Onion rings

Ordered a chicken sandwich, onions rings and banana pudding. Service was excellent food came on time and was decent.

I saw this place on IG and I really wanted to try it. It had bad ratings but I wanted to try for myself. Wish I hadn't. The food is super salty, low quality ingredients, and barely any meat in the sandwiches/burgers. Very disappointing. Great concept but definitely a miss. It's a no for me, dog.

'Volcano' burger ($10): 1/2lb beef patty stuffed with American cheese. It was unseasoned and undercooked.

DON'T HAVE A COW, MAN Unseasoned and undercooked patties spell disaster for this burger spot in Naperville. My wife and I stopped here to grab some food on our way to Solemn Oath brewery, where we'd reserved a private igloo to celebrate the birthday of yours truly. I have to preface this review by saying we sought out the *closest* burger place, not the *best* one, in an effort to make sure our dinner was still warm by the time we sat down. After placing an order at the counter, they asked us to wait in our car until the food was ready. The Burger Life's menu recycles a lot of the same toppings (gyros, fried egg, bacon, etc) and I wasn't terribly impressed with what I saw. For the most part, the burgers are very basic. My 'Volcano' ($10) was a thumbs-down. The idea was straightforward: a 1/2lb patty stuffed with American cheese, w/red onion, tomato, lettuce, and zinger sauce. Tragically, the burger itself was flavorless, and the middle was rare-to-dark red. It also had a mushy texture, leading me to believe it was frozen and not cooked properly. On the other hand, Nichole S enjoyed the 'Lonestar' ($9.50), a cheeseburger topped with bacon, bbq sauce, and an onion ring. She did, however, comment that it too was "seriously lacking in flavor", so this is a systemic issue with how TBL seasons their patties (if they're seasoned at all). Meal combo included decent curly fries. Onion rings ($5) had nice crispy breading. They have something on their menu called the 'Harambe', a gargantuan entrée consisting of 3 cheeseburgers, a chicken patty, philly steak, gyros and bacon doused in cheese sauce ($22). It's impossible to eat normally so they give you a knife & fork (and presumably, an AED). I'm not sure if this is a clever nod to our departed comrade, or straight up culinary sedition. * TL;DR * The Burger Life has a lot of work to do if they want to be taken seriously in the burger community. Or should I say.....com-MOO-nity? Some people might find their offerings passable, but knowing how delicious a burger can be -- Kuma's Corner, Empire -- this place was a total let down. The burger ideas were boring and poorly executed; above-average curly fries & onion rings can't make up for a woefully nondescript meat patty. Instantly forgettable.

Tried their baba burger second time and it was just as good as the lone star burger I had last time. Their curly fries definitely didn't disappoint either. Also this time their cooler section was restocked- it had cherry Pepsi, vanilla Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, and bunch of other flavors.

Chicken Tenders
Saadia Q.

My son ordered chicken tenders smothered in BBQ sauce and they are soo good! We made it a meal with onion rings, and WOW! their onion rings are big and delicious. I had to sneak a few . My keto meal of gyros without pita, smothered in pepper jack cheese, and topped with zinger sauce was AMAZING. Everything tasted fresh even though we picked up at 9 pm at night! They must have gotten new management because last summer their food quality was really lacking. Glad we decided to give them another chance. Whatever they're doing now, I hope they stay consistent and keep doing it!

Our server, Umberto, was attentive and pleasant and took good care of us; he was the best part of our evening. However, this is the first and last time I'll ever eat at Entourage. They promise "a dining experience" on their website, but I could get the same experience at your average Chili's or TGIFriday's without the pretense. Why do I say that? It's the noise...oh, the noise. There were a few tables with large parties, so it was pretty loud. Even leaning in closely, it was hard for my friend and me to hear each other talk. And the screaming kids were something else, emitting ear-piercing screams that get your attention, for all the wrong reasons. I didn't see any staff ask the large parties to keep it down or ask the parents to manage their children, which I guess I can understand. Large parties = more revenue than a two-top. But we did not - could not - linger after we ate our meals, or order coffee, dessert, and/or an after-dinner drink, because it was just too loud in there.

We thought the food was above average but nothing special and we were very satisfied leaving with full stomaches. The chicken was tender and there was plenty of it. I really liked the honey mustard sauce as well. The fries are beer battered style and seasoned well, I am picky on fries but I loved them! It's a big place with lots of seating but I could see there being a wait if you go during peak times.

I started with the salted watermelon margarita, which was tasty and refreshing with a nice fruity flavor. It wasn't overly strong, making it easy to sip throughout the meal. For appetizers, we shared the spinach dip, calamari, and buffalo bites. The spinach dip was good, and the chips had a nice salty crunch. The calamari was pretty standard, but there was way too much breading, the squid-to-breading ratio was way off. For my entrée, I ordered the steak bowl. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. The menu description mentioned quinoa and brown rice, but they were practically nonexistent. There were maybe a few grains of brown rice in the entire dish, and it mostly consisted of a handful of steak cubes and vegetables. The flavor and sauce were good, but it wasn't very filling. Thankfully, I had already filled up on the appetizers. For dessert, I tried the crème brûlée cheesecake. Honestly, it was nothing special and tasted like a thawed frozen cheesecake with some cheap berry compote on the side. Overall, Yard House is a fine option for hosting large groups thanks to its spacious setup, but I wouldn't come here expecting amazing food. The experience was fine, but the food itself was pretty average at most.

I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

Our waitress then says "per my manger if you want to keep the old one too (one bite out of it) we have to charge you for it, and if you don't want to pay for it we are throwing it out." Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.
