We are visiting Moab and happened upon Blu Pig for dinner tonight. Baby back ribs tender, succulent and flavorful. Philly cheesesteak sandwich was delicious. Meat sliced very thin and had nice smoky flavor. Sautéed peppers and onions added to already great sandwich. Our waiter Paul was attentive and friendly. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

I read the reviews before going. They were mixed. We ordered brisket and burnt tips. The tips were good, the brisket was over cooked and very dry. When I got home I read the reviews again and the owners comments. Issues at this restaurant are not new and worse yet not fixed. Lousy service, good food. Out of the beer I ordered, asked 3 times for spoons for beans, told cornbread was in oven and 10 minutes later when it arrives its warm not hot from oven. This is a very good steakhouse. At first we decided that it is a very noisy bar here and we didn't want to go here. But when our regular restaurant will have us waiting for 45 minutes, we decided to go here. It did not turn out noisy. In fact, they have two rooms. One is a noisy bar and the other is a quiet little room with some jazz music coming from the other room. The food was great, and I ordered a pork rib rack. It tasted great! My family all ordered steaks and it only cost us 120 dollars with tax and tip! And also they gave us a bowl of free fries (makeup for a baked beans that never turned up) to enjoy. This is a very good restaurant and I really recommend it if you are hungry! My tummy is so full from eating that pork rack. Great food! Really appreciate it! ;) read more

Stopped through on our way to Arizona. Turned out to be a great, quick lunch. Do yourself a favor and order sweet potato fries with the Ancho Mayo. Decided to eat here after a day at Arches. We were disappointed in the brisket as it was very dry. Seemed to us that it was left over from the weekend and had been reheated in a microwave. Cornbread was even worse. Completely dry and crumbled in your hands. Might be good on Saturday but so so on a Tuesday. read more

The restaurant was highly recommended by the hotel we were staying at so decided to take a chance. "Bad call Ripley!" First, our waitress ignored my family of four while she fawned over a large group at the table next to us. We had to constantly flag her down to get drinks, place our orders, etc. Towards the end of our meal she literally ripped the plates out from under us. Sorry wasn't finished eating yet... My experience at the Blue Pig was unsatisfactory to say the least. First off the prices were extremely expensive for what you get. I understand this is a vacation town but if you're gonna charge high prices the food and service need to match. Being the covid restrictions there werent many people in the resturant. It still took a good 5 mins before we were waited on. By this time I was ready to order everything so we ordered our drinks and our food. I ordered the lunch burger for over $10 after taxes. I got a side salad with it. The salad was a pile of spring leaves with a few tiny toppings. The burger came out with just cheese, a bun and pickle spear. Where's the garden? And the burger wasnt even par with taste. Also the food was brought out before the drinks. Not worth the high dollar that the place charges. Ive also had their BBQ and its ehh as well. Only thing I enjoyed the flavor of was a very small side of mac n cheese for almost $6. Literally 5 bites. I will not be returning to this place of buisness. read more

The restaurant has a great ambiance and the staff is friendly. Our food came out fast considering how busy it was. The pork brisket was a little bland but tasted pretty good with the sauce. The Cajun Sausage was really good except they cut the skin and all the juices cooked out and they were really dry. read more

