Stopped here the other say when we were in Morristown. We got some items to go - spinach quiche, gingersnaps, and salted chocolate chip cookies. The quiche was delicious. The chocolate chip cookies were unbelievably soft and delicious. The ginger snaps were meh. They didn't really reek of ginger the way you would expect. That said.... When we got here yesterday U noticed a "Ginger Cappuccino" written up on their blackboard menu. I'm a sucker for a good espresso drink and I LOVE ginger, so I figured I'd give it a whirl, and Lord have mercy, it was absolutely spectacular.You can tell right off the first sip that they aren't using any of that fake, sugary pump-syrup you get at the big chains. This bad boy tastes like it has real, honest-to-goodness grated ginger steeped right into the milk. It gives you this wonderfully warm, spicy little kick that cuts right through the rich espresso and velvety foam perfectly. It is smooth, uniquely flavorful, and just downright delicious.This hidden gem on Cattano Avenue hits the nail right on the head. If you see the ginger cappuccino on the board when you walk in, do not hesitate--just order it!!! So sorry I learned about this as they are planning to close up shop. I went to The Artist yesterday for breakfast with a friend. It was a cute little shop on Cattano Ave, a side street in Morristown. I felt like I was in an old school bakery. They had an indoor dining room and an outdoor patio. We opted for the indoor dining room due to the heat wave. For breakfast, I ordered a chocolate chip crumb muffin and a pecan bar. I've never heard of a Chocolate Chip Crumb Muffin before, but it was delicious! The pecan bar was good as well. Unfortunately, I didn't order a drink because I don't like coffee and the only non-coffee drink they had was Hot Chocolate and unsweetened iced tea. Too hot for hot chocolate and I don't like unsweetened iced tea. The ladies at the counter were very nice though and gave me some tap water! Overall a great experience. Needed a birthday cake for my twins 18th so this was a great opportunity to try their specialty cakes. Ordered the layered chocolate cake and it was delish. The chocolate was decadent and high quality. I thought the cake was pricy at $95 but I figure quality ingredients cost more and this was a special occasion. Service was friendly as I ordered by phone and it was ready for pick up as promised. The space is still charming and packed with treats. You'll want one of everything! I pass by the place on the way to work all the time but have never stopped in until now. I was greeted by a very welcoming woman and a lot of options, especially gluten free ones. I could choose from a lemon tart, cashew tart, lots of cookies and even pumpkin bread I think. I got the lemon tart and it was probably the best gluten free lemon tart I've had yet. This is my second time here and both times the food has been amazing. I thought a GF pie was a little over priced, but so hard to find this quality of GF desserts I happily paid. Was around the corner waiting waiting for my items from Rago Brothers (they are awesome for anything shoe or leather repair/ restoration) and needed a place to hang out and grab a bite, Morristown is really void of much yelp love except for this spot that's open for lunch... the place was quaint and filled with character. Started with the curried tuna melt, and I despise curry in general, but this was the best tuna melt I have ever had. Cheese crisped up around the edges and the bread was house made, all came together well. Went here recently for the tea brunch and ordered a custom cake. The tea was very good with a good mix of sweet and savory along with very attentive service. It is in a very cozy room that can get very loud quickly when filled. As such a nice experience. As for the cake, it was quite expensive and not worth the money. Came across this business on Yelp when looking up nearest bakeries. I'm staying at the Hyatt just down the street so I decided to drop in this morning. This bakery is so cute and quaint. Inside they have a few tables near the entrance and more in another room off to the left of the cashier/counter. First thing you see when entering is their glass display that contains their whole Quiche pies, and other delicious baked goods for purchase. I originally came because I wanted some cupcakes, but unfortunately this day they only had a small container with 4 mini cupcakes inside. I was hoping to get some of the ones I seen on yelp, oh well. I ended up deciding on the mushroom quiche, 2 lemon tarts (one for my husband). A frosted blueberry scone and a small coffee, totaling $34. Not including my tip. The quiche was delicious, light and fluffy and full of flavor. I'm not sure if the "salad" was supposed to be a actual salad or just garnish because it was very skimpy. Only enough for just 3 bites. I wish it was more because it too was pretty good. The scone was sweet and filling. I was only able to eat a third due to how full I was from the quiche ( don't worry I will eat the rest later). The coffee was very good and went well with the rest of my meal. I unfortunately haven't tried the tarts yet, but if their anything like the scone, it too will taste delicious. As for the staff, the lady at the counter greeted me upon arrival and took my order. Others on yelp complained about not feeling welcome or cashier being rude. I felt none of that. The cashier seemed friendly and welcoming enough. I don't know what others were looking for, but I felt she did her job well. I could see others working in the back and I seen the owner come out from the back to talk to the cashier. She looked very professional and just like the