I've been here a handful of times and my daughter who took me here, is almost a regular. It's a fun place to eat if you love seafood, don't mind getting messy, and have time to really dig in! We were greeted quickly upon entering and shown to a comfy booth. The seafood was excellent as usual. I love their okra. The corn is always perfectly cooked. The Cajun fries arrived piping hot. The rice was enhanced with the sauce on top. Fun and yummy early Mother's Day lunch! Best thing was it wasn't as crowded as usual. We will definitely be back! read more

We visited here for their Mother's Day special offer: 2 snow crab legs, fried shrimp basket, bacon wrapped scallops, 2 regular sides and 2 premium sides for $129.99. It was great selection of seafood for a great price. We chose "potato" and "corn" from regular sides and "broccoli" and "sausages" from premium sides menu. For heat level, we chose mild which had a kick to it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food fresh and delicious and was more than enough for 2 people and we ended up bringing the leftovers home. read more

Visited here a couple times and the seafood is amazing! The fried rice is really well cooked and the seafood to compliment is delicious. The workers were polite and the food served came in a timely manner. Despite being so busy during Valentine's Day, they still paid attention to each of us- giving us water without asking and checking in every now and then to make sure everything was okay. My favourite part was the seafood fried rice. This Captain's Boil location is close to Sherway Mall which is convenient if you happen to be in the area looking for some delicious seafood! The place did get extremely busy so I would recommend booking a reservation in advance. read more

Very good food with lots of flavour. Food is always fresh and delicious. Our kids love it as well!

We came here to try the coconut curry flavour sauce. It was so creamy and blends well with the mussels. We love how the food came fairly quickly and the server was attentive. The fried rice was great carb to absorb all the flavours at the end. The restaurant is clean and neat. It has a large seating area. read more

I am travelling on a surprise birthday trip for a longtime friend, and I brought my preteen. it was his first time on a flight, first time to toronto, and first time out for crab. we arrived later than expected and we were still accommodated in beautiful fashion, with kindness and patience. Our food and service was above and beyond. thank you for lifelong memories. read more

I love captains boil and I have to say they are very consistent at every locations I've been to! This location is no different the captain's boil sauce was top tier! We got almost every seafood option on the menu and it was delicious. Seating had options inside and outside, I love a booth so we sat inside. Drink selection was not too vast but the food makes up for it. I strongly suggest getting the rice and corn as your sides because they absorb the sauce sooo well! Also get the Cajun fries cause they are a favorite and made crispy every time. The best experience is going as a group, it's always a fun time and a great atmosphere. PSA: captains boil can get very messy and the bags tend to leak so be careful read more

The Captain's Boil - a plate of food on a table - Seafood Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Visited for the first tinge on father's day just after 4 there was no line up but as we ate the place got busy. The staff was always checking up on us yet our food took three times as long to come I watched two tables who came after me and a large group get their food before my table of three even got a cup of water. Once the food came it was extremely hot temperature wise and the captain boil flavour was just the right amount of spice. We ordered mussels crab legs shrimp lobster and Cajun rice. The Cajun rice is a popular choice highly recommend. read more

The Captain's Boil - Cajun rice - Seafood Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Came in on a friday night after finding out they opened just this week. Space is super clean and huge. I've been to other captains boil before and always felt rushed and crowded but this one was comfortable and relaxing. They have a huge sink for people to clean their hands throughout their meals if you wish to choose so (it does get very very messy!!) As you are seated you are given this cute little plastic apron and some plastic gloves. The table also supplies a large roll of papertowel and a bucket for your shells. Menu is very straightforward.. they have an entire side for seafood and then another side for other dishes like chicken wings, cajan fries, okra, rice dishes and etc. Prices were also quite fair as well. We opted to do the lobster and shrimp in a bag as well as the chicken wing/fries and cajan seafood fried rice. For two people it was too much food!!! The shrimp was cooked in their captain boil sauce and the hottest heat they have. It has a really spicy kick to it... and i love spicy food but i was crying for water constantly!! The shrimp was cooked perfectly.. not overly chewy and had easy to peel shell. The lobster we opted for the milder spice and that was quite tasty too. The lobster is sold at seasonal price and for this one we got it was 38.99. They did however overcooked the lobster slightly as it was more rubbery than i liked. Chicken wings and fries basket were also great in portion size for 11.99. Fries were a tade spicy and we had a total of about 6 wings in the basket as well. The fried rice comes in a big plate and can easily be shared amongst 4 people. Service was also top notch. Everyone was super friendly and making sure everything was going ok. I am so glad captains boil came into our area!!! Coming from the east end originally... were happy to slowly see more and more yummy asian eats!!! read more

