Needed a drink! I came here on a Saturday around noon. I wanted to have lunch by myself randomly. I thought about this place since it's not really packed in general early in the day. I sat at the bar. I wanted a strong drink so I asked for a vodka martini dry, with a lime and lemon twist. It was just what I wanted. The bartender was training a new employee, the two of them was a great duo. They were very attentive throughout my lunch. He recommended the crispy chicken sandwich which was really good. The chicken was tender and juicy, they had the perfect amount of sauce and pickles. I added a side Caesar salad, to my surprise it was huge! I was only able to finish half of everything. I absolutely live goung here for "Sad Brunch Drag Brunches". The drag brunches are thee absolute best, They never ever disappoint! The brunch menu is simple and easy to choose from! My daughter had the burger with the medium fried egg & baby..it was giving very much....how your grandmother cooks for you on a Subday. A coworker was celebrating her daughter birthday. Said worst food had in a while. Brisket grill cheese- 1 slice of meat in middle of bread, hard, overcooked with 1 slice cheese. Bacon cheeseburger was burned with overcooked bacon. She said they told their server, "Tell the cook thanks for the worst lunch we have had in a while. So glad she posted this on Facebook. Came here to eat, drink, and watch football. No problems with the football. However, the food and service needed adjusting. How are you in business if you're not making sure your customers' glasses are full and food is on the table. Our server kept getting an order at our table wrong. After the 2nd requested adjustment, we never saw her again. I kept having to waive her down whenever I saw her walk across the room. I stayed for a 4-hour game and only got 2 drinks because I got tired of having to chase our server down to order something. The service was so bad that I had to protest the automatic 18% gratuity, which the Mgr was kind enough to remove. I've never had such a dry football sunday. Sundays are for football and drinking. I really enjoy coming to Brass Tap for happy hour. It's a great place to go after work and order from their happy hour drinks and/or food specials! Great neighborhood establishment with lots of beers on draft, good food and plenty of TV's for watching sports. This is a great spot to hang out with some friends on the weekends, or even after work. My favorite item to get were the chicken nachos, they were consistently very well portioned and tasty! What's better is that the happy hour and regular chicken nachos are the same size, so definitely would recommend happy hours. Outside of that the burgers, chicken wings, flatbread, boom boom shrimp and Brussel sprouts are very good. The staff is very friendly here, and if you come often they will recognize you and remember the things you like to order. My friend hangs out at the Brass Tap all the time and we've begun using it as a meet up spot prior to going on adventures and a drop off spot when we're done doing whatever we had planned to do. More and more, I've been coming into the establishment, sitting and having a drink. The Brass Tap isn't a big space, but it's not small either and features a patio, which is super nice in good weather. It's got typical bar 101 furniture, bar stools and high top tables. It's got a comfortable feel in there, plus it's clean, including the bathrooms. I've had food there and I wasn't overly impressed. There's very little food menu wise that appeals to me at this place, unfortunately. The good news is, I don't care about that. The Brass Tap ALWAYS has an excellent beer selection. Last time I went there was a most amazing sour that I hope I can find in bottles somewhere. The beer menu changes a lot, which is cool, I like variety. Oh, and the staff is super nice. Recently stopped in for food waiting for my daughter's award ceremony to start. Have seen the restaurant spot turn over a few times, but saw a restaurant name I was familiar with Brass Tap from Towson, figured had to have a similar menu. What I learned was the two restaurants are separate franchises. The place had a great vibe, busy bartenders and waitresses and everyone was customer friendly. While sitting at the bar with/my mother bartender asked if would we like to sample their selection of ciders. We tried a strawberry cider, a bold rock cider, and another one. After selecting the 2 ciders Bold Rock was the favorite but the seasonal strawberry cider was close. Oftentimes you just get Angry Orchid the normal staple, so this sampling was great to experience with other ciders which are hard-to-find in many restaurant, especially on draft Bold Rock and other varieties. Then I meet a gentleman doing the books, (Executive Chefs always can spot GM's or owners). Barry was friendly, greeting staff that were coming on shift, and old customers. We struck up a conversation for me to bring my nonprofit organization's youth to this establishment. Oftentimes kids in impoverished situations only get to eat at fast food or local sub shops they don't get to broaden their palate, try new cuisine, see new preparations, or ask an owner a question. I wish more restaurants embraced this concept to teach youth their future diner and critics, how to enjoy a meal, appreciate the plating, and experience the ambiance. FOOD for me was (2) an impossible burger taco prepared with cowboy