not gonna lie, I've sad to admit I've been missing for so long. The signature boil sauce was amazing and was perfect to enjoy with either the fries/fried rice It does get messy so get ready to put on your bib and gloves and there's also a station to wash your hands near the center of the dining area so no need to stress about the mess. All in all, I had a great dining experience and would come back again. read more

Yooo honestly this place is heaven sent!!! It has that sailor/on the sea vibe. The interior is very distinguishable to what The Captain Boil is. The service wasn't the "greatest" but it was decent, very attentive, brought out the food fast, probably lacking personality but that's my own personal opinion. Now the food, my girlfriend got the snow crab legs, the white shrimp and the sweet yam fries and with the Captian Boils sauce. I ordered the 1 lb Chicken wings, and the Cajun fries. The captain boil sauce is all 3 of the sauces in one and it's truly an amazing flavor. The food was amazing and definitely worth coming back again and again. They didn't have the crawfish which kinda sucked because we were looking forward to it while looking at the menu. They should have blacked it out... They offer bibs and gloves, but only real Gs use there hands. It can definitely get messy, but when your a pro at eatting shell fish messy isn't even part of the experience. They also have washing stations to wash your hands right in the middle of the restaurant... I give it a SOLID 5 stars and will definitely come back! read more

Food: always great and delicious. This is my preferred location when going to captains boil as ive been to several others. This location has their flavours consistent. Service: depends whos working but the younger guy there with his hair combed back is always on top of things when it comes to take out, table service, or clean up. Everyone else is pretty average. Price: OVER PRICED. They post "market value" but we all know the prices are heavily jacked up even when market value goes up and down their prices remain high at all times. read more

This spot is a unique dining experience in the GTA. Clean, friendly and full of delicious, fresh seafood, you will not be disappointed. A great pick for the whole family or as a fun experience for friends or your adventuresome date. You will find lots to eat, drink and enjoy. There are both seafood and non-seafood options, as you please. Indeed, this is literally a hands-on dining experience. But, fear not. You are provided with bibs and gloves to keep things clean. If you're looking for something else, the menu has you covered. I enjoyed various sharables. Crab cakes, calimari and mussels were all top notch. Cajun Sauce, OMG, it was absolutely delicious, when I finshed, I wept, for there was no more food, and the bill had come. I got the the sizzling plate combo which includes chicken teriyaki with 2 crawfish, 2 mussels, 2 clams, and 2 Shrimp and with your choice of side and sauce, I picked, broccoli and sausage, with Cajun, the flavours that were packed into that sauce were endorphin exploding and adrenaline pumping. My mom had the same, but with fish and the Captain's boil sauce, which after tasting the cajun, was good, but some what mediocre, and my dad had the crawfish with the captains boil sauce, with corn and potatoes. Okay, it was Friday after shopping at Vaughan Mills. We crossed the next plaza and went here. We liked the menu! I loved the sizzling plate! Why only 4 stars? Can't complain about service. Staffs are friendly. One star less for slippery floors! It was like a skating rink. Made us wait 30 mins, didn't take any names. When a few of us asked, dude started yelling and refused service. I would boycott this place.

After a long day of work and running errands, we were able to finally grab dinner. We drove around for any places opened after 9 and this place opened til 10. We were just going to grab a quick bite and drive back home. We parked Infront at 9:15pm and we had every intention to apologize for the late arrival. Our rule was never to enter if they were closing within 30 mins. We worked in resturants before and understand. The second we walked in, we were greeted by a miserble look from the older lady with glasses. She sounded annoyed and I couldn't hear what she said to me so I assumed she told us to go to a clean table. I walked over and she seems even more annoyed and said "sweety, I said I'm cleaning the table for you just wait." So rudely. At that point I was like okay it was more than three times she was rude so we will just leave. While she was cleaning the table, the couple beside the booth where she was cleaning said they wouldn't stay if she talked like that to them, I agreed and left. We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and feeling stupid about apologizing for the late arrival when the whole encounter was just so rude and unpleasant. I don't understand why would you work at a restaurant if you do not have the patience or the right attitude. Many captain boil establishments closed down and what most people do not understand is that the customers help make the business successful. We would rather drive to the captain boil that is out of town than to come here again. Happy eating elsewhere, save yourself the trouble and drive to the one on Yonge and Steele's. They always have a smile on their faces! read more

Oh, another great seafood place! I stopped in for lunch on my way to Chatime (yes, almost every day) and I wanted something different. Normally I just go straight to the King Crab Legs, but for lunch? Too much garlic before afternoon meetings. On the lunch menu they had a Lobster Roll, so I gave it a try. Done as a typical example, with lobster stuffed into the sliced top of a hot dog style bun, it was a nice meal, especially when I was nowhere near Massachusetts. The only problem is, when I eat seafood, I like a lot of it. A Lobster Roll is a nice snack, but not hefty enough for a busy afternoon. I'll try something different for lunch, and suit up in the plastic bib for dinners. Be back soon! read more

Ok so.... Captain my Captain, the last time I came in I was discouraged with the response from the management, Food was good but response from management when they knew I was with a food magazine was bad. When I say bad I mean dismissive. Today tried again to see if anything had changed. Still empty at lunch time. The food was the best. Ordered the catfish and took the home the Seafood rice. AMMMMAAAAZIING. Brittany Taylor (Director of Training) Thats what I call a woman that is on the ball. Food and customer service is a dance that must be supported by the other. Woodstock we must and I mean Must get this place going. Look at local flavor for a discount but the food is well worth the price either way. No reason this should not be your lunch stop with all the restaurants on and off HWY 92. This is not a burger or chicken place. Those are great, but this is a little more for that family experience.
