Philly steak sandwich and fries
Shannon M.

I dropped in here for lunch at this casual strip-mall diner and was surprised at how big the menu is! Cheesesteaks, fish, burgers, chicken, nachos, gyros, hot dogs... kind of the perfect place to take a family that can't agree on what to eat, or a picky person since there are so many options. I went with the Philly steak sandwich, which was very tasty and didn't skimp on the meat! It came with fries which were also very good. I had a sample of the lemonade, and for all that it's in the name of the shop this seemed a bit meh: a slushy texture but not a lot of flavor. The fellow behind the counter was friendly and informative. At lunch this place had a steady stream of people coming in, all trying something different!

Cheeseburger- 7/10 Fries- 6/10 (would be higher with some salt and pepper)

Very clean store. Super friendly employees. Food did not take long and came out fresh and PIPING hot. Would try again.

Fish Sandwich

Popped in for my Lent Friday fish fix. I went with the standard fish sandwich, but had immediate regret over not getting the catfish sandwich because it looked amazing. The buns they use are elevated. Not sure if it was brioche, but it was very similar. Toasted, but not crispy, warm, but not soggy. The fish was great and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh (you could really tell). Cheese fries were also above-average. I'll be back to check out some of their other items. The Italian beef wrap looks incredible.

The hidden service fee of 4%

So the Philly cheesesteak is average. Fries are meh. Gyro meh. Wings are just frozen breaded wings that are fried and floating in hot sauce. Brownie no flavor. Basically every fried food you could ask for. It is nice they are open late so maybe this is meant to be drunk food. And the worker was very polite and food was ready quickly. But the part that annoyed me is the 4% service fee they hide in the taxes. Their prices are not cheap. And then they automatically added a 20% tip that took a while to figure out how to remove /reduce and on top of the 4% service fee they hide in the Tax and Fees. Not cool Baba's. Not cool at all.

I'm giving this place 1 star for scamming me out of a service charge fee. This is NOT a restaurant, there is no waiter and there are NO extra services provided. Service charge fees go DIRECTLY to the owner of the business. They are stealing money from people. This is a fast food business where you order to go or stay and eat. There is absolutely no reason why this place should be charging customers a service charge.

Fried chicken

Ok so this place just opened near the corner of 95th St and Rt59 in Naperville...and I'm fully hooked! I love fried chicken and so far nothing they have served has disappointed! The fried chicken is fantastic crisp delicious and I LOVE their mild sauce. We also tried the crispy Italian beef which is basically and Italian beef burrito and the bread is to die for...I've never had anything quite like it. The jumbo shrimp basket got high ratings from my partner as well as the gyro plate he needed more pitas for because there was SOOOO MUCH MEAT!!!! The garlic chicken sandwich was juicy delicious and cooked perfectly. I cannot rave enough about this place. And do t get me started on the guys running it ..funny friendly and just really nice. Don't worry we will be back ..maybe someday I'll get desert!!! Did I mention the lemonades? Oh yeah more for next time then...try them out!

We talked to the person there and found it was run by his family, and they do an exceptional job. My wife had the Liberty Cheesesteak with added onions while I had a combo Italian Beef/Italian Sausage sandwich - dipped with added onion, hot pepper and cheese. We also had a side of fries. Both sandwiches were big, which you would expect. The Philly had finely chopped steak with the peppers, onions and cheese all mixed in. My wife said it was fantastic. My combo was incredible. The beef was seasoned perfectly and was clearly not sitting all day in the au-jus (which when talking to the owner afterwards he confirmed was the case). You can always tell this because the meat had a nice texture and was not overly salty, but instead as I stated seasoned and cooked perfectly. Additionally, the fries were well cooked, crisp and hot. They take care to keep the oil fresh and clean, so the fries taste like fries instead of old dirty oil. As an added bonus he even treated my pup to a small dish of ice cream which she enjoyed on a hot day. Fortunately, we showed up a little after the lunch rush and was able to spend a few minutes talking about the business and baseball and our combined hate of the dreaded Dodgers. Even if I don't go back there tomorrow, it's definitely a must stop next time through the area.

