Excellent and great food, service and awesome place to dine. Perfect place and great dining experience with the ambiance.

Don't recommend this buffet. I've seen a lot of people come up only to leave because of the price is too high. The only time it's worth going is the BOGO Tuesday. In Vegas the high end buffet is even cheaper. The food is mediocre. The food they serve is just the food they've reheat from the other day or this week even. They're never fresh! The bbq ribs which I went for, is too hard and can tell it's been reheated several times. I only come here when I have food comp. read more

Their was not a good variety. It was mostly American food like chicken nuggets, waffle fries, baked beans, garlic toast...The desserts were limited as well. The eclairs did not have a good and creamy taste. But the waiters were very attentive and nice. read more

I had salmon, prime rib, pork chop, veggies, Mac and cheese. The selections weren't that many. There were a salad, seafood, Italian, Mexican & American sections. But the dessert selection was my favorite. I kept coming back for more, because I wanted to try every kind they had. My favorite was the cheesecake. The service was so amazing and attentive. From the cashier, host, waitress to the servers. I think maybe over staffs and too little guest. Either way, that's good for me. I will definitely come back and maybe just eat all the Mac and cheese alone( that was my favorite meal). read more

The Buffet - My sample plate - Buffets Near Me - Reno, Nevada

We arrived at 8:00 PM. No fresh food was available nor did they make more for the rest of the evening. I understand they close at 10 but if they are going to give me less than 1/2 of options they should have charged me 1/2 the price. I paid $85 for an awful experience and very little to no food and what I did eat was cold and nasty. I will never return to this restaurant and neither should you. read more

Service was good, very attentive. Went in at 7 pm with minimal people. All the food on display looked old and overcooked. Asked for med rare prime not med well. Spanish rice was dry. Fish and chicken were very dry. Corn on cob was really good. Dessert was good. read more

The waiter was wonderful, The food was terrible ended up stomach sick on my vacation and this was the only meal had yesterday, the food is to salty and we expected at least some hot seafood every thing is serve cold. read more

This place is a good value for the price. Believe it was $26.99/ person for the buffet. While there was not a wide spread of options, it was enough. It's hard to compare this buffet to the larger casinos. Our server was very attentive, polite, and friendly. The dessert bar was top notch. There was a carving station with prime rib (a little too cooked for my taste) and ham, salad bar, pasta, soup, baked potato bar, mix of American foods (ribs, chicken wings, etc.), some Mexican food, and some Asian food. The taste was not great and the area is a little small. Our table was a little cramped and right next to a pillar. read more

I solely went here for the crab legs and to see what the casino was all about. To be honest, the buffet wasn't the best, it wasn't fresh and the crab was salty and not that great. If you really want crab legs, go to the Atlantis Buffet, it is much better and waaaaaay better options! There wasn't that much of food options. Hachib (I think? I don't know how to spell his name!) was super friendly and amazing!! The atmosphere was delightful and nice but I wouldn't come to this buffet again and would definitely not recommend it! read more

I really appreciate everything the "J resort" has done to bring more value to our downtown Reno. If you're local and dining at any of their restaurants show your ID and ask for their local special Sunday-Thursdays for 25% off. They opened up their buffet in May of this year. We dropped in for the dinner the other night. The food selection and items were okay. Service was great and smaller seating area. The desserts were my favorite, but hey I have a sweet tooth. I hope they add more options to their dinner. read more

Best Crab in town by far ,ambience was amazing price was very good for what you get.service was fantastic.

No. Just no! Trust me. The only thing I liked was the croutons in my salad. It was really sad.

We went on a Wednesday night. The crab legs were cold. The staff will heat them up but they were overcooked. The prime rib was cold. The only good item was the corn on the cob. The desert was so so. The $85 for 2 was not worth it. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of the service and friendliness. We will not be back. read more

Good: The service was amazing. Hachib was amazing. Best part of the food was the ice cream. BAD: I decided to get a bbq chicken wing, but the chicken was dry and tasted old. My buddy also got some crab, which was horrendous and tasted like old socks. It was bad, like really bad. 42 bucks to get in, and nothing good in return. It seems fancy in there, but it's not fancy tasting. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Service was amazing. My husband and I were craving for a good buffet after a long drive to visit Reno. We were very happy with our server but the food was a little disappointing. The prime rib/ rib roast and turkey was quite dry and crab legs were a bitter salty. But they did made up by their wide variety of desserts. read more

