The coffee here was delicious! I had large Americano. Very smooth ove. I also had a few sips of the Kona Freeze with no whipped cream. That thing was fantastic! The staff and overall vibe is such a relaxing space. They were playing 70s yacht rock that just added to the overall experience. This place is a little funky but I'm here for it. It feels a little cozy. I like it. The dessert was extra gooey and decadent. We had a chocolate cheesecake brownie. Wow! So rich, with on the cusp of being too thick. I would order it and split it. My bf stopped by to pick up a coffee and banana bread for himself, and an iced vanilla latte and muffin for me. I consumed the coffee right when he brought it home and dug into the muffin later. Thankfully, I cut it in half first... which is when I discovered green/mold at the bottom. He needed to head back that way anyway so he took the evidence mostly just to alert them so they didn't sell these muffins to anyone else. The people who worked there were very apologetic and even refunded the entire order from that morning, not just the cost of the muffin. I'll give it three stars for the exemplary way they handled the situation but I'd definitely be weary of ordering any baked good from here in the future. Since the Publix in this plaza closed, there's even more parking than there was before. I was also pleased to see that the opening hours are 6:30/7 am to 7 pm daily. I do like to support small businesses versus the larger chains like Starbucks so I would go back for the coffee which is comparably priced. read more

Love my neighborhood coffee spot. they have plenty of options for drinks, some unique signature drinks like the Nutty Irishman (one of my faves), and good old fashioned brew. The iced lattes in the summer are delicious and refreshing. I love being able to stop by here because most folks in the area would have to drive to a chain spot vs. something local. I like supporting local. The baristas are always friendly. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you order, so keep that in mind. They have many pastries and snacks that you can grab also. They just completed a renovation in November 2025, so the aesthetic is more modern and sleek. Stop by and check them out! read more

We tried this coffee shop while on our errands run and I'm was quite impressed with the quality of the coffee, born selection and taste. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. My boyfriend needed to get his car serviced, so after dropping it off, we decided to get coffee while waiting. I wanted to do something different than our typical Starbucks, Costa, or Caribou coffee chain runs, so I conducted a search for local coffee shops within a mile or so from the dealership. ChocoLate was one spot that populated. I'd seen it before but had never been, so I drove us over in my car and we decided to give it a chance! Situated in a small shopping center near Publix, ChocoLate is an unassuming, charming little cafe with local flair. There's a lot of character! We walked in and the kind and helpful staff answered any questions we had. I decided to get their signature drink: Romania Latte (Always in a 8 oz. cup, steamed half and half, honey, and espresso). I got a double. When the woman making my drink handed me my order, she explained that they ratio each ingredient in a specific way so it's not all the way full, but if I wanted more milk, she would put more in. I was perfectly cool with it as is, but that was considerate of her to let me know! I absolutely loved it. The quality tasted top notch and you really could detect every ingredient inside. My boyfriend enjoyed his drink as well (he just got a black coffee and added cream)! We will definitely be back! read more

