I was walking around downtown, and it was way too hot, so I decided to check out The Churchill. It was my first time visiting since I'm from Vegas. I noticed a bar called The Brill Line and tried an Old Fashioned and a single malt since they had a few options. 1/24/2025 first time here, I ordered 3 green teas, specifically asked for Jamison was not served. Jamison was instead served a bottle of unlabeled liquor, I mentioned to him that I asked for Jamison, he then showed me the unlabeled bottle he called a "mix", who knows what is in this. From the very beginning if he wasn't gonna serve me what I asked for he should've just said I cannot serve you what you're asking for instead of billing me and tipping his own self $7.17. I've been here a couple of times. Brill Line Beer is one of many local businesses that operate inside the Churchill. It is nice to be able to order some food, then walk over here and grab a drink before sitting down. They have a nice selection of beers and cocktails to choice from. You can check out the Untappd app ahead of time to see what beers are on tap. The bartenders have always been attentive when I order something here. My big knock is the wall that separates the dining area and the bar area. It is a small space to stand and wait to order. It's also gets pretty crowded in front of the bar because of all the foot traffic trying to get through. read more

Located in the Churchill, this is a great spot for drinks. The drinks are a little on the pricey side, but they make up for it in how good they are. They have a michelada on the menu called the Snap Back that is the best michelada I've ever had. It's kind of spicy and matches perfect with the Crispy rice beer they serve it with (and you get the rest of the can too). I've also had a great manhattan there, too. And the beer list is pretty decent. All in all, this is a spot I would choose when trying to decide where to grab a drink with a friend. I'll take a line thrown by Brill Line any day. Counter was clean and all supplies were organized. This is more of a bar in an outdoor food court, so there isn't much to say about restaurant temperature, decor, or clientele. There is a lot of seating in the court and heated with lamps. Parking is metered and can be hard to find. The bartender was very friendly, easy to talk to, and skilled. We ordered several on tap beers and cocktails and all were pleasant to delicious. Cocktails had a beautiful presentation. Affordable, worth the price. Next visit, I'll explore more of the draft beers, there were close to 25 on their menu. Located in the hipster mecca of Phoenix...The Churchill. Am I a hipster nah, to old, but a wanted a cold beer to go with my hipster sandwich I got next door. The Churchill is a super cool, open-air place to get great food... but I would get your drinks at one of the other places in the venue, I don't think the bartender knew what they had behind the bar...or he was lazy...or stoned...when I walked up, I saw a row of cans of beer and I asked for a Modern Times Ale. He mumbled something about an IPA and I though, hmmm a Modern Times IPA, I'll go on his suggestion. He turned and poured me a draft from the line of unmarked spouts behind the bar. I was taken aback thinking the cans of beer represented the draft beers...I asked what he just poured me and he said "such n such IPA"...not anywhere near a Modern Times I asked for. I told him I gathered at some point during the transaction that I thought the cans represented the kegs...he seemed kinda confused at that point so I just went with it...and here we are... Stopped by for a drink the night before their grand opening. They have a wide selection of beer and cocktails. I got the pink Negroni, it was okay. Their old fashioned was also okay. The bartender was cool, and the atmosphere is cool but other than that I do prefer Pobrecito to Brill Line. Difficult thing to open up two bars in a venue like Churchill, but I think it works since they're such different types of bars. Service sucks! Went for beers. Girl behind the bar was messing about with highball glasses for a ridiculously long time while a line formed. Wife and I thought she must have been a bar back and not allowed to serve alcohol considering the amount of time she took. She eventually came to where we were and made a mixed drink. Others who came after us were served almost immediately. I went to the other bar(20feet away) while the rest of my party stayed. For an overcrowded, overpriced, super competitive venue....(The Churchill)...this place nails it. Great service regardless of the throng of hipsters not drinking but taking up space at the bar. Nice draft list. True, the cost is aboot two dollars more per draft compared to other places around the valley, but if you think of it as a luxury tax, you'll be able to swallow the mark up. This bar is in a little courtyard of a couple bars and a couple little restaurants all made up of Shipping containers! Couple little shops mixed in too. Yes, you will see a shipping container theme in a few of my reviews. I like them. Anyway, the whole place is a little bit hipster millennial meets industrial. it's a good Bar, lots of draft choices and a full bar. 10-12 seats at the bar or grab some food from one of the other shopping containers and grab a seat in the center area, some benches, tables, couches. This place is a GEM. I couldn't believe their selection of allocated beers and whiskeys, and their prices were incredibly fair. Some of his offerings he could charge your firstborn for, and Brian clearly has the earnest integrity and hospitality drive to just want locals to get a chance to try some of his rarer whiskey bottles (e.g., BTAC and Pappy) at fair prices. Brian helped us the entire night and was so patient and welcoming, introducing us to new local treasures and chatting with us about industry trends.
