I've now tried this place twice. Both times the food has been ok, but this is really what I call an Instagram restaurant. The store is nice looking and the food is pretty in presentation, but at the end of the day its food and taste is what matters most. Also both times I've been here we waiting over 40 minutes FOR A BAGEL!!! What's frustrating is as someone who's worked in kitchens before it's very clear where the hold up is. The guy running the kitchen has 0 idea how to run a line. Customers piled up 15 deep and you have the bright idea to be working on 1-2 bagels at a time. Guys, get your tickets and get the bagel and cream cheese ready for 7-8 at a time, if they need meat start cooking that and get the ball rolling. Bagels here are great and the store runs well. Yes, it is small and can get cramped but, so what. We always get everything bagel with cream cheese or butter. I was hesitant to bite into the first bagel for fear of disappointment, but after having my second bagel today (1 day old) o can affirmatively say these bagels are really, really good. The bagel (I toasted mine) had the perfect outer crunch unlike any bagel I've ever had in Atlanta. The inside is perfectly airy and with the perfect chew but it's the crust that really sold me. The everything and the pumpernickel everything are absolutely delicious, and I am sure as I try other flavors I will not be disappointed. Came here with my husband and toddler for Sunday brunch. We got there around 12 and had to wait in line for 20-30 minutes before we placed our order. We got the "standard" bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, a french toast bagel with cinnamon pecan cream cheese, an apple muffin, and a homemade pop tart. Everything was delicious! Not one complaint about the food. Will definitely come back again! Seating was very limited inside so that was a little tough to navigate. Once we had placed our order, it only took about 5-10 minutes for order to come out. Staff there were very friendly but they were very busy! Coming here was a mistake on some many levels. 1. The bagels are off on texture and flavor. There are MUCH better bagels to be found in ATL 2. The bagels here are pretty solid compared to anything else in the area. Enjoy the variety as well as the cream cheese options. The bialy bombs are really good! The only complaint I'd have is the sandwiches. The Italian sandwich looked so good. And honestly the sandwich had really good portions and the inside tasted great - but you can't offer an Italian sandwich only on a bagel or rye. The bread took away from it. paid for my order with cash and the total was $16.15. I paid with a $20 bill. The person at the register told me he didn't have enough change (1st problem cause your a business that accepts cash). I offered to give him a quarter to make the change easier. Meaning I paid total of $20.25 and the change would now be $4.10 instead of $3.85. He argued with me and told me my change would still be $3.85 cause that's what his register was showing. It's simple math her folks. Came here on Thursday around 1pm for a quick lunch. The bagel sandwiches were well made and very generous with the ingredients. However the cinnamon roll we bought to take home for Friday morning was basically raw dough despite looking very appetizing. Totally worth visiting for bagels. I look forward to their working out the customer service kinks as they learn. It's tough to be an independent (non franchise) eatery but good customer service critical to success. On my quest for a classic NY bagel we tried the Bronx Bagel buggy. The bagels have a nice chew and they are a nice size. There have many different flavors and they have a take on a chocolate babka bagel and a pecan type as well. The bialys are really onion rolls. We didn't try the shmears because there was no vegetable cream cheese version. This place has lines waiting out the door as all new establishments should have. Good for them. I was so excited to hear a bagel shop had opened near me. We got there at 12:15 and got our food at 2:30pm. We ordered 6 bagels and a couple of cream cheeses. Nothing needed to be heated, assembled, or grabbed from the back. It took over an hour to order do we decided to pivot and not order sandwiches so we could get food quickly and leave because we had plans. Instead of packaging up the bagels we ordered (again, untoasted, unsliced) at the counter, we had to wait for our order. I don't think that makes the most sense, but if that's the system fine. What was not fine is the utter lack of management of inventory and organization in putting out orders. Several people who ordered after me got their sandwiches before we got our bag of bagels. In fact, they were working around my order specifically and I had to ask for our bagels. By that point they had run out of some of the flavors because they had been allocated to orders after me. Although it definitely isn't the same as real NY bagels, the bagels here are still pretty good! We got there around 12pm on a rainy Saturday and there was a line out the door. There was only one person taking your order, who, no offense, was pretty slow. If you order just bagels, it doesn't take too long but if you order anything more complicated (i.e. the sandwiches), the wait is pretty bad. The space is cute but pretty small/cramped, especially since there are so many people waiting. It's definitely not a place to sit and munch on a bagel but we weren't expecting to do that anyways. I'm not sure if the heater was broken or if it has to be that hot for the bagels but it was also pretty hot/stuffy in there. But the workers were much nicer and more polite than most places in Atlanta lol. All in all, the bagels (plain, chocolate, blueberry, salt) were good and the lox bagel sandwich was good. Being from Long Island I can share these are NOT authentic NY bagels. If they are boiled, not long enough. The fake egg on an everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese is awful, it was a square premade egg. In NY you get a cooked to order egg. We tried 4 different bagels and three different ways all were meh at best. The bagels were extremely dry, but something with the BEC on Everything had an off taste, maybe it was the egg. No refillable fountain drinks, can of Coke $3.50. The staff is why the only reason I this gave this place 2 stars, they were super nice and the only reason it isn't a 1 star review. read more

I wish there was a way to rate a 3.5, the bagels almost made it, and I was fortunate that there were only four people ahead of me, and it still took 15 minutes. As the New York bagel queen, the outside of both the bialy and the everything bagel were just about perfect. But I can't understand why so many people think a fluffy inside is the way bagels should be. There needs to be a chew to it. The only 5 star bagel that I have found in Atlanta is Bagelicious. And they have minis which I have never found anywhere else and are the perfect size for breakfast. Bagels are hit or miss. I got jalapeño cheddar with no jalapeño except 1/4 ring sized piece. The Standard breakfast sandwich was good but a little too salty. My wife got the same thing but on everything bagel and it was toasted to death. The line didn't move at all the first 10-15 minutes and then it slowly chugged along. Overall, it took 45 minutes to put in an order and maybe 10 more minutes to get food. We got here around 10:30am Saturday. The lady at the cash register makes way too much small talks. She needs to be aware of the long line and make people move along instead of explaining every thing about the menu and the place. They also need a manager that can help out in any role. The only guy making the sandwiches went to the back for several minutes so there were no bagels being made until he came back. The owner or whoever is the manager should be able to spot that and help out. Overall, the food was good enough to come back and try other things but I would not revisit unless the service improves. read more

The Bronx Bagel Buggy recently opened in Chamblee. I've eaten their bagels at the Brookhaven Farmers market and was genuinely excited when they opened up around the corner from my office. The food is good and fills a much needed gap in this area for a bagel place. That said, the efficiency needs great improvement. I envisioned this as a place I could stop 3 to 4 times a week on my way into work to grab coffee and a bagel, much like the bagel buggies in NY they are named after. I ordered a coffee and a bagel. I just wanted a plain bagel, not sliced or toasted or schmear, or a sandwich. I waited in the long line at the register which seems to take a eternity for anyone to place an order, and rather than turn around and just grab my bagel, i had to wait behind all of the sandwiches which were being made. All in all, I can't wait 20 minutes multiple times per week for a coffee and a quick breakfast. Additionally, I tried to go a few other times and either they weren't open on a random day of the week, or the line was overwhelmingly long (again probably due to the above issues). I want the shop to make it. I want this shop to succeed and I want to visit it frequently, but time is very important to most people, and I can't dedicate that much of a morning to waiting for a bagel when there are other options. I really hope the owners read this and take heart on how to fix their throughput, but they are probably scaring off as many customers who see the line as who are in the line. read more
