We checked out the Captain's Platter loaded with shrimp, mussels, clams, snow crab legs, broccoli, corn and potatoes! The meal is amazing! We had a memorable experience enjoying the seafood with our hands. Consult with your server before ordering your meal. They can help you to explore some delicious seafood dishes especially if it's your first time. Don't forget to order the veggies and seafood fried rice with the seafood platter. I would definitely recommend coming here to the Scarborough location for a family dinner, a fun date, or hanging out with friends. Huge parking lot, clean environment, and absolutely incredible customer service. 4505 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1S 1V3

A fun eat with your hand experience but overall very salty. For a family of 4, we shared a few things for dinner. Some are hits while others are misses: Sailor's A Set: OK: 1 lb garlic shrimp- lots of flavour but very salty HIT: Fried Rice- excellent flavour! MISS: Cajun fries- extremely salty. Also, we had 2 baskets of these and one is crispy while the other is soft. Seems to be inconsistent frying. MISS: Garlic Bread (3pc)- Very soggy! Mushy texture and not toasted at all. Also needed more garlic HIT: 1 lb wings- this was the best dish amongst everything. Very fresh and flavourful and salt level not overwhelming like it is on everything else. PASS: Fish and Chips (Reg)- 3 pcs of Haddock with cajun fries. Fried ok, but the flavour is exactly like frozen battered fish, little off-putting. Fries are quite spicy and salty if that's your thing. Too much seasoning for me, so I'll be passing on this next time. Needed to drink a lot of water after this meal; not a place I'll come to regularly. Also, unless you're getting a glass of beer, all their bowls and cutlery are disposable. Lots of plastic waste

I like the idea of this place and of course, it's always fun to eat with your hands. Make a mess--They got you covered with houses, bibs and a washing station right in the restaurant. We got the snow crab legs and mussels. Mussels are consistently meaty here and the crab legs were sweet and meaty as well. I got rice, potato, corn, and okra as the sides. The corn was delicious and I enjoyed the Okra. I would advise not having those in the bags of seafood though. The sauces were so incredibly oily. The bag of mussels had almost no sauce. It was just filled with a red oil. It's like they have a vat of sauce, and scooped the top layer for us. I couldn't bear to eat it, so I ended up squeegie-ing each piece off.... I found it not only oily, but very salty. We barely got through our two pounds of seafood. Maybe a one time visit for us. I prefer a different but similar concept restaurant. I was also quoted a different price at the start of dinner and what appeared on my final bill. Honestly, I didn't find it worth trying to flag someone down to correct. I wouldn't have minded the higher price, if they had been honest up front. It just left me with a bad taste at the end of the meal. I understand why it's such a popular idea and I encourage you to try it for yourself. I personal would get my seafood fix elsewhere.

New policy change from Head Office, only 1 Sailor's Seafood Feast per table. Such BS

Update: Came back to Captain's Boil since I got an invite to come for dinner. This time they let our table order more than two of the Sailor's Seafood Feast. The last time I was here, they mentioned there was a new policy from head office where there's a limit of two per table. Only reason I didn't give full star is because the apron (or bib?) is made of paper and rips easily. Overall, I can now say that you should check this place out if you are craving a seafood feast. Note that I got a reply from their account that said no such policy existed.

My friends have typically insisted on traveling to the North York location after having one bad experience here where their sauce was watery, but we came back to give it another chance. It was my first time at this location. I haven't been to Captain's Boil in a while but my first notice was that they've spruced up their menu and now there's more selection and other dishes to choose from. They also now have different combo packages. I ordered a pound of mussels with mild captain's boil sauce. I usually order a side of fries and a corn but this time I forgot to. The mussels were tasty and the sauce was flavourful. I think Captain's Boil is a little inconsistent with their quality, because I've noticed across chains that sometimes their sauce tastes better and worse during different visits. A pound of seafood wasn't enough to fill me. After I was done the mussels I didn't really want to back track and order more, so I ended up stopping by elsewhere for quick take out snack food. I do enjoy the environment at this location more than the other location though. It's more spacious and the set up feels nicer. The parking area is a bit awkward and limited though... I had to park in the plaza next door but it was an easy and quick walk over. Service was good, nothing notable about it. Don't expect to get full off of a pound of seafood... ordering fries or other sides is necessary to leave with a full stomach! The sauce is good and quality was good. Captain's Boil is one of those places I'll crave every so often, it's a nice place to revisit every once in a while.