sauce, cotija cheese,jalapeños, and pickled onions. Mom had boneless chicken wings, sauce, and fries. Didn't listen to the explanation to explore the menu, went with normal and was disappointed (not in flavor or preparation) just wanted something else. Parking was not a problem and was available on the street across from the establishment. I came for Sunday brunch and rsvp'd online which required a credit card number to be stored to eliminate cancelations. There was a Live jazz band that played on the inside of the restaurant which could also be heard outside through the speakers which is where I sat. The food and service was way above standards. The pictures don't even do it justice! The staff was amazing and I even had the pleasure of meeting the assistant manager who helped wait on us personally due to the short staffing. It did take a while to get some items but was worth the wait because the ambience, service, and quality of the food was impeccable. I would definitely come back on any day not just Sunday! Can my fellow tater tot lovers make some noise? Okay but really, are you not filled with a fond feeling and a childlike nostalgia? Tater tots are one of my favorite potato forms, and when I found out The Brass Tap offers this as a side to a great meal (The Impossible Burger), I couldn't say no! I placed an order via DoorDash and I had no issues. The restaurant and delivery driver seemed to communicate well. My food was packaged well and arrived on time and warm. The portion is large as well. But if you're feeling rather ravenous like I was, you could definitely eat this all in one sitting. Alright, back to the tater tots (aka the real MVP). They were seasoned well with black pepper and something else that I can't quite put my finger on. I didn't even need the side of ketchup! The Impossible Burger came on a warm, smooth brioche bun and the patty was cooked to perfection. The burger came with tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles. I do wish it were accompanied by an aioli or some other veggies (like onions or jalapeños). The second time I ordered this meal, I made my own modifications by adding some Vegenaise, red onions, and extra tomatoes! The only reason I give four starts to The Brass Tap instead of five is because of inconsistency. I had such a great meal the first time that I placed this exact same order a few additional times and they paled in comparison. The beer selection was amazing; however, the bartenders were either not knowledge or disinterested in being helpful. When we asked if any of the expansive list of IPAs were West Coast IPAs, they showed us a NEW ENGLAND IPA and said they had a Hazy IPA (actually, the opposite of a West Coast IPA! The food menu was less than impressive, and the bartenders' response when asked what they recommended was pretty lackluster. . They also automatically include 18% tip. . I just kept imagining Gordon Ramsay saying "IT'S DRY" with every bite. The burger first of all had no toasted bun, you can buy a pack of these brioche buns at the supermarket for like $6. It's not asking too much to just throw it on a griddle for 1 minute. The meat- oh god, it's like eating a sand patty. The whole burger tasted like someone had a backyard barbecue last year and just rediscovered that some ingredients were left over. Idk what's so difficult, a burger literally only requires you to grab some ground beef and press it down on a grill. Seriously. The taco is somehow worse. The tortilla was pretty stale, it hadn't been heated at all. Like it just tastes like paper. This isn't Cali but I'm expecting you to at least make a taco that doesn't taste like Lunchables. The meat, again, dry and stringy as you can see in the pic. Pretty inedible. I doused the whole thing in the Tostitos salsa they packed with the taco to try to regain moisture. The roasted peppers weren't even chopped all the way LOL like... come on. This isn't that hard. All in all a complete waste of money, UberEats is a horrible service, I should have just cooked. Can't comment on their drinks. I was ordering food to take back to work. The employees here are very friendly and social. Very down to earth. The overall place was very clean. Tables blocking the dining room to comply with the "Social Distancing" policy put in place by the government for all bars and food places. The bar area has a ton of LED HDTV's with news & sports. Another PLUS while waiting for the take-out food. There is parking out front on the street. Also the general area is not bad. UMB is right down the street. The overall general crowd around the restaurant seems to be middle-class. Mostly families walking their pets. The outside area was also clean. The food was nice & hot. Also very very generous on the amount of nachos & meat too. Overall once the world is back to normal and everything opens. This place is definitely on the list for good food. read more

Good beer selection and atmosphere. But the bartender was deceptive. Ordered two beers at the bar and wanted to pay cash. When she told me 20 bucks didn't cover it, I said I wanted to see the tab. She wouldn't give it to me. I insisted and said I needed to see it before I would pay. After the third time, she finally gave it to me, and I could see why she didn't want me to see it. They added an 18% tip automatically. She didn't want me to know that so that I would tip twice. Check your tab even if you are just buying a beer. read more
