Today's brunch adventure took us here. The place is very popular and there can be a bit of a wait. The food was Devine. My waffle has bits of apples stuffed inside and they gave me apple flavored syrup to top it with. The bacon is thick and crispy just like how I like it and my loaded potatoes were so filling I couldn't finish them all. The highlight was the apple pancake and it was humongous! That feed your whole table LOL. It as delicious it tasted like a Dutch apple pie. The service is fast and friendly. We didn't have to wait too long once we were situated. The Original Pancake never disappoints. We arrived before 8am on this particular Saturday so we didn't have to wait for a table. If we have waited another hour, the wait would have been crazy. After we were seated, our server came quickly and brought us our drinks. The coffee is always delicious. I ordered the breakfast burrito. The chorizo packed some nice heat, which I really appreciated. The avocado spread offset the spicy chorizo perfectly, while the potatoes added the crunchy component the plate needed. It had been a few years since I had been here but I'm happy to see it's as reliable as ever. read more

I had been a customer of The Original Pancake House locations across the country for decades, but likely not again. While the eggs were perfect and the thick bacon was tasty, those are the only accolades I can provide. The bacon appeared to have been cooked earlier and was served warm, not hot. I asked for the potatoes to be crispy; instead, they were merely very well done, oily, not crispy, and looked as though they had been sitting on the griddle for quite some time before being served. The orange juice was bottled and not worth the price. The coffee was warm, not hot, and the toast was so cold that the whipped butter would not even melt. The add-on biscuit gravy was tasty, but while it had been warmed, the pork pieces in it were cold. All fo $37. read more

The Original Pancake House is one of my favorite go to breakfast places. I really appreciate that they utilize fresh ingredients such as fresh squeezed Oj and pancakes from scratch. They have such a cozy atmosphere and each time I've dined in, staff has been kind, attentive and efficient- especially on weekends when they get busy! If going on a weekend, i'd recommend getting there a tad earlier as wait times can get long, just fyi. My menu favorites include coffee, oj, bacon, and the fruit pancakes which are served with fresh whipped cream nanas, strawberries, and strawberry syrup. This spot is one of my parents' favorites and they have unbeatable crepes. I've seen more GF options on the menu which is cool, but I'd love to see more dairy free options or dairy alternatives on the menu in the future. So we went to the original pancake house last weekend in Cincinnati & definitely had to try it again this weekend. Let me just say, it was delicious & definitely made me search to see if they have some in my area too! (Which they do! have 3 locations in Indy! Nice!) Josh was the best server, he was hilarious & kept everything full & fresh! The place has a lot of booths, but does have some tables as well, we requested a table cause booths just aren't as comfortable for us & we waited a few minutes, but it was worth the wait! First visit with a party of five to this restaurant in 2026. Sunday morning for brunch, just a short wait of 15 minutes in a busy establishment. Service was quick, friendly and accommodating. We sat in a booth near the front door but didn't notice any drafts or crowding from waiting customers. We ordered a variety of dishes to include silver dollar pancakes, Dutch baby, Swedish pancakes, ham and cheese omelette, eggs with biscuits and gravy, stuffed crepes. Sides included orange juice, buttermilk pancakes and a fountain drink. All servings were served on china, with stainless silverware and cloth napkins. All servings came quickly, were hot and large, worth the price. Everyone enjoyed their food with only two comments for improvement, one being the biscuits were too thick for the amount of gravy served and the Dutch baby was a bit undercooked. Aluminum containers were provided for leftovers, which warmed up nicely. There are several pancake restaurants in the area, this one scores as one of the best. I've always been a big fan of OHOP, but this is one of my favorites and we always go to it whenever we visit Milwaukee. Love the old house vibe in the outside and inside and the service is always friendly and fast. Food is great and huge portions which makes up for the bill being more than I'm used to for breakfast. Food was okay, service was not. Mrs. Brenda had rude facial expressions, was only given one glass of water. Went the last 20 mins or so without anything to drink, pretty much was abandoned. At the same time had numerous tables surrounding us, it was definitely a stereotypical situation. She felt as if she wouldn't get tipped bc of who was all at our table(definitely a race thing) & we all work night shift so we weren't dressed up to the standard I guess , but in all reality she would've gotten a great tip if service would've been up to par! Recommended, so a friend and I dropped in for breakfast July 25. Wasn't all we'd heard it would be. She ordered eggs over medium which looked like my over easy. Waitress ordered over medium again; still just as runny. So friend only had pancakes which she said weren't all that good. Waitress didn't charge for her meal. We were finished but just chatting when we were asked by our waitress to leave to free up her table! Have NEVER been asked to leave after being in a restaurant for an hour. We were not rude! Excellent experience. Our group of nine ordered a variety of sweet and savory including: pancakes, breakfast burritos, crepes, deluxe potatoes, and eggs. Eggs were prepared over easy as ordered, the bacon was perfectly cooked, and serving sizes were generous. The only negative was that the regular potatoes were bland and not crispy. The staff was patient and helpful as we inquired regarding food allergies. We were seated quickly and did not have to wait long to place or receive our orders. I've been a couple times with different people. The service was great and friendly, and the restaurant has a really cozy house/diner atmosphere. We went during a busy time, and there were plenty of benches and areas for the kids to play outside while we waited for about half an hour. The menu has some fun types of pancakes and toppings and all the breakfast classics. All the food was delicious, and it was fun to pick out some choices you don't always get at brunch places! Day off breakfast with the hubby. We used live in Madison and went to an Original Pancake house long ago. I recall the apple pancake was really good. We arrived shortly after 9:00 and was seated right away. Both the hostess and waitress were friendly. The menu wasn't too exciting. I ordered the Famous Bacon and Eggs when pancakes with over easy eggs. My husband ordered the Sausage and Cheese omelet. The food was your normal breakfast fare. The bacon and pancakes were good. My eggs were overcooked so the waitress was kind enough to have it remade. The omelet was a bit dry but nothing a sprinkle of hot sauce couldn't help. Overall it was fine and enjoyable breakfast. This place is always packed and they have exceptional service. Omelettes are not traditional but oven baked so they have more of a frittata texture and browning on the outside. Bacon is thick and I love that they ask how you would like it: medium or crisp. The potatoes you can get loaded with cheese and other toppings or regular with the house seasoning. The seasoning is delicious but on this visit was a little too heavily applied for taste. There is a large menu with something for everyone here. Always a good stop. read more

