On a scale of 1-5, 1 being Breuger and 5 being Everything Bagels in Eastgate, The bagelry comes in at a 3. It definitely is the type of place I'd go if I wanted a bagel, but didn't have the time to trek from Clifton to Eastgate. The reason I don't think its as good is unfortunately because of the bagel quality. Bagel should have a shiny, crisp exterior and a soft, slightly chewy interior. To me, a bad bagel is more similar to a spongy piece of bread. With those qualifiers, the Bagelry makes bagels more akin to the spongy pieces of bread. I will likely find myself at the Bagelry again, however, I'll keep searching (perhaps in vain) for that NYC quality bagel in OTR. read more

Sometimes there is nothing quite like a bagel breakfast sandwich to hit the spot... The Bagelry is here to fully satisfy that need. We showed up and were pleased to see they do offer a few seats to dine in now. I loved the asagio bagel and would highly recommend it. The bagels are not too chewy, they're light and fluffy, so your jaw doesn't get tired eating it. I had mine with egg, cheddar and goetta. They get their goetta from Avril & Bleh. I had never had their goetta before and while I liked the flavor, the patty was paper thin. Not sure if that was because we got the last one of the day (before noon on Sunday) or if that's how it always is. Will try again though, because goetta is just the perfect way to round out a breakfast sandwich. Also love Urbana coffee, so thats also in the pro's column. All in all rivals Lil's Bagels in Covington and I will revisit soon. read more

I am a bit of a bagel sandwich guru/snob and I like to frequent bagel shops around the country that are a local renown and turn my nose up at chains like Panera or Einsteins. This place I will definitely remember. They had an array of bagel sandwich variations and my boyfriend got their southwestern (meat lovers recommend). Bagels were 3.5/5 however I give a 4/5 for overall service and creative, delicious bagel sandwich options. When I first heard that a bagel store was finally opening in OTR, I was elated. I have been wanting to go for the last few weeks and took the plunge this morning. They had lots of bagel options with interesting and classic styles of cream cheese (I can't wait to try the beer cheese cream cheese)! This place was the perfect spot to stop in for a midweek breakfast. The service was fast, the employees were both helpful and friendly, and the bagels did not disappoint. I got an everything bagel with avocado, Sriracha, egg,and bacon. Seriously....DELICIOUS. Just had my second visit here. Think these are possibly the best bagels in Cincinnati. The first time it was an early afternoon quick lunch of an everything bagel with their roasted veggie cream cheese. Perfect. What I loved was 1) how fresh the bagel tasted (somehow even other "made that morning" bagels don't have that out of the oven taste) and 2) that there wasn't the hint of sweetness that is often found in other bagels. Yesterday came for brunch. So splurged on the lox sandwich on a salt bagel. Haven't seen a salt bagel elsewhere in Cincy. Was joined by my son so gave him half and ordered an egg sandwich (created to order) on another everything to share. It was run through a warmer of some kind and didn't need toasting. Noticed that there was liberal seasoning all over the bagel. Even a lot on the bottom. The only problem is that they close at 2 pm so you need to plan/schedule your visit. This has become my favorite place to get a bagel or bagel sandwich. I highly recommend an everything bagel with egg, pepper jack cheese and bacon as a great way to start the day. I've also got a weakness for the strawberry flavored cream cheese on a salt bagel. The staff is friendly and helpful and gets the food out quickly, and I really can't ask for more. The last thing I'll mention is their coffee. I'm a fan of dark roasts and black coffee and I have to say the coffee at the bagelry has not disappointed me with the rich bold flavor that pairs nicely with the food. We've been wanting to try the Bagelry for awhile, and just had the best experience there this afternoon. Their menu includes options like smoked turkey from a local BBQ joint Lucious Q, a traditional Italian option, egg sandwich, as well as build your own options. I had the Smokey turkey on an everything bagel and it was legit heaven in my mouth - great crunch on the outside and perfect combo of cream cheese and toppings on the inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions and taking the time to ensure we had a great experience. A cool little spot. First caught wind of them for they provide the bagels at Lola's when getting a drink there. Here for collaboration of local businesses. Had a hankering to get breakfast somewhere in OTR and this was en route to my inital decision of stopping at Holtman's so thought to myself a breakfast sandwich wouled be a nice addition to the mix this morning. Staff was pretty attentive and didnt rush me as was preparing to order. Mind you traffic was nonexistent so definitely that factors. It's a $1 extra for cheese and whatever respected protein you're looking to get (25 cents for additional toppings). It was was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. Proportionally and servings wise could've been better. Since my wait time had me thinking I was fixin to get some behemoth of a sammich. Alas, that was not so. Definitely would give them another visit see what other bagel options (besides Blueberry, Everything, Cinnnamon Raisin, Plain, Sesame) they may have. read more
