We were visiting a relative in town and my wife, son and I took him for a late lunch at the diner. (Which we treated as breakfast, served all day. We were seated at a booth near the entrance...the upholstery needed a little help, and overall the place could use a little sprucing up. There's advertising on everything...the placemats, the coffee mugs, the glasses. At first, I thought it was a retro decor style choice until I realized all of these were featuring current local business ads. The coffee was okay. I've had worse but there was some flavor in it so it was a step above the "browned water" you can get at other places. The food was good enough for a classic diner experience. Not elevated in any way, but classic dishes served, well, classically. The breakfast potatoes were good and I was happy they were able to do egg whites without any question or up-charge in my breakfast. Portion sizes were okay. My teenage son needed to ask for an additional piece of French toast with his meal as he was still hungry after finishing the initial serving (with eggs and potatoes) We can chalk that up to a teenage appetite. I think the sweet-spot of the Cobleskill diner is the prices. They're low. You can get the same meal at diners in other places for twice the price. This makes it feel like a place that supports the local community. Our server was nice and took good care of us.

I genuinely enjoyed the dressing and asked for the recipe three times out of curiosity. On the third time, I was told she wouldn't share it--but would be willing to sell it to me. That response rubbed me the wrong way. In today's economy, that kind of cold and transactional reply from a small business I've supported feels off-putting and greedy. On top of that, I tried a "tiramisu cookie" that had no coffee flavor, no mascarpone, nothing that even remotely resembled tiramisu. It tasted like a plain sugar cookie, and honestly, it felt like false advertising. If you're going to market something as tiramisu, it should at least reflect the flavors of what you're promising. Between that and the secretive dressing situation, I can't help but question whether the dressing is even homemade--or if it's just bottled and marked up. These experiences have made me lose trust in the brand and what it claims to represent. I won't be returning.

We walked here from our hotel (Hilton) as parking anywhere/everywhere in Saratoga can be a challenge. There is street parking right in front of Sweet Mimi's but it'll probably be taken so you should probably just walk. And you'll appreciate the walk to help burn off a few calories of Sweet Mimi's delicious offerings. (And there are plenty to partake in.) We enjoyed the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Mediterranean Omelette. We did not leave disappointed. In fact, our tastebuds and tummies were so happy with our choices. The omelette actually came with the same challah bread that the french toast was made from. If I lived closer, I'd be buying that challah bread every week. It's so freakin' good! The french toast is HUGE! Really... you should share it. The several bites I took were incredibly satisfying. The cinnamon was just right. And because it was already sweet... we opted to forgo the syrup. The french toast also came with a bunch of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries!! The med omelette was filled with sausage, spinach and tomatoes. I loved every bite. I don't know when we'll be back tin Saratoga... but I will definitely be coming back to Sweet Mimi's when I do.

Good deserts, been for lunch a few times. I think it needs a better way to order than just filling out a piece of paper and maybe some specialty sandwiches. Basically food is okay nothing spectacular to make me want to come back, although prices are good and service is friendly. read more

Busy in the morning obviously. Bagels are fair (I'm from downstate) so maybe I am bias. They have a GREAT discounted baked goods section. Also they make GREAT deli sandwiches.... Get it on an Everything bagel... you'll thank me later lol read more

We arrived after lunchtime so we avoided the rush. You order at the counter and take a seat. Staff will bring your order to the table when it's ready. Our order was ready in about 10-minutes. Nancy and my mom ordered the cup of New England Clam Chowder ($6) and I decided on one of their specials - the Chicken Florentine Quesadilla ($14) and a medium coffee. They had 6 different coffee varieties to choose from including decaf but there were only two regular options remaining and were running low. The chowder was hot and delicious. My quesadilla was also hot and had great flavor. The only thing they could have done better is grill the tortilla shell a little longer so that it's more crispy. It was more on the limp side, but still good regardless. The staff bake up a ton of muffins and other yummy looking baked goods daily. Although we didn't try any today I would definitely return to try them next time I'm back in the area. All-in-all, a great spot to stop for breakfast, lunch, or quick snack.
