Forgot to review this place when I came over the holidays but this is definitely a MUST-TRY! S/O to Cara E. for the recommendation :)
***LOCATION***
There was a rather large parking lot. It is not quite downtown, which is nice, so you don't have to struggle to find street parking. But, when we came, it was very busy! We found a spot, but there seemed to be a lot of DIY spots lol. We kind of just pulled up by a tree to where we weren't blocking anyone. The ground is gravel and grass, so I don't think there were any lines. It was dark and I didn't inspect, but seems like you just park where you can.
***EXPERIENCE***
AMAZING experience! So I don't eat seafood, but my boyfriend wanted oysters and Cara E. had sent over some great recs so we decided to give this place a try! I want to say the reason that we ended up at the bar was because there was a wait for a table, so we opted to eat at the bar, which ended up working out perfectly! They have happy hour not only for drinks, but for appetizers too!! The deal is good Mon-Fri. We drove down Friday morning of New Year's weekend so it was perfect timing! They also had live music which was cool for the vibe but tbh I couldn't wait for the guy singing to stop. Was def not the best haha but a very cool indoor/outdoor patio atmosphere!
***STAFF***
The staff is very friendly and got our drinks and food out quickly. We had gotten a pimento cheese dip and it came with little baguette slices. We had way too much cheese and there was so much left well after the bread was gone. The server was taking away our other dishes that were empty and asked if we wanted some extra bread to finish the cheese. I thought that was really nice! It wasn't like getting chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant, the bread was clearly toasted and served with the cheese, but wasn't necessarily re-fillable, so that was very nice to offer especially considering we were already getting everything half off!!
***PRICE***
The Happy Hour deal is what makes this such an amazing spot! We ended up ordering 3 appetizers and just splitting those with a few beers. I don't eat seafood, so most of my options were appetizers anyways and with such a great deal, we wanted to try several things! I forgot to take a picture of the appetizers on the menu, but re-checking the prices on the Yelp photos, I can see the prices went pretty drastically up from 2021 - 2022, so make sure you are looking at the correct menu photo, but this is what we ended up getting:
Hushpuppies: 9.99 - 5$ for Happy Hour
Pimento Cheese Dip: 13.99 - 7$ for Happy Hour
Deviled Bacon Oysters: 15.99 - 8$ for Happy Hour
Local draft: 7.99 - X 2 each at 4$ for Happy Hour (total 16$)
Total for dinner and drinks for two: 36$ + tip
***FOOD/DRINKS***
Hushpuppies: I loved them! I always eat them with ketchup, but the jam they put on the side was actually good!
Pimento Cheese Dip: Also very good! Just pretty heavy, I couldn't eat tooo much, but they brought out extra bread with it so that was nice!
Deviled Bacon Oysters: Just my bf had these but he said they were good. He thought it was going to be more of an oyster but it was more of an egg with oyster on top or mixed in, I am not really sure, but it wasn't in an oyster shell.
Local draft: Very good! But 6.2% so slightly stronger than the average 4.2% beers they also have on draft!
***BATHROOMS***
Clean 10/10! I think they had just cleaned when I went though, because I slipped on the floor coming out lol it was quite a show for everyone.
***CONCLUSION***
Definitely a great local spot! Highly recommend sitting at the bar for drinks and at least an appetizer during the week! It is a great deal and great spot to hang out with friends! read more