Had a great experience for my first time at Captains Boil. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in. They promptly assisted me to my seat once I told them about my reservation. When we sat down, our server introduced herself, and asked if we had any questions on the menu and if we wanted to have anything to drink. She was able to answer all of our questions, including the specials, price differences etc (she was basically very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant) The food came promptly after we ordered and wow, I was excited to get down and dirty with my hands. We ordered everything mild with the captains boil sauce (which tasted amazing). Everything was hot, and the sauce was very flavourful! The hardest part was keeping our phone and clothes clean, and grabbing napkins haha. Will definitely come back again in the future for another feast. Thank you for making our experience

2.5 Star for lunch Experience which offers Chicken/Fish Teriyaki with a side of seafood for $10.95 We were here on Saturday around 2:00 pm for a late lunch. The restaurant was not too busy and we were seated promptly and was given a cup of room temperature water in plastic cup. (suggestion: maybe some iced water would be better?) Chicken Teriyaki with Captain Boil Sauce Medium Spicy - The chicken was tender and flavourful - The hot plate was sizzling hot when served Fish Teriyaki with Lemon Garlic Sauce Fire Spicy - The hot plate was warm with no sizzle at all! - The fish was mushy and more batter than fish - The sauce was lurk warm and the seafood was not really cooked through, especially for the clams and mussels which has this mushy texture The 2 craw fish on each of the order were probably the worse. The tail meat was tasteless and mushy. We ended up just have one bite and left the rest untouched. Maybe the side seafood would have tasted better if it was served/prepared in one of the bags instead of just putting them on the hot plate and served with sauce on top? At least they would be hot instead of warm? I would not recommend the hot plate special! Serving those the way it was really not really represent the real seafood boil experience! Ordering something from the actual menu probably would be the best bet. My first ever Captain Boil's experience was a disappointment. Maybe I should not have order those specials..

I've been here four times in the last four weeks and I have to give them points for consistency. The seafood has been fresh every time and the service has been great. I even have my own personal server now, Nia. ;) She's great! My personal favourite is the snow crab with Captain's Boil spices, corn on the cob, and Cajun fries. The spicy garlic butter is delicious! My fellow diners usually go for the clams and shrimps. Tonight, we tried the crawfish and nobody was crazy about it. Their ice cream is always good! Each visit, I've been with different friends and family. All of them said they'll be back. So will I.

Lowering my score to a 3/5. Today I ordered a lobster with the captains boil sauce. Starting with Quality: As always captains boil never fails with flavor. Regardless of what sauce you select, it will satisfy your taste buds. I did however notice that the captains boil sauce was over powering the taste of the lobster. I still enjoyed it but it would be nice if it wasn't over powering. Portions and price: $42.00 for 1 lobster???? That lobster didn't even satisfy me and I was still very hungry. If you're a lobster lover and you're on a budget and want good quality lobster then go to red lobster. 42.00 gets you one lobster at captains boil and there's barely any meat..so disappointed 39.00 gets you a rock lobster tail with veggies and one side at red lobster. Not worth 42.00 at Captains boil. Sorry captain! I'm off your ship. I will be back for the sizzling plate because I think that's the only item on the menu where I can be satisfied and not worry about my wallet.

I am an avid customer of this particular location and I generally don't have any complaints. Most of the time, you get to choose where to sit. Your bibs and gloves are already laid out on the table and they immediately bring out water to you. The service is always on point (at least for all the times I've been here) and they tend to check up on the table every once in a while. They also upgraded their menus with a few more new items/combos (they have daily specials now too). I always order the pound of shrimp and mussels in the captain's boil sauce with a side of steamed rice. If it's your first time, I definitely recommend trying anything with the special captain's boil sauce - it's literally just all the sauces mixed together but it's SO GOOD. I like getting the shrimp and mussels because they're both much meaty-er than let's say, crawfish (which I do not suggest to get at all because of the bare minimum meat). Speaking of, if you get the sizzling platter, which is also really good, it typically comes with crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, rice and your choice of fish or chicken HOWEVER, you can substitute the crawfish with more of the other seafood(s) included. The cajun fries and seafood fried rice are also really good... honestly, I'm just a big fan of Captain's Boil generally. Overall, this is a good casual place for seafood and to get messy with family and friends. They cater to big groups and give free ice cream when it's your birthday AND their music is always bangin'.

