The price is right, the quality is a bit on the cheaper side but edible. The staff are amazing which made the buffet better. They have unlimited crab everyday and the options are never ending.

11/6/25- Was online today and when I read it was throwback Thursday-I knew we had to stop in.. Funny they had tuna casserole- I just made and chili Mac.. Where to start- bummed no thousand island salad dressing.. But the prime rib and au jus make up for it- I don't usually eat but some reason I love it here- Five stars for the in house salt and vinegar chips!! Beef vegetable soup needs to be hotter.. Chili and baked beans are really good- Five stars for the desserts! Prices are great value for the crab and prime rib.. I'll have to bring my youngest here on a Thursday..

J Resort's The Buffet has all you can eat crab legs daily along with themed food stations for $38.99 per person. On Tuesdays, they feature buy-one-get-one free! And, player card holders pay $3 less per person. It's a pretty awesome deal. I've only had great service at The Buffet. The waiters get our drink orders fulfilled and check on us regularly to remove dishes or refill drinks or offer coffee at the end of the meal. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Food stations are kept tidy and the myriad of desert offerings is always impressive. Our recent visit was on par. Food was decent, not great. Choices are good but it's a smallish buffet. However, the crab legs were delicious and they kept the tray filled. The desserts were awesome - cheesecake bites, fruit tarts, chocolate covered strawberries, blueberry cobbler, apple cinnamon bread pudding. Unfortunately, their frozen yogurt/ice cream machine wasn't working though. Definitely worth a visit on a Tuesday evening if you're on the fence about trying The Buffet.

Came for the BOGO buffet on Tuesday nights. We got there at about 6pm and had to wait in line for about 20 min, not terrible. Now we must say the service is super friendly! But they are very short staffed. Our waiter was wonderful but overwhelmed with the amount of people flooding in. It would take him 10-20 min to refill our drinks because of the amount of people. Now... the place was not clean. The floors were filthy with food, no matter where you stepped. The tables had leftover food for roughly an hour before the busboy came to clean it up. The food was mediocre at best... we were excited for the crab, BUT THE CRAB WAS SUUUUUPER SALTY and a bit dry, I felt like I drank the ocean. This made it borderline impossible to eat. We did not get seconds. (Maybe this is a strategy?) The prime rib on the other hand was decent, no complaints on it. We also tried the fish, very dry. The Thai shrimp was good. But the clams were so dehydrated, every other bite had pieces of shell or sand. My wife advised the clam chowder was actually really good, that it had a special seasoning to it. The dessert was actually the better half of the experience. Yes, by about 730, they stopped making things, but if you ask nicely, they might be able to fill some of your orders. The cream puffs were my favorite, cookies were okay, crème brûlée and the fruit tart were good. Overall food: 2.5 Overall service: 4.

BOGO (buy one / get one free) and Buffets go together like PB & J. They just do. And so does the Buffet at J Resorts offers BOGO on Tuesdays for all player card holders. The Buffet restaurant area is nice, bigger than it looks. The staff work hard and seemed to be always there to clear plates and offer refills. The buffet itself is not the biggest in the world but they seemed to have the right foods on offer so that you never felt you were missing out. The seafood selection is legit, with Crab Legs taking center stage. There is a strong offering of shrimp (prepared in a variety of ways), steamed clams and a couple types of fish. I can work with this. For the carnivores, Prime Rib is the star. The Prime Rib was very good, full of flavor but not dry nor over cooked. Along side of the prime rib was a Turkey Breast. They also served grilled chicken, Bulgoki style ribs and tradtional pork ribs. There was a full on Baked Potato Bar, with proper mutant sized potatoes with all the fixings. The dessert section seemed to go on forever, with a solid selection of cakes, tarts, mousse and other treats. There was soft serve ice cream and a large selection of freshly baked cookies. BOGO and Buffets go together like PB&J. For roughly $20 (with BOGO), the Buffet at J Resorts offered a good selection of quality foods at a value of a price.

The overall quality varies but they do usually have snow crab legs at dinner regularly, which is the main reason we would choose this buffet. (Atlantis only does crab on the higher priced weekends). They recently did a special Crab event at $80pp and there was no line at all, probably just too expensive in this economy. They had cold Jonah claws, snow and Dungeness clusters, mini crab cakes, and crab soup. They also advertised King crab but what they had was just the skinny tips which you were given a ticket for one plate. Not worth the price paid, but the cold crab was good quality. I would say thier higher priced special nights just aren't worth it, but the regular weekday with locals discount is decent. Tip: if you prefer warmed crab they will steam it for you or you can have the mongolian grill warm it up with or without asian sauces.

