My husband and I ordered dinner here last night and we got the crispy potato burger and volcano burger but turned it into a meal for a few extra dollars, we opted for the onions rings and shake. I got the butter pecan shake and my hubby got the cookies and cream. My crispy potato burger wasn't crispy at all and more like a potato mash patty with peas, it wasn't what I was expecting. We both enjoyed the onions rings because they were huge, crispy and not greasy. They look air fried. I ordered through Yelp and paid 55 something and didn't notice I was charged an 8 dollar tip even though we didn't dine in. I don't usually tip if I'm ordering through Yelp and picking it up myself. The pictures were too convincing and I love a burger. When we walked in the missing R in Burger sign should have given us pause. The place was empty and It smelled and looked like someone was just using the place as a hookah lounge. There's a lounge next door, so maybe they can't help the smoke seeping in but I'd still suggest an air cleaner. The room was hazy and the big glass window was sooty. Yes, I ran a napkin on it to confirm. But I wasn't deterred by the smoke because recently we were in some restaurants with smoking sections. They were in another country. The burgers were colossal. Huge patties, buns, and toppings. Mine was stuffed so at first I thought it was the cheese that made mine so salty. I got through half and had to stop because of it. I picked a piece of the other burger to see if it was just mine that was over salted but nope. It was the same super salty meat. I won't be back for their burgers. The onion rings fit in with the colossal theme being thick slices with a think crunchy crust. The seasoning was perfect. We also ordered a side of buffalo wings which we both thought were good but better when not dipped in the runny side dish of ranch dressing. It also could have been blue cheese but it was so runny and bland we couldn't decide. We also got some shakes. The mango one was really delicious. I would have liked it to be thicker and eaten with a spoon. But hubby likes them thinner so he can actually use the straw. So if you like runny shakes and mango go get one. I wouldn't have ordered mine it if I had seen the pink ice cream it came from. It tasted like cheap strawberry flavored ice-cream. It struggled with the rating. DON'T HAVE A COW, MAN Unseasoned and undercooked patties spell disaster for this burger spot in Naperville. My wife and I stopped here to grab some food on our way to Solemn Oath brewery, where we'd reserved a private igloo to celebrate the birthday of yours truly. I have to preface this review by saying we sought out the *closest* burger place, not the *best* one, in an effort to make sure our dinner was still warm by the time we sat down. After placing an order at the counter, they asked us to wait in our car until the food was ready. The Burger Life's menu recycles a lot of the same toppings (gyros, fried egg, bacon, etc) and I wasn't terribly impressed with what I saw. For the most part, the burgers are very basic. My 'Volcano' ($10) was a thumbs-down. The idea was straightforward: a 1/2lb patty stuffed with American cheese, w/red onion, tomato, lettuce, and zinger sauce. Tragically, the burger itself was flavorless, and the middle was rare-to-dark red. It also had a mushy texture, leading me to believe it was frozen and not cooked properly. On the other hand, Nichole S enjoyed the 'Lonestar' ($9.50), a cheeseburger topped with bacon, bbq sauce, and an onion ring. She did, however, comment that it too was "seriously lacking in flavor", so this is a systemic issue with how TBL seasons their patties (if they're seasoned at all). Meal combo included decent curly fries. Onion rings ($5) had nice crispy breading. They have something on their menu called the 'Harambe', a gargantuan entrée consisting of 3 cheeseburgers, a chicken patty, philly steak, gyros and bacon doused in cheese sauce ($22). It's impossible to eat normally so they give you a knife & fork (and presumably, an AED). I'm not sure if this is a clever nod to our departed comrade, or straight up culinary sedition. * TL;DR * The Burger Life has a lot of work to do if they want to be taken seriously in the burger community. Or should I say.....com-MOO-nity? Some people might find their offerings passable, but knowing how delicious a burger can be -- Kuma's Corner, Empire -- this place was a total let down. I ordered a regular cheese burger meal with seasoned fries and a water bottle. But waited about 20 mins for the food to arrive. It was a Friday evening with a decent amount of take out orders and dine-in customers so that made sense. Once the food arrived, it looked good. The burger was decently sized and looked put together however there was just too much mayo on the burger. The burger was pretty much drenched in Mayo and that was all that I was tasting. The burger itself was pretty good and the toppings were fresh. The fries were standard seasoned curly fries, they were crispy. The seating and dining was spacious and clean for a small group but I'm sure you could combine tables if you had like 6+. The staff is really friendly and is on top of making sure the place is clean. My son ordered chicken tenders smothered in BBQ sauce and they are soo good! We made it a meal with onion rings, and WOW! their onion rings are big and delicious. I had to sneak a few . My keto meal of gyros without pita, smothered in pepper jack cheese, and topped with zinger sauce was AMAZING. Everything tasted fresh even though we picked up at 9 pm at night! I'm not into chicken sandwiches and this didn't really tip my scale but compared to most places I would have to say it's good my burger ranks up there in my 40 years as top 10 it's hard to figure out where to start, but once you do, it's awesome. There's not a lot of cheese on it but at the same time every single bite will taste like it's loaded with cheese have their onion rings with my meal. I would have to say ranked up there with the top five I've ever had nice and crispy. The onion was done perfectly. My fiancé had the fries with hers nothing to jump off of a bridge for but they were good. I will let you know whenever I try more. The service was not what you would expect. I think you get more service at McDonald's but I'm not there for the service so I think that's OK as long as they're not expecting a tip, they weren't rude at all. They were actually very nice. I've been going to this place for a few years now, and it's always hit or miss. Today