A Milwaukee area standard that did not disappoint. Simple food with only a 2 page menu with basic diner meal choices and breakfast items of course. They always seem to have well-priced specials too. We ordered a breakfast combo of eggs, sausage, hash browns, and raisin toast ($8), and a double cheeseburger platter (came with fries and a drink) for $8. All items were tasty yet average. Hashed browns could be crisper, burger could have more flavor. Fries were of the McDonald's variety. Service was very friendly so therefore, the bump up to 4 stars. Early this morning around 2a, my husband arrived in hopes to get food. He saw they were open 24 hours and upon walking up to the door, the lights were cut off and a staff member mouthed to him they were closed. He was confused because there were other patrons inside. Went into order take out and was greeted by friendly staff members when I entered. There was a decent crowd and we were all greeted by a friendly staff. Ordering was easy and got my food pretty quick as well. It's your typical diner fare: burgers, soup, breakfast. But it's still darn good diner fare. Rent-a-Food. Thank Christ there was a rest stop on the way to Madison. The food was good, however I had noticed one of the servers counting a big stack of bills then turning around and grabbing plates of food to serve. Also the guy cooking/prepping the food had just regular street clothes, no hat or apron or anything. I saw him sitting on a counter on his phone when he didn't have any orders. Basic sit down counter service. Placed order, wait for food. The waitress was nice, smiled and looked at us once. She served the drinks; water and coffee. Food was slower than expected. Food quality and service were standard. Pretty much a same thing here. Our server took the check, credit card and cashed us out. She was very helpful. The highligt of the visit. I grew up in Milwaukee and had a GW just down the street so I am well acquainted with the Super George Burger, Chili, Chicken Soup and my personal favorite...the Patty Melt on Rye. This place is a Milwaukee tradition and institution. Its a throw back to diners of old, reasonably priced with small booths and single counter seating. The burgers are great and the breakfast food is a must. They are open 24hrs a day and are famous for their "prediction" that this year the Milwaukee Brewers will win 12 games in a row it last happened in 1987 and GW gave away a free burger to anyone who would stand in line to get it. From the fact that they are open 24/7 ('cause hunger never sleeps'), the affordable prices, the 24 hour breakfast menu, to there many, many locations in Wisconsin! So, I normally go for the Double Webb... 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pancakes. But most recently I went with the All-American Breakfast - 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. I really forgot how great their hashbrowns are! I could eat a plate of just that! Aside from their breakfast, I like that they are local, they support our Brewers! Predicting that they will win 12 straight games and the 6 burgers for $5 if the Brewers score 5 times (win or lose). read more

This is a block from a VW-Mazda dealer where I was having service done so I thought I'd grab a quick breakfast. I'd eaten at other GW locations in the Milwaukee area about a decade ago and they were decent places to grab a quick pretty cheap meal. I thought the prices of some items were high this visit. I'm not an egg eater and my typical breakfast out is pancakes and hash browns - nearly always something you have to order separately. Two pancakes here were $6.75 - a bit higher than normal for this class of place but not bad. The hash browns however were $4.50 - that's higher than the typical $2.50-$3.00. Lunch and dinner prices were reasonable. Service was good and the place was clean. I won't stop for breakfast again but if it's the nearest place again and I'm walking I'll give lunch a shot. read more

Okay, this isn't great food. George Webb isn't even a good diner. However, when you are hungry at 1:00 in the morning after a Wisconsin night drinking, there is nothing better. In my youth, Webb's cheeseburgers were my Saturday night staple. I haven't been there in years until last night. But I must admit, those two cheeseburgers and fries hit the spot! George Webb's has always been our go-to for late night or early morning dining for the last almost 14 years. We always dined with a close family friend and it was like a "tradition" not once in all those years has the quality changed and the food is just as delicious as the first time enjoying it! We ordered take out from here and while we sat in the car watching our food being made we noticed the two service industry people were not wearing masks. The woman was pregnant and not wearing a mask at all and the guy had a mask on but had his nose exposed. They obviously don't care about their patrons health. Never going there again! read more

God awful service not only did I wait 10 minutes to get served but in order to get a refill on soda I had to stand at the counter for another 10!!!! It wasn't that busy if I could leave less than 1 star I would. 1 star is being too nice. Wheatcakes! Seriously, my wife and I had never heard of them before, so being curious she ordered some for us to try. Those had to be the best pancakes I've ever had. The rest of the breakfast food was good also, but the wheatcakes were the star of the show. This was the first time either of us had been to a George Webb, and really didn't know what to expect. Last night I went to the George Web off of Janacek Rd and Bluemound rd. Irene took my order and was unbelievably disgusting and disrespectful. My steak was barely cooked after asking for it to be cooked almost to medium. When I told her about it she was very defensive and rude, telling me I was wrong. She put it back on the grill, while she was all I could hear was her complaining loudly to everyone and right in front of me tell me she doesn't appreciate me and I don't know how to order. She was extremely rude and when I explained respectfully that I did not feel I should pay she threatened to call the police on me and forced me to pay for the steak sandwich I did not eat and my onion rings. I have travelled all around the world and I have NEVER had such taboo service at any restaurant let alone business. I have photos of Irene and I would like people to know and I would like the store to make this right by providing a complimentary meal and an apology and my refund and $3 tip. I'm not a huge fan of George Webb food, but this particular restaurant in Brookfield is worthy of my time to review it and 4 stars to boot for one very important reason: customer service. From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed by the counter-worker's friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. I wish I would have caught this gentleman's name because he really is something special. Not only was he attentive to my needs while I waited for a car stereo install at the nearby Best Buy, but he also was extremely compassionate to an elderly lady who said that she wanted to eat out because she was too depressed to be home alone. He remembered that her husband had passed away a few years ago and gently comforted her while serving her order. It was a very touching scene and left me with little doubt about why this location has regulars. Oh, and the food wasn't too bad on this visit either. read more

The landscaping outside is beautiful, the inside is clean and nice and there is a higher class of clientele than you will find at any other George Webb. The food is fresh and excellent, the staff is courteous and prompt, and they have plenty of great stuff on the menu. read more