Not much of a fan of seafood but, I definitely wouldn't mind having Captains boil when I am craving it! The concept of the overall restaurant is nice in a way that, it's unique from other restaurants from the messy eating! We ordered a few dishes (as pictured) but one of my favourite dishes is the chicken teriyaki lunch platter - which gives you a mix of chicken & seafood (with their captain boil's sauce); which is also a good deal! Not going to lie, their captain boil's sauce is one of my favourite sauces ever!! Tip: ask for extra sauce before the meal comes out tho !!! The cheesy mussels and corn were also full of flavour !! Maybe one day, when I'm REALLLLYY craving seafood I will finally order the bag of seafood, lol! Also check us out on Instagram @cindysfood ! read more

Ordered takeouts a few times from this location. Nothing too special and it's just really mediocre. I still think the captain's boil is quite pricey and the quality of the food does not meet the expectations for the price you pay! read more

I love seafood and let me tell you, this place is a real life treasure chest filled with precious foods and brilliant flavors for your palate. I had a pound of hot spicy shrimp, snow legs, steamed okras, shrimp fried rice (huge portion), raw oysters , and a tall glass of Alexander Keith's beer. Who said that Atlantis isn't a real place? Well I felt like King Trident after my feast and the kingly service received from the hard working yet friendly staff. The interior design and decor is very warm and inviting, the lighting is just right. Great experience here and don't forget to put on your bib and gloves if you don't want to get messy. read more

Service here was not so great. The food was ok. I have been to other locations where the fresh oysters were huge... here they were soooo small. Portions for the snow crab was not as regular. So I am confused when they say it is weighed. Mussels were ok. Seasoning here was more on the saltier side. This location is definitely not the same standards as others in Richmond Hill or Ottawa. I will not be back to this one. read more

The ambiance, customer service and overall experience of this place gets a 10/10. Cant wait until they do an ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB

Food was good but the service was what killed it for my sister and I. We went to Captain's yesterday evening and were seated for a while without menu's. The server finally comes and asks if we've been to Captain's Boil. My sister said yes and then the server asked what we wanted to order. How can we decide what we want without even looking at the menu?? We ordered the snow crab legs, mussels, clams, 6 oysters, and cajun fries. I also ordered a drink and it never came until I asked the server. The oysters were disappointing for the price point. Small and about $2.67/oyster. Besides the oyster,s the food was great. I enjoyed my non-spicy boil sauce. Service really killed my first time experience at Captain's Boil. When crab legs are ordered, it's normally expected to come with crackers. I asked for a cracker and they were dirty as if someone just used it. Since the server wasn't very useful I just used it because it's not like I'm eating the shell or eating off of the cracker. Next time I'll just go to LA Boil for a better experience. I shouldn't have even tipped 15%, service was very disappointing. read more

