Their steamed clams in tomato bacon broth are to die for & feel free to enjoy the broth w their warm fresh loaf of bread. Mahi-mahi special was terrific but the Seafood Fra Diavlo is totally amazing. The 1970s called and want their menu back. I ordered the chicken scarpariello which in no way resembled what that dishes supposed to be. I've partner ordered a seafood pasta which was too spicy to even eat. When we let the management know we were unhappy with our dishes their owner told me there's no point in educating college kids working for the summer because they'll just be leaving soon anyway. Third time and still charmed The wait staff are fun kind and service was wonderful. Went for lunch this visit pull up to see the waiter practically lifting an elderly disabled lady from car to wheelchair . a million gold stars to that waiter. His act of kindness melted my heart. Dining in or outside Mussels in wine & Garlic are addicting , I admittedly ordered them twice on back to back visits. The Lobster Roll ...WOW full and overflowing in MayoTarragon mix so beautiful you'd think I knew the chef. Three ladies next to us knew the same secret , all three ordered Lobster rolls. At the last Dinner Visit my almost 20 yr old picked Shrimp Luciano with risotto & VEG !, light but Distinct lemon-Garlic flavor huge Shrimp so tender they melt in your mouth this chef has a deep relationship with Seafood ! Stunning Dish !!!! Her boyfriend order calamari appetizer , could have been a bigger portion , the taste & crispy light texture.. did not miss the mark I couldn't help but liberate a few....linguini in white clam sauce met its match he devoured Loving up every flavorful bite. Drove around looking for the "perfect meal" to satisfy our lazy afternoon hunger. The Boat House did not disappoint. They had local brews on tap (Captain Lawrence), not to mention the view of the Hudson and the delicious food. I definitely recommend the stuffed Boat House burger: sliced and filled with bacon topped with Monterrey Jack and frizzled onions. A++. Music was perfect match for the setting with acoustic tunes from Jason Mraz, Tracy Chapman and the likes. The only thing that didn't fit in with the nautical theme was the purple painted walls. Other than that I will be back for sure, especially in the summer when I can sit out side. read more

Great View, Great Food, Because it's located right next to the water, it's a great place for late spring/summer lunches. Went here with my girlfriends and we enjoyed it. The server was attentive and punctual. There wasn't a lot to choose from on the menu, appetizer-wise but plenty of hearty sandwiches which I always go for. I ordered the portebello sandwich with tomatoes and sauteed onions with a balsamic glaze. Got jipped on the fry portion but that's ok. Good lookin' out kitchen staff :-) I'd go here again to try a different sandwich. Drinks? There's plenty of dessertini's which i'm curious about and a pretty good selection of wine and brews. read more

This restaurant used to be good, but more recently has lost its way. We were there the other night and sent 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered back. The scallop "special" was rubbery and gritty. And the crab cakes that I ordered were clearly frozen. And the $10 special salad was basically a Dole kit with sad looking greens and a hard boiled egg. When the manager came over to talk to us, instead of apologizing, she said that we weren't familiar enough with seafood. Um...not exactly! As for the crab cakes, if you want better frozen ones, try Trader Joe's. They're cheaper too! The manager said she would take 30% off the bill, but really should have taken both off the bill. The third person ordered a burger, which was fine, but at $17, wasn't particularly special. read more

Love this neighborhood gem. Incredibly pleasant service and well prepared casual seafood (and American staple) dishes. Great spot for a sundowner or three if you sit outside. Came.here for a nice lunch not from the area.. First I have to the staff was very nice BUT The food? Nothing great I gave 3 star's to be nice How can you make a bad fish taco?? The fish was frozen and then its diced into a taco with beans and idk.. Nice little place by the water. Our server was very nice and the food was good! We got a lobster roll, mussels and stuffed mushrooms. Stuffed mushrooms and lobster roll were cooked to perfection! My fiancé's Moscow mule was mixed weird and watered down. My fiancée liked the mussels, I thought they were good but not amazing. Maybe a little buttery of a clam sauce. I've been a frequent Yelp user for years, but this is the second review I've I've ever written, so that should tell you something right there... My husband and I have lived in the HRV for a couple of years, and have been looking for a restaurant/bar that could be our "go-to"... to no avail, until we found The Boathouse today. It's casual, yet sophisticated and without the pressure of appearances. We chatted with the bartender and owner who were genuinely friendly and also professional. We ordered two dishes (fried calamari and tuna poke), and they came out way faster than expected.... definitely fresh and also very tasty. And this is in the middle of winter, I can't imagine how great it will be during the summer with that river view!! Long story short, we finally found our "Cheers", where we can just relax, yet have good drinks, food, and service at the same time. read more

The Boathouse is a little hard to find, but follow your GPS, it's worth it. Definitely get the clam chowder, it's spot on. My buddy and I opted to split a cheeseburger with avocado, and a black and white salad, which is a tuna steak covered in black and white sesame over salad. This is a good spot for a long lunch. Our server Michelle M, was sweet, attentive and helpful, and she made us feel very welcome. There is aa nice view of the harbor and river, and a bar area, separate from the dining room. This is a place with good seafood, but mediocre service. I got the lobster roll, and it was amazing. But when we asked for a loaf of bread (comes with meal), we never got it until another waitress gave it to us 5-10 minutes later. I felt like we waited too long for our food and it cost too much. But I will recommend it to my friends. A must go if you are patient, and like seafood. read more

Like someone else said, definitely not fine dining but the food is good. The bar area got really loud the times I've eaten here so we go as early as we can. Everyone I know is freaked out by the location...like it would be a good place to dump a body and the outdoor dining is not picturesque at all so don't expect a bunch of atmosphere when you go there and sit outside. I think that if they rearranged something or put an upstairs deck on, it could be amazing. The way it is now is not amazing. The photos are a bit deceiving. Came here for a relaxing Sunday lunch. The weather was nice and my wife and in-laws decided to take a drive up the hudson and landed here. A little bit confusing when you walk in, no room to stand while you wait for your table. The staff was pleasant and accommodating however. When we sat down, our server offered us cocktails and was also very nice. The food was where they lost me. The place does seem a bit upscale, so I wasn't expecting anything over the top, but the food did not match the ambiance they seemed to be trying to create. I ordered a $16 pasta with chicken and peppers. What was served to me was the same quality as a lunch special in a local deli. It was just chicken tenders and penne pasta. Not impressed. read more

Came here with a group with the intention to sit on the outside deck. The weather failed to cooperate. Inside, the restaurant had a nice "boathouse" atmosphere. The menu consists of wraps, fresh fish of the day, steaks and other interesting items. I had the seafood pot pie and really enjoyed it. The mussels were good as was the shrimp wrap and fried sea scallops Cranberry bread pudding was to die for Ryan our server was great, fast and attentive. The bartender was sweet and efficient. This was one of the worst fish tacos I have ever had in my life. The fish was oddly flaked and dry-- not one chunk of fish as you might expect in a fish taco. The tortilla was dry. The corn salsa had no flavor. It was truly gross. read more

Nice place to eat with resonable prices, great food, drinks and service. Right on the Hudson River and gorgeous views. This place is really tiny and out of the way. You can almost miss it driving past. Parking is a little strange, as there is a small pier to park on in back of the restaurant that gets in the way of the view. Then there is some parking in the front on the street and some beneath the nearby underpass. Nonetheless, I never really had any difficulty with parking here and it sure wasn't enough to keep me from coming back! read more