This location seems to be in a converted house so it feels pretty homey and the food tastes so much better than I'd expect from something like IHOP. To be fair it's pricey comparatively but if you're looking for pancakes they've got it all! Pancakes, Crepes, Swedish Pancakes, Potato Pancakes, Etc. Wild portion sizes as well. They definitely seem to shine at the sweet and carb heavy breakfast but my eggs and potatoes were pretty good as well. They seem to use peanut oil just about everywhere and our waitress helped my wife narrow down an option she could have with her allergy, so that's a win for service. Bottom line -- I wouldn't hesitate to go back or try another location down the road. read more

I've eaten at several of these in several states, and the consistency is good. The Brookfield, WI, location is near my home, and I have been going there with my family for 20 years or so. There is usually a short wait, and everyone is very busy, but the service is still very good, and I have never had a problem with cold food or the wrong items. We have tried nearly every item on the menu, and all are very good. I love the Blueberry pancakes (much better than most places), my wife loves the omelets, and my children love anything that comes with their thick bacon. The servings are big. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and tastes great, but it is expensive. Overall, the prices are reasonable, and the value is very good - so is the food. read more

I am the Life Enrichment Director for a senior home and brought a pretty large group to the Pancake House recently. Our hot and wonderful food was brought out within 20 minutes of being there, and Eric, gave us above and beyond service! He even brought our leftovers that I forgot to our facility! When you're a bit hungover after a crazy Summerfest concert, getting breakfast food at noon is definitely the move. I'm not a huge breakfast person, but this place is perfect because they are open until after lunch! So you don't have to rush out of the house on a lazy day to get some delicious breakfast food. We visited on a Saturday, so it was absolutely packed. They told us it was a 30 minute wait for a table, but I don't think we even waited that long which was great. The staff was friendly and fast even though they were busy. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes because I had to try the classic dish at OPH, and my boyfriend got the corned beef hash and bacon pancakes. Of course I snuck a bite of his food, and both were out of this world tasty. A bit heavy on the meat for my taste so I would have never ordered that as my meal, but it was extremely good. My pancakes were absolutely perfect and really hit the spot on that hungover Saturday. They were fluffy, buttery, and just writing this review is making me craze them. I do have to say that for pancakes they were pretty expensive, but it made sense when I saw them because they give you six gigantic pancakes!! Everything is worth the fairly high price because they serve you large portions that you can definitely eat the leftovers as a second meal later.