That should tell you everything you need to know. Our first interaction was with the buffet manager Vasco and he set the tone immediately. Warm, engaging and genuinely personable. My husband struck up a conversation with him about his watch and it turned into one of those interactions that just makes you smile. Vasco was just as great when we saw him again on Sunday. Our server Jose on Saturday was attentive and kind throughout the entire evening and our server on Sunday was equally as wonderful, I just wish I had caught his name. Now let me talk about the food because I know what you might be thinking. If you have been to one casino buffet you have been to them all. That was not the case here. Everything I tasted was good and I mean everything. Not one miss between my husband and me all night. But the dessert selection is what really got me. I have been to cruises, all inclusive resorts and plenty of casino buffets and the dessert spread here stood out. We are talking large slices of cheesecake, cookies, apple fritters, glazed donuts, lava cake, red velvet cupcakes, beignets, what tasted like gelato with toppings and so much more. My husband was especially happy about the apple fritters. Oh and I cannot leave this out. When I walked up to the register Sunday morning the cashier complimented my dress and honestly it just made my whole morning. Little things like that go a long way. Overall a really wonderful experience both days. The food, the service and the people made it memorable. We will definitely be back.

I came here during the holiday, Mother's Day, which had an influx of guests at the restaurant. The server throughout my dining experience was Tori. She was recently hired as a new server and wasn't too knowledgeable about the menu as of yet. With that being said, I desired to show patience and grace since she was still in the training stage. I proceeded to order the following items for dinner: * Oysters on the Half Shell (6) * Lobster Bisque Bowl * $29 Special - Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes The entire occurrence presented as quite interesting, to say the least. I first received the oysters. It had arrived with an empty serving vessel, which was supposed to be filled with the mignonette sauce. Tori quickly fixed this mistake. The oysters met expectations in terms of freshness and quality. They were very delicious with the mignonette sauce, cocktail sauce, and lemon juice. Then, I received the Lobster Tomato Bisque. The soup was lacking in flavor and needed help in the seasoning department. I grabbed the peppercorn grinder, which was readily available at the table. Upon twisting the grinder, a lot of peppercorns fell into the soup unfortunately. I kindly requested that Tori replace the soup. A nearby table had the same situation, where an individual had a bunch of pink salt spill over the baked potato dish. Tori was also their server. I noticed that Tori pointed at me and mentioned to the party that I did the same action. When making that observation, I was quite embarrassed. I understood that Tori was trying to make the other table feel better but the finger-pointing provided a slightly unpleasant feeling to me. I finally received the Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes as the entree. However, it took a total of 1.5 hours to arrive at the table. It was quite long and a little frustrating, especially since I've noticed that a couple of parties that seated after me ordered the same meal deal and their food arrived before mine. The steak and shrimp were delectable. The green beans were bland (used butter, pepper + salt) and the mashed potatoes were decent in flavor. All in all, the evening at Boomtown Steakhouse was underwhelming. From the food taking a while to come out, sitting down at a wobbly table, the soup tasting bland, and the overall hospitality from Tori, the experience left some room to be desired. At the end, I truly appreciated the complimentary chocolate mousse dessert. This offering made up slightly for everything that had transpired. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant on a holiday, including Mother's Day. When I decide to return here, it will be on a regular weekday.

This spot gets busy and the wait time can be long. Once seated, you get a rundown of how everything works. If you have been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, you'll be familiar with the set up. You have a chip to flip to green if you want to be offered more and then it can be flipped to red to signal you are taking a break. Wait staff are very observant and offer meats if your chip is green. It was nice when wait staff asked if there was an option we had not gotten to try yet and he made it a point to make sure it came our way at some point during the meal. I was disappointed with how some of the meat was cooked but it's understandable since it's a large portion to be served to everyone. Some of the lamb and sirloin were very dry. The tri tip and rib eyes were the best. Their salad bar in the middle is unlimited but of course you don't want to fill up on sides. I'd suggest the scallop potatoes and the mushroom risotto. Lots of drink options and wine. They were coming around serving a liquer 43 cocktail which was actually incredibly enjoyable. A little bit of a caffeine kick to get you through the heavy meal. Overall, better experience but there are still areas I think can be improved to make this even better and can stand with other comparable Brazilian restaurants around the CA/NV areas.