Don't get me wrong, I will order from here again mainly because of the location and app promotions. The prices are comparable to a jersey Mike's and not as expensive as Mojos. (IT'S) ALWAYS SUNNY IN BOLINGBROOK…read more The spirit of Philly has come to the western suburbs, and with it they've brought their signature cheesesteaks. Charley's is a newcomer to the busy intersection of Boughton & Weber, having taken over a spot previously home to Firehouse Subs (which coincidentally also sold Philly-style cheesesteaks). This location between KO Sushi and a Pearle Vision opened in late April 2023. The buffalo chicken philly ($6.50 for a small) is delicious: sliced chicken, melted provolone, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and hot sauce. I've ordered this twice in as many weeks, and both times I've wolfed it down. One of these days I'll definitely get the Old School Cheesesteak ($8.50). Charley's touts their wings; you can get 6pc regular ($9.50) or 10pc boneless ($10) tossed in your choice of sauce. Options are - from mildest to hottest - sweet teriyaki, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper rub, bold BBQ, Thai chili, Korean BBQ, hot honey, buffalo, and mango habanero. Halfway through dinner the other night, I encountered a big ol' bone (nooooo) in my allegedly boneless wings..... perhaps they should amend this to say "99% bone-free" wings. Few things are worse than expecting a smooth chicky nuggy and chomping down on something sharp and/or brittle. Talk about an appetite killer. I like their style of french fries, simple but satisfying. Try 'em loaded with cheese & bacon ($3.80). The guy who rang up my order was friendly, and even though it took a while for the food to come out, they're a 'hot & new' business with a steady flow of customers, so a wait is to be expected. I cashed in a coupon for $5 off of $20, plus I racked up double points by scanning the QR code via the Charley's mobile app. I've become quite the rewards redeemer as I enter the penny-pinching Scrooge McDuck phase of my life (mid 30's). Every cent saved counts, amirite?? * TL;DR * "Can I offer you a cheesesteak in these trying times?" - Frank Reynolds, probably As much as I enjoy(ed) Charley's buffalo chicken philly, finding a large bone in my boneless wings was a massive turn-off. Needless to say I'm no longer taking any chances, so I'll stick with Bdubs as my preferred provider of boneless wings. You'd hope that a place with 'cheesesteak' in their name would put together a tasty one, and Charley's didn't disappoint. Let's just say I wouldn't have bothered to download their app if I wasn't planning on returning fairly often. Pretty good stuff. Recommended.

There's also many of the customers who get takeout. A bad thing is it can take a long time to get anything. Lots of times they're really slow. It's about $10 for a Beyond Burger. This is one of the main vegetarian options. A pretty typical one with the basic toppings but nothing special to be honest. Of course there's lots of paninis filled with meat. There's also the Reuben made with the classic corned beef, or it can be made with pastrami. Also has it available as vegetarian made with mushrooms. The rest of the menu has the typical stuff like chicken salad and egg salad. For sure it's a great place at lunch except for being crowded. It's located on 75th Street at Millbrook. The place is always crowded so most seem to get takeout.

Went on a weekday, late lunch so the place was pretty bare. We sat at the dining area and service was quick, esp as we had informed our server that we are pressed for time. We ordered the beef Wellington and crab cake appetizers and the business lunch where we picked the lobster bisque, Delmonico steak with Parmesan fries. We both agreed that we were blown away by everything. The crab cake (1 piece) was superb - real crab and seared just with the right crispiness. Other crab cakes had lots of eggs and veggies but this was mostly crab meat. The beef Wellington medallions (5 pieces) were awesome, esp with the sauce. Flavorful, wrap wasn't too thick and the filet mignon was tender. The shrimp and lobster bisque was decent - wish they came with crackers or bread and would have preferred the soup to be a bit thicker but can't complain about the flavor. The Delmonico steak was tender and flavorful and the fries were an absolute delight with the Parmesan strings on top and one of those you can actually tell it came from potatoes! We also end up doing the pineapple kakigori (shaved ice) and that was okay. The ice cream inside was creamy and not too sweet and the additional pineapple syrup and milk just made it work. Ambience was great, lots of free parking in downtown Naperville but a bit pricey - although it was worth it.
