Blueberry pancakes, bacon and egg
Meg C.

Delicious farm cooked breakfast. Fresh eggs, bacon and huge blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup + creamy and rich chocolate milk. The food was simple, but stellar. Service was good, but putting down your name on the wait list was disorganized and confusing and people tried to cut us, so that was awkward. I recommend coming here for the food, but make sure you have time, as there's definitely a wait on the weekends and their operations are a bit slow.

This is a MUST STOP! Nestled in the Catskills is a hidden gem with farm to table food. The chickens are out back and you eat in the barn! Ok, not a barn with stables but it's a barn like building. You're going to get a hearty breakfast with coffee in real cups and use maple syrup tapped from real maple trees not made in a factory. In fact you can see the bottling system right there. And the cooler with the fresh dairy. So do it. Fly into NY, drive into the Catskills and go have breakfast.

We came here for our friend's wedding brunch and it was excellent. Such a cool little spot. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service.

I really love this place and if you're in the Catskills please stop by for breakfast! If you go on a weekend, go early because it's very popular and gets packed. You can save yourself a wait if you show up at 8-9AM. The staff moves a bit slow, but it's because it's a small team and lots of people want to eat there, but they're so sweet, welcoming and kind. The breakfast is fresh and farm to table so everything taste great. We had the oatmeal (add the syrup on top and it's perfection), French toast, biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs, & coffee. We also picked up a few goodies on the shelf to go. They have syrup, honey, popcorn, etc that you can buy on your way out. They have outdoor and indoor seating so if you're there during the warmer months definitely sit outside and enjoy the fresh air with your breakfast.

I am addicted to their ketchup. Never thought I would put ketchup on pizza . Got some of their elderberry syrup! Also bought some of their frozen chicken soup which I have yet to try... There caramel popcorn is delicious :-)

So pretty!

Lovely stop as we passed through the area. If you're there on weekend mornings you luck out and get the option for breakfast. We bought some great stuff in the shop and it was just a beautiful place overall. Also, the staff were super friendly.

Had a wonderful time here. The owners are so sweet and showed us the maple making process so throughly with many samples. Highly recommend buying the maple ice cream!

Keep an eye our for their daily specials because some of their specials are amazing! They do have a regular menu as well. It is rather limited but the quality is always excellent. Delicious, freshly cooked meals and like others have mentioned, the portions are big! I live in the area and my partner and I usually go at least once a week when they're open! The staff/owners are super polite and you can tell that they have pride in what they do. The country theme is adorable and perfect for the area. The area doesn't offer too many restaurants given that it's a small rural town and they are a huge gift to us over here!

We stood waiting to be…read moreseated, we were completely ignored for several minutes, and then some people who were obviously friends of the woman working there were seated ahead of us. We walked out and stayed away for three years. Yesterday, we decided to give them another chance, so we went back. There was no sign or any indication in any of the daily Facebook publicity that the dining room was closed, and that meal service is takeout only. So we went around to the takeout window, which is NOT handicap accessible (steps only, no ramp), and stand on line to finally learn that the dinner would not be ready for at least 25 minutes (this was at 5:30 PM, not exactly an off hour for dinner service). Did they honestly expect my disabled husband to stand in the blazing summer sun for half an hour? (There were no seats available by the window). I knocked on the door of the dining room hoping we could at least sit down to wait, but they didn't even answer. We left, we will NEVER return, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know in this little town to stay away unless you actually want to be treated badly. I don't care if your food is cordon-bleu, no business should treat their customers with such disregard. I guess they think that, since they are the only restaurant in town that isn't a bar, it's okay to be rude and unaccommodating. We drove to Cobleskill and had a lovely meal at the Cowboy Taquieria on Main Street.

After checking out the menus, we decided on The Cooperstown Diner. Upon entering, this restaurant is SMALL. Twenty five seats are available. The decor is old and the restaurant could use some work. To use the restroom, a person has to walk through the kitchen. I have to take a point off for this. The food, how ever, was most excellent! The hamburgers are made with fresh ground beef and made by hand patties. Make sure you give a temp on the burgers or they arrive at a medium temp. The small burger is seven ounces of beef and sets high on the toasted bun. The chicken salad is house made and is seasoned with an Italian blend of spices. It was served as a melt on toasted, buttered sour dough bread. A very good sandwich. The other meal was the steak sandwich. The roll was toasted and piled high with beef and cheese. The French Fries and Tater Tots are from frozen but prepared well. The menu has a very strong breakfast variety but we didn't see or order a breakfast item. The price is very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. If something out of the norm is something you like, give this place a chance. You will be pleasantly surprised!!!

Had a nice late lunch here on our recent trip. (Note that they are often not open at dinner time.)…read morewe were told that the food and service were good and that they had a few unusual local ingredients incorporated into their menu. For this reason, I decided to go with an Arnold Bennet skillet that included smoked trout. If you at all like the thought of lox and eggs, then you definitely need to try this one. It also had Parmesan, chives, and crème fraiche mixed in. The taste of this combination on a piece of toast was delicious! And something I would happily enjoy again and at reasonable prices. Plus, it was enough food that I finished it for breakfast the next morning. The seating area looks and feels like a typical NY diner. Our waitress was quick and efficient and the coffee was good and fresh. Especially with the limited number of dining locations in the Catskills area, Phoenicia diner is definitely worth a stop.

The cinnamon roll was the same one I had back in March, but unfortunately, the texture wasn't as soft this time. It was noticeably harder, although it was still generously covered in frosting like before. The scrambled eggs were soft and cooked well, but the biscuits and gravy were pretty heavy. The potatoes, however, were amazing! They were nice and crispy, which I really enjoyed. My daughter really enjoyed her meal. She ordered the French toast, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and eggs, and she was very happy with everything. Overall, the food was a mixed experience for me, but there were definitely some highlights--especially those crispy potatoes!
