For how much I had heard about this place the bagel was very underwhelming, got the everything with cream cheese. The bagel itself was almost rock hard and tough to bite through, the cream cheese was good. I did not have an issue with a long line, but the bagel itself was not good. The Bronx Bagel Buggy recently opened in Chamblee. I've eaten their bagels at the Brookhaven Farmers market and was genuinely excited when they opened up around the corner from my office. The food is good and fills a much needed gap in this area for a bagel place. That said, the efficiency needs great improvement. I envisioned this as a place I could stop 3 to 4 times a week on my way into work to grab coffee and a bagel, much like the bagel buggies in NY they are named after. I ordered a coffee and a bagel. I just wanted a plain bagel, not sliced or toasted or schmear, or a sandwich. I waited in the long line at the register which seems to take a eternity for anyone to place an order, and rather than turn around and just grab my bagel, i had to wait behind all of the sandwiches which were being made. All in all, I can't wait 20 minutes multiple times per week for a coffee and a quick breakfast. Additionally, I tried to go a few other times and either they weren't open on a random day of the week, or the line was overwhelmingly long (again probably due to the above issues). I want the shop to make it. I want this shop to succeed and I want to visit it frequently, but time is very important to most people, and I can't dedicate that much of a morning to waiting for a bagel when there are other options. I really hope the owners read this and take heart on how to fix their throughput, but they are probably scaring off as many customers who see the line as who are in the line. read more

Great bagels!!! The place was a bit small and very busy. There was a bit of a wait, but the food was worth the wait!! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Seeing the bagels made fresh to order on the premises was great. Only complaint is that the heat was a bit stifling. All in all, we'll worth the drive. We spent almost an hour and a half waiting (20 in line and then OVER AN HOUR after ordering). We finally left because we didn't have time to wait any longer and we were starving. This is one of the most inefficient places I've ever been. It was also ridiculously expensive. We spent $50 for 2 bagel sandwiches, a tea and coffee, and two extra bagels (that we never got), and when I asked for honey for my tea they suggested I buy the whole bottle... on top of that they asked for a tip when they don't even serve you. I will absolutely never come back here. You'll get much better service in a fraction of the time and price at Goldberg's. Don't come here. I was really excited to try out a new NY style bagel place in Chamblee. Arrived at around 9 AM on Saturday and things smelled pretty good, was willing to wait a bit. The place was very cramped and busy. Some of the bagels were a bit pricy but maybe not unreasonable for a sandwhich with lox. Ended up leaving with no food at a bit 11 AM after waiting for about 2 hours. Very disappointed and only wish to have my time and money back. I tried to go here during the first few weeks. Much too long a line, so I went away. I finally got a chance to go there today. The line was short. I ordered a sesame bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomato, onion, capers. The bagel was wonderful. Great crust, and perfect inner texture. The problem was that there was so much cream cheese that I could barely detect the other ingredients. Next time maybe there is a way to order this deconstructed so that I can control the proportions. read more

The bagels are outstanding. Don't like they don't put garlic or everything bagels in the same bag as other bagels. Ideally, those are typically put into smaller bags within the larger bag because the other Bagels take on that flavor, which is distinctive and strong. The staff is good and remains cool because they definitely have some Kinks to work out as they just opened recently. The audience is less than desirable to sit down and have a bagel. We had planned to sit down have coffee and a bagel and because the line backed up and it was super crowded and they only have about five tables we bailed. So if you're looking to sit down and enjoy a bagel and coffee, we would not recommend it. If you're looking for a good bagel and are willing to wait, then go for it. We will not be returning for a few months, and we'll wait until they get the kids worked out it's just not worth the wait from our perspective. They are bagels fantastic bagels but they are bagels. The lady that comes out occasionally and yells hello good morning and set well she's not in New York even if she's from New York it falls a little flat. read more

Point of sale is a disaster. It took 25 minutes to take the orders of six people. The food preparers were standing around with nothing to do while two people were trying to figure out the point of sale terminal. I wanted to love this place, I really did. I understand it is a new business, but it is clear that the ownership has zero experience in the restaurant business. They've received the same online criticism about the long wait and operational inefficiency, but they've done nothing about it. A 55-minute wait for one bagel with schmear and one lox sandwich is unacceptable. With a modest tip, BREAKFAST was nearly $30.00. To have any prayer of staying open, they need a consultant to show them how to tighten their ship. They have one toaster, which is part of the problem. My bagel came out very dark, was too crunchy, and it actually hurt my mouth. Based on the experience of our fellow customers, we checked our bag when the order came out, and it was wrong. The one pro is that they are generous with the sandwich filling, but I won't return to this establishment. Goldberg's is a much better experience and has better quality, variety, customer experience, and pricing. read more

As ratings drop on review sites from ticked off customers they have no one to blame but themselves . The wait is very long , the service is awful yet the food is decent . The small interior is so damn hot you suffocate while standing inside . The efficiency of your establishment is appalling. For you the owners to be sitting at a table oblivious to the pain on everyone's face while someone's grandmother tries to execute a brand new establishment is really unacceptable. 20 minutes to get 5 bagels to go when only one person in front of you is appalling. The owners never looked up from the table that they were sitting in to offer any help. Two young ladies looking on from the sidelines didn't lift a finger to help. What a total disaster. Asking for someone's name instead of a number doesn't work when there are 3 people name James only adds to the confusion. There is no sense of urgency as if everything is running smoothly. Pitch in and help out for crying out loud and not let this grandmother go down in flames. Can't you see that she is struggling at the computer or don't you care. My neighbor and I went to check it out at what we thought would be a fairly quiet time for a coffee and bagel shop, 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. The place wss packed and there was a line out the door. The cashier said the crowd had been a consistent size since 7:30 am! I'm not surprised - it was great! I had a cheese & jalapeno bagel with a schmeer of plain cream cheese and a coffee. The bagel was outstanding - tender on the inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. She had a tuna salad bagel sandwich, which she said was delicious, too. There were other items on display at the counter like Irish bangers in bagels, and a tray of pizza bagels that looked mouth watering! The interior is very cool with a cozy retro vibe. The back wall has a glass window so you can see the bagels being made. I feel that's always a good sign. There was a fairly large staff behind the counter, toasting bagels, assembling sandwiches, making coffee, and taking orders. Everyone was efficient and pleasant, despite the rush. We really enjoyed everything about the place and will be adding it to our regular rotation. read more

Overcrowded but the young crowd was nice. This is a very skinny place, right shoulder to shoulder at this hour but the red booths and b/w motif soothe. Their hats are ridiculous and I saw no hair nets. touching that a couple of short mothers work the place too with mobil registers in hand. the owner was right in there hoofing it. Please TRAIN YOUR STAFF. The menu is promising, and it's understandable to have a wait on a Sunday at noon, but it's just too poorly run. Ordered an espresso. Waited 10 minutes, went back and it hadn't been made. The counter girl was nice and pushed the button and gave it to me quickly. Paper cup for dining in, no sugar out. Waited 30 minutes for 2 bagles and when they called my name it was to inform me that they were out of tomato. No apology. Main problem is just a general lack of urgency. The place was filled with frustrated customers waiting for orders and they just maintained their nonchalant pace. I will say I heard one worker apologize several times as he handed frustrated people their orders, but the efficiency and pace of service need to improve. My bagel was ok. Not NY. Prices were high-ish, but that;s most joints these days. I hope they can find some employees with a little giddy-up. read more
