I hate to leave a review like this because I'm not one to complain. We ate here today and both were let down. I had ordered two meat combo(trip tip/burnt ends with homemade slaw and hush puppies) and she ordered the wings. We also started with battered green beans. I will say the green beans were tasty. Both my burnt ends/try-tip were dry and tough, really lacked the smoked/bbq flavor. She ended up only eating 3 of her wings because there was what looked like hair on the wings. I had seen a review somewhere on here stating the same thing. Service was okay, nothing wrong on that end. We were really hoping to love this place. This restaurant shares a large parking area with the La Quinta Inn & Suites, where we were staying, so it was more than convenient. Since we had our dog with us, we needed outdoor seating, which they could provide, fully covered and with heaters that weren't necessary the night we dined there. They were very dog friendly. A typical barbecue joint menu, along with a long list of craft brews and cocktails. The "top shelf" margarita we each ordered was fine, not super sweet, but with no real distinction. At $14, we expected a drink with more interest. The smoked brisket was dry and not particularly flavorful, though the fries and baked beans that came along with it were good. A cobb salad is typically made with iceberg lettuce; here, it was a sort of spring mix, an odd substitute. Maybe they'd had sourcing problems because of the pandemic? We were pleased with the outdoor patio seating and with the restaurant's dog friendly policy. Just wish the food had been worth writing about. read more

Brought the whole family here for lunch. We had just finished looking at Newspaper Rock, and we were all starving. Decided to go here, because it's hard to go wrong with BBQ. Everyone in the family can usually find something. Such was the case in this instance! Everyone liked what they got, and the waitress who helped us was incredibly professional, and answered all of our questions. Very decent BBQ. Could really taste the smoke in my prime rib. Cooked fairly well, (I ordered rare). Good selection of meats, burgers and the like. Somewhat limited draft beer selection. The food was not good. The atmosphere was weird. The manager is defensive in all poor reviews when in reality the manager is why I gave it such a poor review. I had to send a plate back and she came to the table and proceeded to argue with me when I asked for the bill to be adjusted. It's a weird way to do business. Staying at a nearby hotel, and decided to try this place. What I did not like was that there was no seating for a solo person except in the bar. No problem, really, as when i am traveling alone I have come to expect this. What was kind of disappointing was that it took an hour to get food after I ordered, and two people who ordered after me got theirs before I did. The food was average. There was also a pretty big draft in the bar whenever someone opened and outside door, so most of the customers were wearing their coats to stay warm. The music in the bar was live, and pretty good. Food was a bit expensive for what you get. The main thing is I probably would have spent more with this place by ordering more drinks and dessert, but I did not want to have to wait any more once I saw how long it took to get the main course. I give it three stars because the food was okay, and the staff were friendly, even though they were likely a little short handed or maybe disorganized on their systems for getting food out of the kitchen faster. read more

I certainly was not expecting a bbq place in Moab, UT let alone a place with great quality bbq! We sat in the bar area so we could listen to the blues band that was playing, but still received table service which was great. After a full day of hiking it was nice to unwind with good food and awesome music. The bbq sandwich was great and the sweet tea was awesome. We ordered a hash brown casserole to split but I wasn't impressed; just not the casserole I'm used to I guess so no hard feelings! What I liked: The food. What I didn't like: The hour wait for my food after I ordered. This restaurants food could have earned it a 4-5 star rating had it been matched by great service and a better job of cleaning the BBQ sauce off the menus. My wife had the 8 oz Pulled Pork meal. She loved it and with the included side dishes was more than she could eat. My daughter and I opted for the Pulled Pork sandwiches. Loved them. My daughter enjoyed a sweet potato and I liked Hush Puppies. Keeping hungry folks waiting an hour isn't reasonable. At least warn us so we either leave of order an appetizer. Or, maybe just offer us some bread to keep us entertained while waiting for our meals. Just to be clear, it wasn't the half hour wait for a table, the hostess advised us of that. Cool spot with good ambiance and fairly good service with a friendly staff. As a tourist it's a little more than I usually spend on BBQ. With that being said it pegs the question: is it worth it? I ordered the smoked brisket along with fried okra and sweet potato fries and some cornbread which was more of a corn muffin. The sides by themselves were good and I really have no complaints but what disappointed me was the brisket. I'm very particular about BBQ, brisket especially, and this just let me down in most of the categories that make a good brisket. They relied too heavily on the smoke for flavor which I admit sounds backwards for me to say but, the seasoning on the brisket plays a vital role in adding a better flavor profile and a better bark. The smoke time also was a little long for me. Says 12 hour smoke on the menu, which I believe is too long, desired internal temp could definitely be reached sooner. All that being said, my answer is no it's not worth. But don't let my experience deter you from giving this place a try. It's a really cool place with a great atmosphere and my family enjoyed their food, so the place is a good place to grub after a long day hiking assuming you order the right things. read more

Not sure why the ratings were less than 4 stars but this is a first class BBQ eatery. We were "those" customers walking in 10 minutes before they closed on a Friday night. You'd expect that the service and the quality would be a little less than their best. No so! Everything was delicious. Smoked Prime Rib, Burnt Ends and Smoked Turkey were all outstanding. The Gumbo was incredible and the Peach Cobbler was the perfect finish. After a long day of biking and hiking, this late night meal with excellent service from Jordan was the perfect finish to the day. Thanks, Blu Pig! We will be back. read more

Started with the gumbo which has the right amount of spice and combined with the smoked meat was awesome. I had the six wings with garlic buffalo sause, the smoke flavor was great and my initial comment was "it's like making love in the south!" Some people don't like the smoke flavor, me I love tasting the flavor of the wood, just like you do with a good bourbon. If you're in Moab this should be one of your stops. read more

Edible, and that is quite a compliment in Moab. My wife's burger was good, but after I drank most of the stout beer I ordered to go with my brisket, I was informed they were out, and offered tri tip as a substitute. So, after finishing the first beer and getting half way through a second, and with my wife being well into her burger, I was informed that all the tri tip had been sold. I ordered the half chicken, which is something I never order in a barbecue place. So, while my wife finished her burger I waited fir my chicken. When it showed up I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They comped a piece of pecan pie ala mode to "soften the blow."
