It's great, and really stands apart from the traditional Italian or French rolls we Chicagoans use for beef sandwiches. Bruno's offers up Phillys using either the cheez whiz stuff or provolone. Both are good. There's also grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms to choose from. A drink and fries plus sandwich is around $16, which is much cheaper than a trip to Philly! I firmly believe you can't get a good cheesesteak in Illinois, let alone the suburbs. While the man that greeted me was pleasant, that's where it all ended. I ordered the Delaware, no peppers and it arrived in about 5-7 min, so no complaints there. I get the sandwich home and it looked pretty good, but noticed it was A LOT of bread, I mean almost overwhelming. I heated it and took a bite and the bread was soft, but tough..which was weird. The meat, onions, and mushrooms had absolutely zero seasoning on them, which should be a crime for a $13+ sandwich. If this is you at your best, than there is a reason I should have left because there was NOBODY in the parking lot. My advice having working in restaurants for 20 years: season the meat and ingredients, get better bread, get better meat and really try the food for yourself because you would hopefully agree with me. read more

Didn't get to eat it fresh as we had time constraints but I was not disappointed when I ate it at home, which was about a 30 min ride. South Philly was full of flavor and had a generous amount of meat and cheese. The chicken Philly was bought to indulge in our "healthy" eating habits for the weekend, and it was decent.
