That table with the pencil is the diner, you could sneeze in the bar and hit someone in the diner.
    Steven T.

I never knew this was more than an old school bar with your typical Greek diner on the right as you walk in so I thought I would try the breakfast. The place is half old school bar and half Greek diner and I had it bookmarked for the bar until I saw haw early they opened and wondered why they were open at 6 am so I looked at the menu and there was a breakfast menu so I'm there. The place has there own lot so parking is no problem at all. The place kind of looked like an old school steak house was my first impression so I didn't know what to expect when I walked in. There is a nice reverse E wood bar with the old school brass hand rail that wraps around it. Old school stools with the low back and a foot rest if the built in bar foot rest is too close for you. There is no transition from the bar to the diner, it's like someone drew a line in the room and one side is a bar and the other is a diner where you could film a two sided commercial in one scene. The diner is typical Greek style with the light wood, mirrors and purple pastel booths with music playing. The menu is not exactly the phone book Greek style but there is all the regulars with Mexican options also but I would have the Greek omelette for a change. The greek omelette was kind of the weirder ones because it is breakfast link sausage slices, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and feta cheese with the breakfast sausage out of place when gyro meat is on the menu which would make more sense but what ever. It comes with the generic three for toast and hash browns. The service was spot on at first and I was seated promptly and given a real glass of ice water and a menu, two people in the diner section all ready with there food so service should be pretty quick, nope my Greek omelette took over fifteen minutes to hit the table when I was the only person with an order at the time. My server never came back to see if I needed anything or if all was ok and when I was done a good 7 minutes passed before my check was dropped off so I sat there being patient wondering if she would ever return after dropping off my food. When the Greek omelette hit the table it actually smelled really good and looked pretty good with a crumble of feta poking out in the corner. The omelette was pretty tasty but gyro meat would have made for a better offering than breakfast sausage links that were skimpy and sliced razor thin, I think the fork was thicker and there was probably not one links worth of meat in the omelette, see my pictures. The omelette eggs were fluffy and moist, not one of those omelettes with the firm/dense eggs which I liked because it went well with the soft feta and the crunch of the veggies. The toast and hash browns were pretty average and I would have liked a more exotic toast offering like sourdough or something but Texas toast is a $1.95 up charge on the menu which seemed ridiculous when it's 25% of the whole breakfast that I ordered just for better toast, it was not offered as a standard toast option for my breakfast but it's in the extras section. Overall it's a solid average breakfast place with a menu that is a little quirky compared to most breakfast places and it hit the spot and worked but the skimpy razor thin sausage crap did drag the stars down.

Decent food at a decent price. Kind of a blue hair place but it is expected. I've been here many times over the years.... good fish fry.

The cold station had a great variety of hummus and dips served with pita bread--my son loved it so much he ate thirteen pieces of pita! I'm usually not a big fan of raw oysters, but they looked so fresh that I decided to try them... and I couldn't stop eating them. They also had traditional Easter red eggs and egg salad, which was a nice touch. The hot food selection was very impressive as well, including freshly carved prime rib and ham, roasted lamb leg, and sausages. There were also breakfast favorites like French toast and scrambled eggs. Desserts were excellent too--cakes, fresh fruits, and yogurt rounded out the meal perfectly. The setting is just as lovely--the restaurant has an outdoor patio that would be especially enjoyable in the summer, with a great view of the city skyline. It's also a perfect spot for photos. On top of all that, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a perfect dining experience and a memorable Easter celebration.

We also ordered chicken souvlaki- a little chewy but seasoned nicely. Portion sizes were excellent.

The café has plenty of tables and a little bar area, and lots of Greek décor and videos to transport you to Greece. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. We ordered the Keftedes for an appetizer, they were so delicious! Well seasoned and the perfect crispy shell with soft pita bread. We also ordered the Zeus and the Lemon Baked Salmon. The Zeus was well seasoned and included lamb, pork, and beef in a pita. The Lemon Baked Salmon was a little to lemony for my taste but still good, I just wish I had something to cut the lemon flavor a little bit. Overall, the food and drinks were good, and would be back to try more. I did find the prices a little high for some items, including the drinks, some more worth it than others.

The beef cubes were well-seasoned as always and the pita was soft and delicious, as well. Even the fries were good. These were well-seasoned shoe string fries, and they were perfectly fried crisp. I couldn't stop thinking about the Grilled Octopus on the menu, so I ordered it, too, and asked chef to slice it for me. It was tender and served in olive oil with warm and soft pita. Sooooo good! A 6-top reservation came in while I was there. Yes, they accept reservations, which I believe you can book through their website. I've been coming here for years and seen different family members behind the counter or in the kitchen over the years, which adds to the charm of a small, family-owned business, and also shows I've aged. If you haven't been here, or haven't been here in a while, come check them out! a little more upscale in appearance with a casual vibe.

Another amazing hotel restaurant?…read more Listen. I know this is typically kind of an anomaly. I travel a lot and can attest many, many hotel restaurants are pretty ho-hum. But, I do think that Milwaukee may just be the exception here. And, certainly Tre Rivali, located inside the Journeyman Hotel, is absolutely the exception. Chic and modern with a menu that intrigues and cocktails that delight, I have had many wonderful experiences here. Their meat and cheese boards are epic and well priced. I've ordered and quite enjoyed their scallops that come served with truffled parsnip cream, brown butter, hazelnut, brussels sprout leaves. Divine. It's not a hearty dish, though, so if you tend toward a hearty appetite, I'd recommend a starter of some kind. Or, perhaps dessert? Their cocktails are all well made and they have a firm grasp on the classics (they make a mean classic old fashioned and Manhattan). The service is always lovely. Get to it!

I liked that the cream cheese alrady had chives and dill in it. I took a baklava cheesecake slice to go- one of the most creative cheesecakes that I've ever had. Lots of pistachio, honey, and philo made this a unique and delicious treat. Tre Rivali is one of the better hotel-restaurants that I've been to!