Well, the service is horrible and the food isn't warm.. Our server Damien rushed us and never asked if we wanted another beer or if we needed anything. Right after giving us our meal, he asked if we wanted dessert. With a good amount of food still on our plates, it should seem obvious that we weren't ready to look at a dessert menu or that we even enjoyed the meal. On top of that, a different person brought our food & didn't even know what the dishes were called because he was new & our sides were mixed up on each other's plates. Our server, Damien, spoke to a table just behind us with a sunny attitude & gave them A+ service while we sat there annoyed & still hungry. Also my cup was dirty and gross with a white grime stuck in the bottom of it. The one star is for the cool ceramic pig & the rad music coming from the bar which is probably where we should have sat in the first place. Or just not have entered the building at all. In addition to the poor service & mediocre food, the waiter decided that our $34 in cash for the check was his tip & charged my girlfriend's card for the entire bill & then asked afterwards if we wanted to apply the money before the card to the check. Save yourself the trouble and go more into downtown where there are plenty of other places to eat! We recommend Peace Tree on Main Street!! They have great food and a kick-ass staff!!! I wouldn't go out out of my way for this place, but it was next to our hotel and pretty reasonably priced. Food was good, my turkey sandwich was a little dry, but the fries were delicious. We wanted to avoid the live music, so we ate on the patio. It seemed a little cheap out there and could have used a few misters to keep it cooler, but it was quieter and private. I would probably go back if I was nearby. read more

We came here for a late lunch. A little surprised that the only 'BBQ' lunch sandwich was pulled pork, like no chicken or turkey sandwich, but it's OK. My husband got the pulled pork and it was really a nice large sandwich and came with a side so he got fries. I wasn't that hungry... just got the gumbo. I'm not from Louisiana but have had good and bad gumbo and this was good! They have a few beers on tap (I got the IPA) and a huge selection of bottled beers. All in all it was really good! The food was great we went here 2 times while in town.. The first time we sat in the bar section to hear the live blues music which was great but had slow service from our waitress.. The other time we had great service from our waitress in the dinning room section so maybe it just depends on who you get for wait staff.. If you enjoy your server acting bizarre, yelling at guests that request a side of dressing, and making you feel unwelcome than you will love your time at the Blue Pig. If service matters to you at all I suggest dining somewhere else. They do offer live music most nights of the week, which is what drew us in, however the one man band that was playing that evening was AWFUL. We had high hopes for this place,especially since we were starving. The service was poor and slow. The sandwich we ordered was soggy from them placing it on top of juice from one of the side dishes ordered. My chicken dish was tough and not very hot when I received it. Overall, the food wasnt very good. The restaurant was very cold and the server mentioned the heat was out again. Of all the local non-chain big box restaurants this one has been the most disappointing. We wont return or recommend. read more

I cannot speak to the quality of food. As for the service, it was nonexistent. I made an executive decision to leave and find another place to spend our money. Nice looking place but the BBQ pork was like what you get out of a can, meaning hardly worth the comment let alone the price. The smoked turkey was dry and tasteless, kinda "old". When I mentioned the inedible turkey they gave me a free piece of pecan pie which turned out to be burnt and grainy, again not really edible. Was just passing through Moab and needed a place to eat. The Blue Pig was a well suggested place that is open on Sundays. Stopped in and ordered the Big N' Nasty as an "appetizer" then ordered the Burnt End plate. The Big N' Nasty was big enough to fill up both me and my wife before we even had a chance to eat the main course. Had to pick at the burnt ends but it was delicious. The sides, fired okra and fries were very delicious. The only thing that made this place a four instead of a five, was for being a southern comfort bbq place the choices of bbq sauces were lacking. The traditional was just a shot of plain bbq sauce, the sweet and tangy was a little too sweet and the mustard vinegar was too vinegary. Overall this is a great place to swing by and enjoy some big plates of southern comfort bbq. Prices may seem high but for the amount you get they are just right. read more

Great food and great service. We came on a busy night and they were a bit shorthanded. They let us know right away that it would be a few minutes before they'd get to us, and throughout our meal they were very open and honest about how long things would take. The food was awesome. I split two entrees with a friend, and the turkey was delicious. The pulled pork was great as well. BBQ sauces were kind of run-of-the mill, but the sides were super - we had gumbo, sweet potato fries, fried okra, and hash brown casserole, and none of those things was a mistake. read more

I've had multiple better bbq pulled pork for less cost. There are some options for those not into bbq. The service was great but the value for the food just didn't hit the sweet spot. It's worth a try though if you are just visiting. read more