Service was good. The bus staff was quick to refill drinks and take away empty dishes. The woman cutting up the prime rib was very nice. The woman helping serve desserts was very attentive. However, the rest of the buffet was a lackluster. Many of the dishes at 6:00 pm on a Thursday evening looked unappetizing since it's been sitting there for a while due to lack of customers. I wish we had visited on a Friday or Saturday then perhaps the food would have been better. The sushi was gone quickly and they did not make more. What a shame. The buffet stations were very basic. There was no noddle bar, pasta bar, or Mongolian station. It was a lot smaller than other reviewers have stated. Was it worth the $29.99 per person (with a players card) - eh. Maybe it was worth $20 but definitely not over that amount. read more

The staff was really nice and attentive but the food was far from good. Sad to say but it may be one of the worst buffet I've ever been to. I really wanted to like them but I couldn't find one item that I could say it was pretty good. Everything was either overcooked, had no flavor, or old. read more

My husband wanted to try something different today so we we're staying in downtown Reno and stopped into the new J Resort Casino to eat at the Buffett. The best thing was there was no line we were starving and paid under $60 for 2 dinners! Alexander seated us and kept coming back to make sure we were happy he was very friendly and we shared a great conversation during our meal. The next best thing was the shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, most importantly the prime rib! You should also try the mussels with cream pasta amazing... After all that I couldn't pass up the dessert bar, the peanut butter mousse was surprisingly tasty but my favorite was the lemon meringue pie! We would definitely visit again the place is new and clean not crowded and the staff was super nice! read more

Food was not fresh, had too many fried options, and lacked the variety I remember from the old Eldorado buffet. Service was attentive but front desk seemed to be oblivious to the upsell of margaritas on taco and margarita night. Ambiance was modern but already looking a bit shabby, with dirty carpets. read more

The price of the buffet (21.99) drew me on a Saturday instead of the overpriced other buffets. Located on the second floor in the old Sands, now called the J resort (which is much nicer, cleaner, and shinier than the sands). Not tons of high ticket items...two kinds of cocktail shrimp, a decent prime rib, some clams and mussels, a sample small plate of mahi mahi on polenta. Everything else was standard, almost comparable to amount of offerings at Grand Sierra but at far less of a cost. Quality was buffet quality...you will be full, but you may question if it was worth the third plate. The highlight was the desserts...every small pastry was delicious, and there is also soft serve. read more

Excellent food. The servers are very friendly and attentive. I wish they still had the half price on Mondays for seniors. It was a great deal for seniors who normally couldn't afford to have such a wonderful meal. I think it would endear this establishment to the locals! read more

Awe man the food was terrible. White rice was hard in places, cucumbers in the the cucumber salad were soggy, sweet n sour chicken was nasty, don't even think about eating the shrimp, prime rib was hit or miss. The desserts were good! Price was fair 26.99 for adult kids 16.99 4-10yrs old. Oh I forgot the tortilla didn't taste like it was ever warmed up. The staff was really very nice! I'm giving the buffet two stars because the service was great. The person checking people in was quite slow, but maybe she is learning. There wasn't much of a line (Saturday 4pm) so it wasn't a problem. Other than that the waiter, host and people serving the food were all great. Very accommodating and helpful. Our party was checked on several times during our meal. It's also a very pretty space. It's well maintained and clean. The food is really mid unfortunately, below mid honestly. Think hometown buffet and then lower the bar a few notches. I hate to say it, but I was not impressed or even satisfied with anything I tried. Most things were under seasoned and over cooked. Even the desserts were underwhelming. They all looked really pretty, but were just lacking. The coffee was so watered down that you could barely taste any coffee flavor. It tasted like milky water. The lack of options didn't bother me because it's a small place, but the low quality is pretty unforgivable. For $30 you could really get a great meal in Reno. This unfortunately is not the place to get it. If it was $12-$15 I might consider returning, but I don't see that happening any time soon. read more

Absolutely disgusting me and my sister went here after work one day pay $60 there was hair and plastic in her desert cup the silverware was dirty, actual food on my fork When I told the lady that I wasn't happy, and that there was hair in literal plastic in my food, she told me that she would not give me a refund, and that there was nothing she could do and to go grab a different cup It is a palling that this place is still open health department. Had some friends staying at the J and they wanted to try the buffet. Went on a Friday night for their fish fry let me tell you it was not good. Dang near everything was over cooked and not by a little but a lot. The shellfish was like beef jerky, fried fish was way over cooked all in all it was not a good experience. Will not be back. read more

