Corned beef hash, poached eggs, hash browns and rye toast
    Laura P.

This is my new favorite diner. Forgot the "dive" moniker - this is a mom and pop small family place with lots of heart and amazing service. I had the corned beef hash special with poached eggs, home made hash browns, rye toast and a bottomless cup of coffee. I have never experienced perfectly poached eggs anywhere. What a treat. Too much food. Loved sitting at the counter surrounded by conversation. Please come here when you are feeling nostalgic for authentic real food and service. Love 2 Brothers!

Two brothers with my cousins. So, let me get into it! The food at two brothers is very diner like from back in the 90's. It was okay defiantly a breakfast kind of meal for sure! The service was amazing! Our waitress checked in often and also waters and coffees filled up. The atmosphere was Nostalgic the pictures and the décor really took me back and it was a very pleasant feeling of home. For a good meal and nostalgic feeling check out two brothers!

Milwaukee has not disappointed in the way of restaurants! This morning my husband ordered the chili cheese omelette on novelty sake, but he says it was "pretty darn good" lol Our waitress was super friendly and on top of our refills . Here's to another Hole in the wall for the win! Beats super fancy hands down

If my dad was still alive he'd love Two Brothers. Imagine a small town Wisconsin diner where it's 90% regulars, but in the middle of a West Allis industrial park. Everything is well worn, but clean and the prices are pretty cheap. Coffee is served in thick ceramic diner mugs and sugar cones in one of those giant containers with the little flap for pouring. We saw Steven T's good reviews and decided a dive breakfast would be a good call before an early AM stop at Menards. It's a small place, and the staff is super friendly. Except a basic, well made American breakfast and stay away from anything that sounds remotely fancy. You can get an Italian sausage pizza omelette, but should you? The mister had a veal cutlet (schnitzel essentially) served with eggs, nice crisp hash browns and toast. He was a big fan and declared that adding gravy to eggs is underrated. I had a breakfast plate that netted me perfect over medium eggs, sausage and 2 wedges of French toast. I think my toast could have been griddled a little longer but all in all, it was really good. If you're looking for a solid, basic breakfast that won't break the bank it's worth checking out.

Great food. Staff is so friendly. Nice little cafe. We love it for breakfast & it's been around for a long time.

Bacon and cheese omelette. Really good.

Small diner that makes a great breakfast. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It had the cheese on the outside of the omelette, which was different but still was good. Great hash browns as well. Nothing fancy here, just good food.

The food here is super cheap!

The host/hostess and servers are all very friendly and accommodating. The interior is so beautifully decorated as well. Parking: street parking available, as well as a parking garage right next door. That garage is a bit expensive, however, so circle the block a few times to find a spot. Sweet Diner is in the Third Ward so it's a nice place to walk as well!

Because she didn't like that I wanted to make small talk with her? Mind you we were the only ones in line. Food was great, and drinks as well! But, one of the waitresses saw my daughter spill a drink and me jump up so it not to spill on my lap. But she just walked away like nothing happened... Strange. Than we waited for the bus lady to come clean the table. I had a smile on my face as she approached me but she just swung her dish tub around me and I was so confused. I was standing there waiting for her, like IN HER WAY! Smiling and all! lol this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The whole vibe here is that of a toxic work environment, starting with the hostesses that have zero and I mean ZERO interest in your experience as a customer of this establishment. Frankly makes me feel sorry for the owners when they have staff like this working for them. I had to walk away from two drinks we ordered on the way out because of the second hostess's attitude with us!!! She was so rude to the lady that prepared our drinks! Than was rude to us? People just don't understand sometimes that they are in the wrong field and we as customers don't have to put up with their attitude wherever it may be coming from. It's a pass for me, sorry Xavier we won't be coming back! (Xavier was our server, he was super nice, he gets the whole customer experience portion which seems to be a foreign concept to the rest of the staff). Go elsewhere and avoid all the evident internal drama from staff directed at their customers from Sweet Diner!

The spam omelette was delicious and paired well with the Johnny cakes. The Johnny cakes are massive and we ended up both taking leftovers home of that. The orange blossom syrup was really good with it. Our server was attentive and stayed on top of water refills which was appreciated as it was a warm day to be eating outside. Our server was fun to chat with and definitely made the experience a bit more interesting. I stopped in for brunch on a Wednesday around 11am and snagged the last open table. Ordered the Steak & Eggs and was impressed by the value; healthy portion, reasonable price. Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the burgers. Unfortunately there isn't a children's menu, which was a bummer. Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