picture's on Yelp. I loved the quiche and salad here. The quiche was unquestionably some of the best quiche I have ever eaten. The salad was fresh, with a delicious light and tangy dressing. The experience of dining here was off-putting for me. I was meeting a friend here. When I stepped in the front door, neither person behind the counter looked up or greeted me. One woman was scowling as she packed some bakery items. I knew my friend was already here, so after waiting a minute without being acknowledged, I explored thru the main room, down the steps to the second room and saw my friend seated at a table. I joined her, and a server promptly came over and asked if we had decided what we wanted. I politely said "We need menus please." The server definitely seemed irritated with me, and said impatiently, "look on the blackboard" pointing to a large menu board on the far side of the room. Even with my glasses on, I could not read the words from where I was sitting, because the chalk was so faint. If you look at my photo, you will see how hard to read the menu was, even after I had walked through the narrow and crowded room, and stood just a few feet away from the menu. The food came out quickly. The tables are very close together, and I was overhearing neighoring tables conversations, and I knew they were overhearing mine. At one point, I could tell from the reaction of the people next to me, but they were responding to something I had said that they were listening to. I never like it when that happens. After we finished eating, we would have liked to have sat and talked for a while, but we got the impression they wanted us to pay our bill and leave. As I left, I looked over to the same woman that had ignored me when I came in, and she was sitting in the corner on her phone, frowning and ignoring customers. Wonderful bakery-cafe in what looks like the Morristown Diagon alley. Walking in, the rustic interior is very charming. I peek inside and see all these small two tops being used by ladies who lunch. There are a few tables in front but in the back is where all the action is happening. The back of the store has a beautiful brick patio and steps which lead to a courtyard. My mission is to get a salad to go and sit in the courtyard. I'm assuming the woman assisting me is the proprietor. I'm seeing all of the freshly made scones, cookies and baked goods. They have a nice looking espresso machine. The restaurant may look cute but their coffee game is all business. I read the chalkboard for specials and the pear salad is calling me. A few Yelpers have trashed this place regarding the staff. Have you ever been to New England? Don't have a thin skin Morristown, this woman is direct. She's accepting an order, there is no room for error. There were people talking and I didn't hear what she said. She repeated it slower but I can see there was no error on her part. Her face showed it. Goat cheese or blue cheese was said very slowly. Blue cheese please :D Now anyone can throw lettuce in a box, shake it up and say here ya go! My salad was meticulously prepared, from the blue cheese crumble to the thinly sliced pears. Bravo. I'm about to take my salad and dine on the patio. I'm told the tables do not belong to the bakery. Great places can be found in smaller spaces! Traveling in northern NJ is very satisfying knowing I can always find a great meal to start my day. The Artist Baker is just the one place creative cooking shows. I enjoyed the avocado toast with all the fixings! It had two good size homemade toast with plenty of avocado. Toppings were well coordinated. With lightly fried onions, carrots and jalapeños this morning starter surely had a wonderful taste. The dish was complimented with a small portion of salad and grapes! A good mix of music played in the background. The dining area was small but I liked the decor. The high ceilings and large picture frames gave a sense of a bigger space. I am a fan of bicycles and this place had them everywhere. After speaking with one of the employees, I found out that in years past, a bike repair shop shared part of the space so that's what the decor was all about. I love history! The owner welcomed me gave me a quick overview of their featured food and bakery. I did get some sweet bake goods to share with coworkers. I highly recommend this place! read more

I don't think there is anything this place doesn't do well. The store is very small, so you can easily miss it but try not to when you're in the Morristown area. My wife loves the sandwich cookie desserts but I I'm all about the pistachio granola. You'll get one bag and you won't be able to stop yourself! My heart fluttered when I entered the door. The cutest little shop with the most charming decorations. When you approach the counter and look at all of the baked goods, you can tell they are all delicately hand made and are special. I wanted to try everything haha. Not the type of cafe where you can sit and do work on a laptop since they do table service and can get busy, but definitely a relaxing place where you can make solo trips and just enjoy some good bites. A last minute trip for some pastries 10 minutes before they close shop and it didn't disappoint. I was half expecting some scary dragon lady behind the counter because multiple yelpers have complained about rude and condescending staff. The lady behind the counter was cheerful, normal, definitely nothing worth complaining about. We got a carrot and strawberry cupcake which my daughter loved. I got a torched marshmallow looking chocolate cake. Very sweet on the outside but the inside of was slightly bitter so overall it balanced well. I enjoyed and finished it in 3 minutes.