I am a fan of J Paul's Italian Steakhouse and Hanna's coffee shop, but I can't like the buffet. I think I am not alone at this point because patrons are leaving in droves. How can they serve dry prime rib? I was there last Thursday and was happy to see chicken nuggets tempura style. These were fried to death and end up heavy and tasteless. The fried fish is also impossible to like. So what is good? Their deserts are pretty good and service is excellent. But, this has drifted downward for the past two months and I don't see any rescue coming. read more

Saw the heavy advertising on the television and locals night on thursday and sunday nights didn't hurt. A real tiny buffet offering reminiscent of what the Fitzgerald's offer back when they were still in business. You knew you were getting a good buffet for the price. They had a little of an assortment, their salad station had romaine and green salad chopped leaves with individual containers of salad additions of grape tomatoes, pickled beets(yuck, prefer plain unadulterated), etc. Two soups of the day, I did try the corn chowder and felt it was too salty. A nice antipasto bowl. I passed on a lot of the foods so I can't remember all the had to offer, of note they ran out of crab the night we came. The carvers had roast beef/prime rib without the bone and they consistently sliced no more than 1/2 inch slices which means if you put au jus on top it would be well done, so no au jus and ham but I didn't try. One thing I will note is they brine their roast beef/prime rib so the texture is totally different from a unbrined beef. I prefer that it be dry rubbed with rock salt or coarse kosher salt instead of brining the whole piece of meat, the texture is not as appealing. There were pork ribs in sauce on the hot table, scalloped potatoes and green and yellow squash. Their dessert area was quit impressive but then I don't consider desserts as food so I didn't really pay any attention to it. read more

Maybe don't go on a Monday night! There were no crab legs or lobster bisque or anything else regarding seafood I read on Yelp before checking into the hotel. Servers, FOH Manager, and bussers were super nice! Great price point for a buffet inside a casino resort. Typical buffet service and lineup. The buffet opens at 4pm though so by the time we went for dinner around 6pm the food had been sitting under the heat lamps and had crusted over or died (the mahi mahi, which was 1/4 teaspoon sized fish on some Polenta and the prime rib). The clams would have been the best thing but there was so much sand in the pesto one. The ones in the red sauce were a little better but still sandy. The Chinese food was uh. Questionable? Def bastardized American Chinese food. The prime rib was so salty and dry. Cut off most of the outside and just ate the inner most part of the slice. Don't bother asking for a rarer slice, it doesn't exist. The cannolis were soggy but all the other cake desserts were yummy! The fruit tarts were the best thing. Skip out on the cream puffs and the eclairs though. read more

Came to eat here because we were looking for a buffet with seafood on a Sunday. Each person gets 1 pound of crab. I really enjoyed the crab, prime rib, and tri tip! Everything tasted good and the service was great! We came here right at 4pm when they opened and we were the only ones there for at least half an hour. It was nice to pick my food without it being really crowded! I would eat here again! read more

This should be your "locals" place to come. With a locals discount you are looking at just over $40 for the two of you. Not bad. Sunday's and Thursday's. This is a smaller buffet, but they manage to get it all right. You start with salads and fruit, then shrimp cocktail varieties, fried fish, baked fish, and hushpuppies. Then you get the American dishes, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac and cheese etc, all were great. then you get to the carver. Everything here was great, but the prime rib stood out. Added so Au Jus and WOW. Past that is Hispanic and Asian foods that are all quite tasty. The chicken enchiladas tasted exactly like Van de Camps. My mom loved Van de Camps. Finally the desserts. Top shelf. I tried them all. If you are addicted to chocolate, the little two inch dark chocolate rolls with nuts are to die for. WOW. Granted, it's a buffet. They tend to all be the same, some really bring it though, like Bellagio. This is not Bellagio, but it's clean, well stocked, with super friendly people. In fact, our curly haired hostess was exceptional. Great with kids. Like Arnold, "I'll be back." read more

Place looked fine for a buffet. Food was bad, really really bad!!! Service was awful. Just not a good place at all.