This location of Captain's Boil has quickly become one of my family's go to spots for both dining in and grabbing take-out. Whenever we come here we're always greeted by the staff and service is always super quick. Our normal order is usually a pound of shrimp with the captain's boil sauce and their seafood rice, which is always very flavourful. I've also tried their clams and mussels which I would also recommend. I believe they have 4 sauces you can choose from, however I always stick to the classic captain's boil sauce. In addition, you can choose from mild, medium and spicy depending on your spice tolerance. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place as staff are friendly, service is great and food always hits the spot!

The 12 wings and beer would have been such a good deal except the drink was pretty watered down. We brought it up to the waitress so hopefully they change that in the future. Personally, I felt like many of the dishes were elevated or fancier versions of Asian classics. The crab truffle chawanmushi was super creamy, with crab meat on top and truffle flavors. For $40...ya idk it wasn't anything crazy and I would have loved it with a bowl of rice (maybe that's me being too Chinese lol). But also I've seen other review of the chawanmushi and it seems like every time, the amount of crab on it is different. Mine didn't seem to have as much compared to the other pictures I have seen which just tell me that they have inconsistencies. It just felt like a lot to just be eating on its own. The mala cream udon was really tasty, I loved the creaminess, cheesiness, and the addition of Chinese pork and spices but it also felt like something that could be make at home. The tuna tataki came with only three pieces for $22, which felt quite small for the price. The flavors were good, but the portion was underwhelming. My favorite was probably the Basque cheesecake it had a rich, creamy texture with a slight hint of saltiness. The Korean fried chicken sliders were also great, the crispy chicken with a well-balanced sauce. For drinks, we got the Zazatar and Golden Pear, and both were really good. The Zazatar, in particular, was quite strong which I liked. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite feel worth the price. For this style of food, I think you could find similar options and flavors at a more reasonable price point elsewhere in Markham. Nothing of the dishes like blow me away which is why I'm saying this. The staff were very kind and attentive, which I appreciated. However, the timing of the dishes was a bit off. We received and finished the tuna, then the sliders came out, followed by the udon. Finished that and then we waited about 15-20 minutes before my main (the chawanmushi) arrived, which by that point my partner had already long finished eating. I understand that chawanmushi takes longer to prepare since it's steamed, but a heads-up or better coordination with the rest of the dishes would have been nice. Like severing the appetizers at the same time and serving the mains at the same time. Instead of having the dishes come out one by one and such a long wait between the mains. The space itself is beautiful, with an upscale vibe, great for catching up I don't regret trying it, but it's probably not somewhere I'd return to.

It's a great space for conversations or to work from with comfortable seating and space. The only downside are the drinks being served in paper cups instead of reusable cups. Great place for Japanese brunch if you're in the area!

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

Was seated in their dinning hall ( the other side is more of a bar) and ordered a brunch tower for two. The tower includes their signature malaysian scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, bacon, Brussel sprouts, toast with buttermilk pancakes stacked at top of the tower. The tower was beautifully presented and what I love most about the tower is their pancakes. Truly fluffy and light with whipped cream on top of it. Overall, service was efficient and attentive, often checked on and refilling water. On top of that, the restaurant has great decor and parking is provided in the back of the restaurant. Its considered on a slightly higher end for brunch ($20-30 range), but it was truly an amazing experience. They also have daily promos so worth checking out for dinner and late night deals.

I must say that I do understand why people are drawn to the restaurant - it is very pretty and makes for wonderful pictures! This includes the lovely visuals of the food, which is beautifully presented and extremely photogenic. The taste of the food, although quite acceptable, fell just a bit short of its looks. The variety of colours was not matched with a variety of flavours, and everything was somewhat on the salty and greasy side. That being said, we very much enjoyed the potato hash, pancakes, and French toast. The portion sizes also outdid themselves - if you're coming here for brunch, just be prepared for a long nap in the afternoon! Service was excellent: prompt, helpful, and friendly. The interior is fairly spacious and elegantly decorated. Overall, a pleasant experience even if it's not the most spectacular - and perhaps worth a visit for some based on the aesthetics alone.