D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S!!!! I know a good seafood boil so coming here I was slightly skeptical but man oh man were we satifisfied. Highly recommend getting it family style and sharing. You pick your seafood first, then your flavor, then your spice level, and you can add sides to go inside. So we did all of the above. We got a pound of crab legs with the Cajun flavor (the most popular and usually my go to at any seafood boil restaurant), a pound of shrimp with the garlic butter (it was aiight but not a life changer flavor- it was what I expected it to be though lol) and a pound of shrimp in the Cajun flavor we added corn and sausage to it. So good!the shrimp come with heads on so it's a little work to get them open but it is fresh seafood ! Be prepared to make a mess! They give you a bib and gloves to help manage the mess haha but it's all part of the fun! We also got a side of seafood fried rice and Cajun french fries which were great. Loved loved loved the fries and puting some sauce in the rice made the rice really good...without it it was slightly dry to me but still good. The prices are not cheap but not expensive either- I feel you get what you pay for ...always check on the market prices of some of the seafood so you know what you are getting into lol. A nice family spot and the music was good too! Sometimes that can make it break it for me! But the music was fun and upbeat ! The environment is a little loud because it is smaller and can get crowded but the food was so good I didn't care ha. If I'm in Toronto again I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I've been to so many Captain's boil locations that by now I can point out which ones have the boil best sauce. This one did not live up to my standards. Service was mediocre and unattentive. As for food, I ordered the usual: shrimp, crab legs, corn, potatoes, and rice. The quantity of shrimp was small the quantity of crab legs was even smaller, the corn was OMG tiny! for $1.25 a piece and the potatoes were...potatoes. Oh, and the rice was pretty hard and dry. Our office is just a few blocks away along the Queensway. Saw that a new location was open so we checked out for lunch. Nice location with lots of detail in the design. Seemed like a much more relaxed environment than the other locations I've been too. Calamari was delicious! Perfectly crunchy and seasoned. We also tried the canjun fried rice. It was quite a large portion and was super tasty. My main order was the teriyaki fish with rice. Wow! Was that a good deal. If you're there before 4 pm for the same price of $11 you get the fish, rice and a seafood assortment which includes 2 mussels, 2 shrimp, 2 crawfish and 2 clams. It was a great way to get a taste of everything. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back! read more

OMG!! My first time & I love this place. I am actuaIly waiting for my bill & had to post a review. I am a seafood freak. I LOVE SEAFOOD!! Like I would go to Mandarin for crab legs when they had them & have like 5 plates. I loved everything about this place - the food AND the service. I got 1lb of snow crab legs & 1lb of crawfish with potatoes & sausage and a glass of white wine. This was for just myself. I enjoyed everything & it came to $75.15 with tax. Yes it is expensive but asa once in a while treat, it is perfect!! I will definitely come back. If you haven't tried Captain's Boil, I very highly recommend it. read more

I can only give it 3 stars. My first time here was for my birthday and it was so much fun except for when the waiter served a drippy bag of shrimp to my dad and it got all over my dad's lap. The waiter let the drippy bag sit on the table and we had to suggest to him to double bag it so it would stop leaking all over the table. Anyhow, I got the crab legs in the Captain's sauce and they were sooo tasty! I went a second time with just my boyfriend and ordered the crab legs again because they were so good the first time. The crab legs this time were not as great because the meat was still coldish in the centre, not piping hot like the first time. Also, because we had a table for two it was quite cramped and it was kinda gross being able to see into our neighbours trash buckets. Buuuuut, I would still go there again because it's fun and novel eating seafood out of a bag with your hands. read more

horrible service. I Ate at the Queensway location on July 26th my receipt says table 80 receipt # 115419 and Assma. took our order. She greeted us well. Our food was brought out and she never returned to our table. I signalled for her and asked for a refill on our drinks she signalled back and never came. After about 10 minutes. I had to ask another employee for assistance and then he got the drinks. She then brought them over to the table as damage control but then once again was MIA. After waiting so long to get our bill I eventually had to walk to the counter to pay as my bill and once again she showed up at the counter to ask if I wanted to pay at the counter or at the table????. Went to the Captain's Boil on a Saturday night so it's no surprise that it was completely packed. We (party of 4) waited for about 15-20mins and we noticed that they have a high turn over rate (number of people coming out comparison to number of people coming in), so they were able to sit people pretty quickly. The only thing I really didn't like was how much food/beverages was forgotten with our dinners. For example, my mom ordered the rice as her side with her lobster...lobster comes with no rice and nobody even gave her the rice when it was mentioned. Towards the end they said they didn't charge us for the rice but I don't get how that works if it's included with the food we ordered? No proper recourse was taken which annoyed me a bit considering we spent over $200 that night and it was our first time attending... Food review: food has lots of flavour which I'm happy about. The sew/sauce that came with the lobster (Cajun, hot) was so good, their Cajun fries are packed with flavour as well. Secondly, portion sizes are pretty big, and considering the price it's not bad. Overall: I wish they did more to remedy the situation I had with missing and delayed food but because literally nothing with done I'm giving a 3 star. Customer service is just as important in my eyes as the food itself. *fun note* spend over $150 (I think) you get to spin a wheel where you have chances to win prizes. We won a $5 gift card specifically to that location, so when I return I'll make an updated review if anything changes read more

