Back to loving this place again with the new owner that took over 4 months ago. They updated the inside with new tables, added booths, etc. The owner was working the register and was overly acommodating and beyond nice. This was our first time back since the new owner took over so we were skeptical but were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the inside, the updates and the awesome quality of food. The owner made us feel like he's known us for years with joking around and making us feel at home!!! I have ordered that Impossible Burger (whatever they are calling it, the new fab of meatless burgers) with Fries and a Drink. I usually customize the crap out of it and they never screw it up and they did not this time. It did not take long for me to get my food. I ended up eating it in my car. I started with the fries. And this is how the fries are supposed to be made, fresh, from an uncut potato! Great fries! Burger was up next. It was pretty good, one of the better meatless ones. I first tried Bulldogs some years ago when Batavia was not a close option for food. Now that I live in North Aurora we're neighbors and Bulldogs has become my most return to place. I go down to Batavia every now and then and have stopped in a few times. They seem to have decent food! I am very basic so i've just done their hot-dog, corn-dog, even had a turkey sandwhich once. Their fries are really good, love fresh cut fries!! The customer service is so-so. Nobody's every overly friendly, but they're not rude either. After having read the other recent reviews about cleanliness, i'll be taking a closer look next time i'm down there! overall, might be worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood! I went there once before and had a not so good experience with their fries. It basically was a bag of mushy grease. But I thought I'd give them another try. I ordered the Gyro platter which comes with fries. I made sure to tell them I wanted crispy fries. The fries were crispy but brownish in color which seemed like it could have been dirty oil. The gyro meat which is supposed to be long strips were tiny curled up dried pieces of meat. I have had quite a few gyros in my time and I have never seen the meat served like this. Just finished a cheeseburger and my husband had a beef and Hot dog. We were never so disappointed in their food. The burger had no flavor, they change the bread for the beefs and hubby said the beef was even bland. So sad about this because we use to love the place. Never again Husband picked up food. He ordered 2 hot dogs (pulled out of a warmer then deep fried. He said they were greasy - new cooking method ?), soggy french fries, and a half decent pizza puff. He ordered me a gyro platter. Asked for no tomatoes (I am allergic, but guess what, they were in the box). My fries were also soggy and not salted. Asked for the sauce on the side and an extra one (didn't get any). He told me he wouldn't go back after the last time but he did because I wanted it. I haven't physically been in the restaurant. He told me it was really dirty. The female employee had long fake finger nails (gross) and used tongs to get the hot dog's but didn't feel the need to wear gloves before touching the hot dog buns. Oh, she had to check her phone (covered in germs) and didn't feel the need to wash her hands. Husband called them and they didn't seem to care. Right off the fox river trail, it's a convenient stop while riding along the trail, but it's also conveniently located right in downtown Batavia! I really think their sandwiches are great - I haven't had much experience with their fried food/burgers etc BUT - that being said, I've seen many of their employees make sandwiches without gloves - everything that goes on the sandwiches are handled with bare hands that haven't been washed prior. It's absolutely humorous to read the reviews of this place, making it out to be something other than the greasy spoon that it is. It's your standard hot dogs and burgers fast food joint, nothing more. If the owner is around, the food is hotter than usual and the service is spry; if the owner is on vacation or off painting his house, the food is luke-warm and the wait is too long. It's run by Batavia high-schoolers who want an after-school job, and as such, it's cleanliness is your standard greasy-air, greasy-floor, greasy-table grease-monkey place. Fast food here is pretty good. We came from a long bike ride and my kids were hungry. We got chicken sandwich, cheese burgers, chicken fingers and meatball sandwich. Chicken fingers were processed also that was a bummer bit it did taste good. Their fries were fresh cut. Everyone liked their food. It was fast to order, good tasting and good price. Dining area was nothing to rave about but it was clean. But it was a little warm so hopefully when it gets hotter outside they will turn on the air conditioning. I have been going to Bulldogs for many years and it is always good. The deli sandwiches are excellent too. The last time I went I was taking it home to watch the NBA finals. We apparently had a miscommunication as I got an Italian Sub instead of an Italian Beef. My girlfriend called them and guess what? Not only did I get a new sandwich but the owner himself brought it to my house! I couldn't believe it! No one has EVER done that for me! Very delicious, and you can get a decent Chicago dog and fries for 6 dollars, so a pretty good deal in my opinion.

My fiance grabbed us a late lunch today and when he got home he realised my gyro was wrong and we were missing my order of fries. He called Bulldogs and within less than 20 minutes they delivered (that's right they didn't ask us to come back, instead asking for our address!) a corrected sandwich and the missing fries. Bulldogs Red Hots has some good qualities about it if you're looking for some decent tasting fast food. Everything is made fresh to order including Italian beef, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza puffs and some submarine sandwiches to boot. It is your typical fast-food Fair and always gets served hot within a reasonable amount of time. The only issue is seems that not a lot of money is going back into the upkeep of the building. The windows are leaky and in cold weather it could be very chilly in the main dining area. The decor is getting old and is in need of a facelift and freshening. The service could be a little friendlier especially when it never seems to be extremely busy. If you're in the neighborhood and are looking for a fast lunch, Bulldogs is a good option. read more

Rudest staff ever. Repeatedly screw up orders. I have never heard a thank you from anyone there. Management needs to train their staff better on what customer service is. I'll spend my money elsewhere, where they actually appreciate their customers business. Update: My goal for my original review was to let management know how their staff was speaking to customers. Most times management may not be aware of the service their team provides if they aren't there all the time. I spoke with the owner of this business, whose response was NOT "I'm so sorry we messed up the order or my staff was not courteous, how can we get better?" After hearing my perspective on the situation, he said he would have a conversation with his staff to improve service going forward. Instead, he left the comments below, making me out to be unreasonable and unjust. This shows me that management condones the behavior of the staff. After 5 years of ordering from this establishment, I still have never heard a thank you for an order or an apology for mix ups. Again, if you want to go somewhere with a courteous staff and appreciates your hard earned money, I would suggest going elsewhere.
