    a plate of breakfast food

Date: 18-February-2020 Time: Lunch Total (before tip): $7.58 Server: Not sure Grade: B So I was in the mood for some breakfast food and this place was very close to my work, so I figured, why not! I was seated relatively quickly. The place inside is on the smaller end, but cozy and has this older/run down look to it, very fitting. I got a menu and looked it over. The waitress brought out my water with no ice and I placed my order, which was two eggs with ham. It did not take long for my food to come out. I started with hash browns and they were pretty good. Ham was next and it was decent. Eggs were exactly what you would expect. Overall a pretty decent experience. Solid B.

    Receipt

First and last time coming here. I asked for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, salt and pepper, with 2 eggs. That's it. Instead, i got an egg sandwich AND a 2 eggs with hashbrowns meal on the side. Because I know businesses are struggling due to Covid, I just paid 9 bucks for a mediocre (at best) sandwich and the clowns didn't even give me a fork for the eggs and hashbrowns I didn't order. FAIL

    All this.... for $15

We live in Batavia and love good breakfast places. Hadn't ever tried Batavia's Diner and the reviews were good so we gave it a try. On the way there I said to my wife I wish there was a good Mexican Breakfast place around the tri-cities. Little did I know that BD perfectly fit that description. I had the Chilaquiles. Comes with a thin steak, eggs and tortillas. Fantastic! So flavorful. The most expensive breakfast item at $8. My wife had the house skillet w/ pancakes (yes, I ate those) at $5. Also outstanding flavor and value. Service was great. Only improvement could be the coffee - which was OK but not special. We were quite full and took 1/3 of our breakfast home and it was $15. Can't wait to go back for another breakfast or try lunch.

The Mole Chilaquiles are amazing! Yummy sauce and crunchy. Steak is great and portion are perfect. Hidden in Batavia area, it's worth it.

The name has changed but simple breakfast. Had chorizo and eggs and it was good. Very clean and friendly. A little overpriced.

Our hostess for breakfast was wonderful - kind, attentive, friendly and made me feel like I knew her for years (thanks Melissa!) So many breakfast options available, something for everyone to eat, and gluten free options! I settled for the mountain house skillet which was so good, probably the best skillet I've had in a long time. My husband had the classic eggs Benedict. Their homemade jam was excellent (comes free at the table) and lots of coffee and drink options. Their pancakes looked so good - definitely saving for next time. Highly recommend!

It seemed like there were not enough servers, and staff kept saying they were too busy to take orders because they had too many tables. We waited a very long time just for someone to take our order, and overall the service felt slow, unorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the food quality has dropped significantly compared to previous visits. We ordered the Holy Molly, and it came with literally three small pieces of meat, which was very disappointing for the price. As a customer, it feels like the restaurant may be trying to reduce costs, and unfortunately that appears to be impacting both service and food quality. I understand restaurants get busy, but in this case the experience was far below expectations. Between the long wait times, lack of attention, and noticeable decline in food quality, this visit was very disappointing. I would appreciate a response regarding how these issues will be addressed moving forward.

The omelets were fluffy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The pancakes were also outstanding--fluffy, delicious, and easily some of the best we've had. We especially loved the country-style potatoes, with their thick-cut style and perfectly cooked texture. Overall, everything was well-prepared and satisfying. This is definitely my new favorite breakfast spot, and I'll be coming back again.

So I arrived in a wheelchair due to my recently broken pelvis. Thank goodness my husband Ed is giant, tall and strong and can easily carry me around when needed (in this case to and from the car). Inside, the Host was very accommodating for a table. She moved a chair somewhere else so there was room for Ed to park me and my wheelchair. We were able to get disabled parking (which I temporarily have), and there was a ramp at the entrance but no button to press to automatically open the double doors. . Onto the stuff Yelp readers care about. My husband loved the coffee and was offered a coffee for the road when we left. Pretty much I hate "American Breakfast" at 99% of places because the only vegan offering is potatoes. Sometimes not even that if the potatoes are cooked in butter, not oil. They were vegan by default here, cooked in oil My husband got his very favorite, Eggs Benedict. Whether he likes the Hollondaise or not pretty much determines if we shall return to a breakfast diner. He said there was nothing bad about the Eggs Benedict, but he would not return for them. There was nothing much for vegans either, so I would not return. We both (an omnivore and a vegan) both greatly disliked the breakfast potatoes. However, thservice was fantastic, especially as a first-time person in a wheelchair. Celeste, our server, could not have been more kind. Sandy, the Manager, stopped by every table to make sure things were going well. Honestly, that earned them the 4 stars. If I had rated them on the food alone, perhaps a 2 star. So for us, we will not be back. But I would suggest that others do not try this place out.