Four of us ended up here for one of our best friend's birthday dinner. He was excited. The other two guys were excited. And yes I was excited too. They were very quick to seat us. Overall I will say the service is very good. Attentive and expedient. Now onto the food. You order your seafood and sauce. As well as some sides. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and the king crab in lemon pepper sauce with lotus root. They made sure my sauce selections had no dairy which was awesome. Then the waiter asked me if I wanted the root in the same bag. I said, "pardon"? Same bag? Apparently all of the seafood and veggies are boiled in bags. And that is how you get them served. So put on your plastic gloves and get used to it. Also, the shrimp are peel and eat. I hate peel and eat. Anyway, the seafood was cooked perfectly. The sauces were good. We also split a fried rice and it was pretty tasty. Overall, since the crab is market price, the total bill was likely about $90 including tax and tip. Expensive, yes. But the seafood really is amazing. Especially the crab. So if you want great seafood, can get past the plastic bags, and have a spare hundo, this is your joint! Will I come back? Yes. But likely sparingly. Only because of the cost. read more

I really hoped this place would satisfy my craving for crawfish and it did! It was finger lickin' good! The taste, the size, the service, it was on point. Well, they did forget my lobster mac and cheese but I forgive them and it was for the best anyways cause we couldn't even finish what we ordered. Best believe it was good as leftovers. We ordered crawfish and shrimp, captain's boil flavor, medium heat (for the other diner's sake), and lobster fried rice. We were told that this location was the only location that was serving exclusive dishes for a limited time (we were here back in Aug 2018). The size of the crawfish were HUGE! We asked them what breed they were and where they got it from and since its taken me a century to write a review, I forgot what they said. The lobster fried rice was good but nothing about it really stood out. They still get 4 stars from me though. read more

Absolutely delicious. Tip: get garlic bread to sop up the amazing Captains Boil sauce mix - which is a combination of garlic butter, lemon pepper, and Cajun. We had lobster, snow crabs, oysters, clams, and shrimp. The teriyaki fish is to be avoided as it's rather bland. We'll be back! read more

I mean this place is more for the experience than the food really. I ordered a pound of prawns. Tasted ok but nothing to yell home about. The cool part was putting on the bib and gloves and eating, along with the pirates/nautical theme of the restaurant. Would I encourage seafood lovers to come here at least once for the experience? Definitely. Would I go again myself? Nope. Food was whatever and kind of pricey. read more

Its okay.. but not amazing. The food was good but the portions are small surprisingly. The sauces were okay as well. It helped that I got a little spice kicked into it or else it would have tasted a little bland for me. We got the king crab legs, mussels, and shrimp with a side order of the fried shrimp/fries basket. It was fun eating them but be careful because they tend to serve it really hot so it takes awhile to peel them off. Service was good and friendly. Since it was our first time there, our waiter took the time to explain the menu etc. and even checked up on us. The place was quite nice too and there wasnt a lot of people when we came around a Sunday afternoon. For two people it was around 69$ plus tip. Honestly for the amount of seafood we got my partner was a little annoyed with the price. I would go back if I haven't found a better place like them in the future. read more

Took our family to eat at Captain Boils on Queensway, Mississauga. I thought we'd give it one more chance but that was a mistake. Food was good but the amount of money we are paying for our meals, I was expecting good service. Server took our orders, he seems nice but talking too fast. Our appetizer came but not our drinks. Had to wave down another server to get our drinks. That too took a while. One of our drinks is green tea. Got the hot water but not the tea bag. Had to ask for that again as well. We got our entree but no one brought our buckets or crackers for our crab & shrimp shells.. Those items we had to ask for again. We ask for water, it came and extremely warm. While tables surrounding us were being looked after , NO ONE CAME to our table throughout the mealtime to see if there's anything else we need or just to do a follow up on how our dinner was. Had to wave down another server from another area just to ask for our bill so we can leave the restaurant. This was a bad experience for us and made our family dinner unenjoyable. Snow crab legs with 2 sides $34. Red Lobster $25. Never coming here again. read more