we ordered ahead keeping in mind labor shortages and such. We were told 25 minutes, but it took about 45 minutes total. I ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and my wife got a Lonestar burger. After the food finally came out, my sandwich was cold. I wonder if it was cooked earlier and sat there while they fulfilled other orders; not sure. The chicken wasn't fried very well, either. This place was a bit hard to rank, fast casual, lounge with a random chandelier in the room - awesome. Food wise: Great buns, big burgers with all the accoutrements and they even serve CURLY fries! The board advertises good quality beef, so I went with the Zinger. A burger with a crispy fried onion, bacon and bbq sauce. I'm a huge toppings fan and they assembled the burger beautifully, but when it came to the beef, looks to be on the thin and smaller side and cook level of well done. Prices are reasonable and with a drink + fries came to roughly $10. I wouldn't mind coming back here again, but perhaps this time try out the veggie burger options. The Malick (one of my favorites) is a double cheeseburger, topped with beef bacon and the KING of all things savory: an egg!!! And God, don't get me started with the Harambe - all I'll say is; pay once, eat for 3 meals (or more)...yummy to the last bite! In case you aren't a fan of beef...there's always the Zinger burger, delicious fried chicken breast with a scrumptious sauce. Another classic. There aren't a lot of sides offered, but the curly fries taste great and are seasoned well. They had chicken and waffles on their menu for a short while...I wish they'd bring those back. The wings are pretty dope too. In case you're wondering, or if it interests you, the ambience is laid back and cool. The staff are young and cool, really nice guys, and there's a pool table to keep you entertained while you wait for your food. One of the better Zabihah burgers in the suburbs. I just recently heard about this place but it's quite popular among the muslim young adults. They make the patties FRESH everyday and you can tell. The gyros burger is pretty darn good, the only thing it lacked is spice. I asked them to make it spicy both times I went but it was not. I know they can def make it more spicer because my sister's burger was way spicer then mine and she didn't even ask for it to be spicy. Otherwise I would have gave 5 stars. Someone politely took my call-in order for pickup, I was able to pay by credit card over the phone, and my order was ready in a short amount of time(10m wait)... they even brought my order out to my vehicle so there was limited contact/interaction. Went here for dinner last night to dine in. I am not sure where the four star review comes from. -Food- I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger, my fiancé had to Volcano burger. When they came out the presentation was good. Curly fries were awesome, cooked very well. My burger was mediocre. The patty was thin but the bun was huge so with each bite I got a mouthful of bread. Something was off about the meat - had a strange aftertaste and it was over cooked for my liking (I usually enjoy a medium rare burger). Since the patty was thin I guess this would not be really possible. The Swiss cheese and the mushrooms made up for the lack of quality in the meat but it wasn't enough to satisfy. My fiancé's burger was overflowing with cheese and sauce, so he enjoyed his more than I enjoyed mine. I assume it was because the meat was drenched in sauce to mask the flavor. -Atmosphere- The entire place needs a deep cleaning and attention. Badly. Tables were dirty and run down, ketchup globs on the napkin holders, paint chipping on the walls, floors smeared with dirt. Someone wrote the label of the sauces on the back of a paper receipt, with a highlighter or bright marker, and scotch taped it to the side of the bottles. A mop bucket sat in the corner of the dining room so I had to stare at that while I was eating. A mixed seating arrangement of four tops and leather chairs is somewhat odd. There was a random folding chair by the entrance in the middle of a large empty space. Clutter on the countertops. Several large TVs mounted on the walls which is nice to watch a game. I think these guys are on the right track but with a little elbow grease and more attention to detail it could make a big, positive difference in the dining area. Overall, I had much higher expectations for this place based on the reviews. Maybe that is because of the delivery service - but the dine in experience left way too much to be desired. Went there for the first time to give them a try. The size and taste of the food is good for a burger shop. They are one step better than Faizan or Mr. Broast. Not too greasy as well. Only reason they got knocked down a star is because of the cleanliness in the restaurant. I would recommend takeout, then dining in, since the tables are very dirty/sticky. Visited this restaurant with my wife and kids for the first time. Restaurant did not have many guests - about half the tables were occupied. The Good: Menu has some cool flavors and burger combos, and prices are mostly fair. They had a TV that was playing the basketball game. I like the leather cushioned chairs. The Bad: We ordered three burgers and two fries at 6:25pm, didn't get our food until 7:15pm. There wasn't even an apology about having to wait almost an hour for our food. The mushroom burger was okay; the chicken on the zyro burger was very small; the chicken philly was lacking chicken and protein was too charred; curly fries were not even warm and actually a little stale which lacked the full potato you crave in fries. The Ugly: The restaurant was messy: the tables that werent occupied were not cleaned the entire 90 minutes we were there; the ketchup bottles had ketchup all over the outside of the bottles; napkins all over the floors; and the bathroom was filthy. To make things worse, the three of us that had protein all had upset stomachs afterwards. The Verdict: I support locally owned and operated restaurants, but this experience was a bit too negative for me. I do not expect to return to this restaurant unless things change. The reality is, they are understaffed and need help keeping up with orders as well as maintaining the integrity/cleanliness of the restaurant. They also should remember, customers pay for product AND service. They need to do a better job to recognize when an order is taking too long, update the customer, and apologize for the wait ANY TIME THIS HAPPENS. read more