This buffet is horrendous. Please don't ever waste your money going to this dump. The food was very old/stale, and the selection was not very good at all. And don't even get me started on the crab. The crab was chilled, which is fine I guess. But when I picked the claw up to start eating it I squeezed the knuckle and salty water started pouring out. It....was.....disgusting. Literally the worst crab I've ever had in my life.I came here on a wrestling trip with my team with only $150. That's for food and spending money. I paid $42 for absolutely atrocious food. Please don't waste your money on this place and go to Circus Circus for better food selection. read more

Modern and smaller buffet located inside the new J Resort (formerly Sands). $26.99 per person. Short wait on a Saturday night. There however was enough variety to meet my buffet needs. The prime rib was on the rare side but was tender and good. There was ham as well. There were no crab legs but they had other selections of seafood such as fish, shrimp and mussels. The goulash and macaroni and cheese were great. There was also bbq and an Asian food section. The clam chowder had a ton of bacon in it so was salty (not a fan). Minestrone was ok. There were plenty of desserts to choose from. Chopped fruit. The fruit tarts, cream puff, and eclaire were good. Flan, chocolate chip cookie, bread pudding bowl, and pink rice krispy looked better than they tasted. Selected passion fruit, orange, guava juice as my drink which was included. Service was friendly. read more

Dinner is 26.99 per person, luckily for me the wonderful woman working the register informed me if I signed up for a players card there was a voucher for 1 free buffet ticket. The food itself was very underwhelming to say the least. Everything was fairly salty. The one thing I did like was the prime rib, but I didn't notice any au jus around the carving board area. The clam chowder looked promising, but again everything was salty. read more

First time and last time to this buffet. Just pay a little more and you can enjoy a better buffet in Reno. This buffet is small and very little selections. Most of the food was tasteless and seemed like they're just reheated food that's been left out for too long. Salad bar barely had fresh lettuce and the dressing was gloopy. For dessert, Creme brûlée and snickerdoodle cookie were good. In general, not worth the price and not recommended. read more

Staff is nice. But the food is unforgivable. Cold rubbery seafood. Wilted lettuce. Prime rib was drier than the dessert and the au jus made it worse with all the salt in it. The desserts look beautiful. But that's the extent of it. Bland soggy or dried out from sitting so long. Thought ice cream would be a clear winner but no bowl to put it in so it went on a plate goodbye J. Hope this places starts over. read more

My wife and I came here during the night as she got a 2 for 1 buffet coupon there and decided to give it a shot. It was crab legs night. The place is remodeled with the bathrooms and is upstairs. The price was $26.99 I believe and if you have a players card you get a dollar off. Even though it was biker's night, I was surprised the buffet was not crowded and we came around 7:30pm. The line was not long and waited 15 minutes to get in. Okay the atmosphere is really nice and the drinks are typical drinks, juice, soda and you can pay extra for alcohol if you like. But one thing that does stand out that many people would not know about is you can ask them to add in the cherry, vanilla and forgot what else flavoring into the drink and I got a cherry lemonade that tastes like hot dog on a stick. Selection was not too big compared to other buffets I been too like the El Dorado and Atlantis, but it is the quality that counts right. Overall the food was just okay, they have a Mexican, Chinese and American station, and a huge dessert station. What I like was the crab and kept on going for more. It did not taste old like other places I have been too and was just right. The other food was just so so. Prime rib was actually good as well, but could not eat well because of my gout issue. The salad bar was not too big and wish they had more different types of salads. The fried chicken was dry as well. They have a pasta station as well, but did not load up on that as it is carb and will fill you up faster. I did enjoy the potato salad as well as I love potatoes even though it is carbs. I was more disappointed in the dessert the most though as it looked great on the outside, but when tasting it, the bread was dry inside, but the frosting was great to have though. Ice cream was a little watery looking as well did not look good. The cake pops were dry as well even though they looked good. Service was good though. Overall was a good experience, but would I pay $27.99 probably not. read more

I now have been here since they re-opened and think this buffet is perfectly fine for the price. They are close to $20 cheaper than the other buffets in town, so don't expect a ton of high priced items. It's smaller, but has a decent variety and I've found the food to be fresh and tasty. Where they shine is the deserts, which are amazing with a huge variety. I've heard they are adding crab legs at the end of July 2024. Hope the price does not go up much as I'm a senior and don't eat a lot, but love the variety at buffets. Forgot to add that all of the staff here are amazing! Super friendly and attentive.