I love this place! This used to be my go to spot during high school/college. The other Decatur location is near my work but I prefer making the drive to the shallowford location. They're usually way more consistent with making drinks. They're so friendly here and it's always nice to see familiar faces plus they sometimes write the cutest messages on your coffee cup! My go to's are an iced whole milk latte and recently I discovered their iced matcha! Their fraps are also soooo good but I prefer their iced latte's nowadays. They also have a huge selection of pastries. Me and my mom really like their lemon bars and their beef patties are pretty good! Despite the weird parking lot entrance, this place is worth a visit if you're in the area. They have a good selection of pastries and food items as well as a full coffee menu. I love the set up on the inside, they have great seating options for those who want to work or meet with people. I love the design for the logo! They sell stickers for a dollar, or if they are free if you put them on the your laptop or water bottle while you're there! This feels like a place that probably has a lot of regulars, but I don't live near by it so I don't know that I'll get the chance to go any time soon. Service was fake and not genuine; ask more than 1 question and you can feel their tension rise. Ambience was ok, not very welcoming but their patio chair with no cushion is comfortable and that's even without a cushion. Now here is the kicker: the taste of their coffee sucks. This was a big deal for me. Would I go back- no!! There is no feeling inside of me that would make me want to jump out of bed in the morning to go get an overpriced mediocre cup of coffee from Chocolaté Coffee Shop on 2558 Shallowford Rd. Whenever I visit my old hood in Chamblee, Georgia - I make sure to stop by one of my favorite coffee shops. ChocoLate Coffee on Shallowford Road is a great venue for any coffee enthusiasts. I ordered a hot skinny caramel macchiato recently that did not disappoint. I grabbed some macaroons as well. ChocoLate Coffee has a lot more gluten-free food options than most coffee shops. Off the end of an Atlanta strip mall and next to a Publix, this coffee shop is unassumingly impressive from the outside, but ended up being pleasantly surprised! I'm a sucker for trying out local coffee shops when I travel, and I happened to find this place as most coffee shops close after 5pm on weekend days. The inside of this coffee shop is cozy with its handwritten menu and rather random decor. The menu itself also had very unique items, such as Chocolate Coffee, Romania Coffee, and a variety of signature lattes for those that enjoy something sweeter. I simply ordered an Americano, which ended up being not too overly bitter nor watered down. They also have a good number of cup sizes, and pricing is pretty standard to most local cafés. This was once our "go to" for coffee after a swim at the Dynamo Club on Shallowford Road, but lately it has been disappointing. The delicious biscotti are no longer regular pastry options. Many of the tables are wobbly. The restroom is dirty (and the last time we were there seemed to be closed for the day, so one had to trek to Publix next door to use the facilities). The staff can't seem to get the idea of a concentrated Americano with just a bit of hot water so the espresso shots come through nice and strong. I don't mind paying their prices for a cup of really good coffee, but on our last visit the Americano was watery and bland, and filled nearly to the brim of the cup with hot water. I hope the shop is simply going through a bad patch at the moment, but for us there are many other, better coffee options in our area. read more

Let's start with the latte was good. I would give 2.5 stars for that. This was my first time coming here. I get lattes regularly and wanted to try this place near my house. However, Once I paid I realized I was charge $7+. On the menu it states the latte at $4.50. When I asked the staff about this they told me I was charged for getting almond milk. (I can't drink cows milk) when I mentioned that this was an allergy they didn't care and told me you could just get black coffee if you don't like the pricing. So then I asked why it was a $2.50+ up charge for almond milk, they said there was also a cc fee... overall after one coffee and an uncomfortable, disregarding run in with the staff, it's safe to say I won't be coming back. What a cute little place! The sofas and eclectic lighting give the place a warm cozy feeling (especially given the rain today...), and I love the ceiling tiles that shout out local groups! It's always nice to see an establishment show off their ties to the community. The woman working the register was very sweet and accommodating to my first-timer self, and my drink was pretty great to boot! I got the mocha with almond milk (almost forgot I was pretty lactose intolerant until she asked me if I wanted whipped cream), and it's a little darker and smoother than most other mochas I've had. You can find Chocolatte in the Shallowford Exchange shopping center anchored by Publix, right off I85 North before hitting Spaghetti Junction. There aren't a lot of food options in the immediate vicinity (Publix Deli, Marco Pizza and similar). This is a cute, independent coffee shop that is frequented by locals. I believe it's the closest coffee shop to my home in Northcrest (there used to be one in Embry Village outside the Perimeter on Chamblee-Tucker, however it's now been gone for some time). Whenever I can, I like to visit and support local independent businesses, especially if they offer good products. The coffee at Chocolatte Coffee is quite good. Note that "vente" doesn't make much sense here - ask for an XL. The interior offers limited seating and menus written in chalk above a short counter. You can get all your specialty coffee drinks here and a limited assortment of baked goods and bagels. This is a small shop with a very friendly and efficient staff - I've occasionally visited and have seen customers lounging with a cup reading SciFi so this is definitely a well-geeked abode for those of us who love coffee and tech. Parking can be a bit weird - it's easier to bypass the main entry (at the light) and continue to the next while traveling South-East from I85 - the second entry allows you to access the parking along the side of the business. Entering from the main entry forces you to continue around the parking lot and can be somewhat difficult to exit when it's time to depart. My favorite drink, a large iced Americano. read more

The drink was very good but I felt $4 for a small is a bit steep. The pie wasn't anything unique, definitely not fresh as in made today. This place is independently owned. It's a small, cozy shop.
