The space is small and dark, but everything is clean and well maintained. I remember thinking "Regina" owned the bakery when I first went inside lol, but I learned that it just means queen in Italian. As for the food, I tend to stay away from black and white cookies outside of Jewish bakeries as they're often disappointing, but these are right on par! Soft cookie, solid, but soft icing. Exactly like a Jewish bakery. The rainbow cookies have spongy cake and the right amount of jelly between layers. The chocolate isn't waxy as often happens in refrigerator cases. The pignoli cookies are another winner, although I preferred the pignoli free version, the amaretti. Chewy on the inside, a little crunch on the outside, just like they should be. And a light dusting of powdered sugar. Jam cookies and crystal sugar sprinkled cookies were similarly delicious. Apple turnover was full of apple and yummy filling, without tasting fake or preserved. Nothing at this place lasts long enough to need to be preserved! The muffins are inventive. I don't even think I covered everything... I got way too much and yet not enough. That's my only gripe is that some of the stuff I look forward to is sold out lol I really have to try the Cannoli! I know, I know... Marie is a wonderful host, as was the employee who served us. They will describe any dessert for you and box it up how you want it. They'll even make recommendations. I decided to write this review now because I can't stop thinking about going back.

I also find a lot of it does not hold well. The cookies crumble quickly and the apricot hamantashen is fairly bland. I also got a raspberry one that is decent. Their black and white cookie stands up well to most others in the city. They also proudly sell Linzer tarts, which I had to get, and hopefully it holds up. If not, it will not bring this review down any further. I know what this bakery is without having to do that. I will stick with Cuccio's.

When we walked into this Bakery, I'm not lying when I say it's magical. Not just the decor, or the food itself, but the atmosphere. There was music playing in the back, and the sweet smell of freshly baked cookies. The owner as well as the other staff were so kind. Despite us not being a regular (at that time), they gave us 2 free cookies, as well as 4 extra cupcakes, all of which were amazing. It's almost impossible to decide whether the service is better than the cupcakes its self. Either way, this is not just a replacement for Clementine, it is a complete and utter upgrade in both service and quality. Thank you so much for making my mothers birthday spectacular, and we will definitley come back as soon as possible!

It made me want to try their other baked goods, but I just haven't been able to make my way back I'll have to prepare for a splurge day though because I can't not get the sourdough scone either!

Their shop window is open from Wednesday through Sunday, and they're so good that, if we're anywhere nearby or even just going in that direction, I'm always trying to figure out if I can fit in a detour to get some treats. The menu changes to fit the season, and the best way to keep track of what they might have on any given day is to check their Instagram and then the display cabinet by the register. My favorites are the donuts, cookies, small cakes, and the babka muffins, and I usually pair them with a strawberry hojicha latte, matcha, or some iced tea. They do have a few tables for outdoor seating if you're looking to enjoy everything right away. Looking forward to trying more soon!

They apparently have been open since 2001, and they have a nice little selection of goods ranging from biscuits and rusks to pastries, cookies, and other sweets. The friendly guy assisted us with our purchases, going over some of the options there for the others who weren't as familiar with the cookies. I personally got a quarter of a pound of their Almond Cookies, where a pound was $12, and based on the flavor and price, I soon regretted my small purchase. The biscuit was a shortbread-like cookie, presumably made from ghee. I think it falls under the category of nankhatai, but there is another pastry with the same name on their menu, so perhaps it's a variant? The biscuit had a soft texture, but not so much that it crumbled immediately. In this case, there were almonds throughout, and there was a faint but lovely cardamom flavor along with a mild sweetness. It was delicious and fully worth the purchase, as I think I got seven or eight of them for $3. Otherwise, I had a piece of someone else's Cream Roll, a puff pastry with fresh-made buttercream filling. It was $2.50, and the pastry had a nice, soft texture. Just like my dessert, it wasn't overly sweet or rich, and I liked it as well. The other person got a larger mix of pastries, and from what I've heard, they enjoyed it. I'm kind of relieved I'm nowhere near this place, as I would stop in frequently. Friendly and helpful staff, low prices, and excellent pastries. What's not to like?

However, that doesn't dim how absolutely adorable this cafe is. Apparently, this is the third location after Columbia Waterfront and Park Slope. First, the petite puff brioche I had today was the best thing I have eaten in a month. It was perfectly crisp on top, just sweet enough, and had these marvelous layers from all the dough lamination - it was so, so delicious, and made with love and expertise. I will dream about this pastry. It also comes in a loaf format and I must go back for more! On to the cafe. You open the door and you see cases of freshly baked quiche, sandwiches, pastries and fresh bread. They serve coffee and hot drinks, and have non dairy milk alternatives. The cafe is long and narrow with a half dozen two top tables along the walls to sit, eat and enjoy. I think with time the cafe will grow into a more cozy experience, but right now it feels a little sterile. The staff are exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful. They are happy to answer questions about various pastries, and are kind enough to clarify what kind of milk you prefer with your latte. I arrived soon after opening and they had a few on sale items by the register. Prices are fair for the neighborhood and the exceptional quality. A latte and pastry plus credit card fees ran me about $13 today.
