The seasonal drinks are another excuse to keep coming back. They rotate frequently and there's always something by new each time my wife and I stop by so Gailey's never gets redundant despite how old and historic it is. The variety of Bloody Mary's is fantastic and the whiskey adaptations never disappoint. The food is also consistently great! Personally, the skillets or biscuits and gravy are my favorite but there is no bad choice on this menu. Local staple or if you're visiting from out of town, it's absolutely worth a visit over the invading chain restaurants, Gailey's is your breakfast go-to.

My husband and I have been to about 4 Big Biscuits now, and we have loved everyone until we walked into this one... we walked in with 2 people and were told a 30-minute wait, which is to be expected on a Sunday at 11 am. We were just enjoying our trip to Springfield, and we're excited to find one in the Springfield area. As we were sitting and talking, we noticed that groups of 6;4;3 were being seated immediately. We were confused a bit because there were just 2 of us. We were waiting outside right next to a 2-person table that was cleared off outside. so my husband goes, "I'll go tell the host that we don't mind sitting outside. Maybe that's what the issue was." So he goes in to tell the host, and the host responds with "there are 4 people still in front of you. " we say okay and sit back down to wait patiently. As we are finally called 40 minutes later, we are sitting at the exact table we had been staring at empty for 40 minutes waiting for a table.. this was extremely irritating. We thought well let's just be glad we are sat and look at the menu. We picked out what we wanted and continued our conversation, waiting on the waitress that never came. We watched as she greeted a table of 4 and a table of 6 and took their drinks, then came back and took their orders, then turned around and walked back inside, making us feel ignored. We sat for a good 20 minutes with not a single acknowledgment. We ended up leaving and can't say we will be back. read more

Me and my husband went there Friday morning and the service was terrible. We sat at the table and waited about 10 minutes but still, no one came around and asked us what we wanted to drink. After waiting about a couple more minutes my husband flagged somebody and asked her if we could get some service. She acts like she does not know what is going on. Finally, we ordered the food but the server never came around and asked us how we were doing. So I asked her if I could talk to the manager and she said the manager was busy. Really good, varied breakfast menu and reasonably priced. Definitely worth making a stop there. The "Full Biscuits and Gravy" is huge and will satisfy the biggest appetite. A member of our group ordered a "Popeye Omelet" that was huge and perfectly cooked.
