It has a cute feel and modern and bright aesthetic that a lot of new coffee shops I see popping up have. I went with a Flat White which was warm and soothing. Unfortunately, the espresso was over-extracted making it bitter to taste. Some sugar or a flavor syrup would've helped with that but I didn't anticipate the taste to be as acidic and dry as it was. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and was happy I had a chance to do so. Their coffee is very good. I ordered an iced coffee with only skim milk and you could taste the richness of the coffee in every sip. The server was friendly and greeted me with a smile. I also love the fact you could add spices like cinnamon to your drink with a cool side condiment station. But 6+ dollars for a medium iced coffee is a little crazy even in this era. Super cute coffee shop. I got a large iced Pilates Body Maple Matcha and my fiancé got an iced vanilla dirty chai (forgot the actually name of the drink). Both drinks were delicious. General Coffee is on the pricier side, $20 and change after tax and pre-tip. However, the large size is similar to a venti size from Starbucks so you do get a lot of drink for the price. There's a lot of options ranging from coffee, to lattes and matcha. I don't live close by but definitely plan to stop by if I'm in the area to try more from the menu. read more

I made it to General Coffee for their one-day special featuring the glacé collab (the Apple Cider Slushy and the Apple Pie à la Mode Sundae). While both items were a bit too sweet for my personal taste, the slushy was incredibly refreshing. Both specials came topped with a torch-toasted marshmallow fluff. First time trying this cute little coffee shop! It's right on the corner so easy to find! I went around 6:45 so there was no trouble finding parking. It's small inside but really nice! I got their cinnamon vanilla cold brew. It's about $6.50. Not bad for the size (I got a small) It was delicious. Some of the best coffee I've ever had. Not too sweet. They try to get fancy with their details - as in, my cup of iced coffee had 6 little ice cubes in a block floating at the top. Not sure if that was an accident, but I thought it was fun. Coffee was about the same strength as Starbucks. The viral poptart was also pretty nice. A flakey puff pastry with jam, can't go wrong. A mixed review for what should be an excellent stop in a prime Morristown location. The Good... good.food.and drink. We had a homemade pop tart and lemon loaf that were tasty. Coffee, one iced and one hot half-caf Americano were equally good. The Bad... service was SLOW and uninspired. Two coffees and bakery goods should be quick. With one in line in front of us, the uninspired staff, who looked like they'd rather not be working, with no greeting or even a half smile were not exactly quick. The Ugly... three workers behind the counter, male and female, all with long hair that was down. Viral homemade pop tarts??? I was on the hunt for a cute local coffee shop in the Morristown area, and the mention of viral poptarts in several reviews brought me here! I walked in and the first big decision I had to make was what I wanted to drink. I love a call out board of seasonal drinks and recommendations to help me with my indecisiveness. I chose Dylan's choice from the barista recommendation list which was a double cortado with oat and almond milk. I just knew this would be the perfect pairing for my poptart since it would be strong, smooth, and creamy (in a non dairy type way) to balance out the poptart sweetness. For the supposedly viral poptart, I was pleasantly surprised to still have options at 8am because if I lived in the area I would be buying them for work and bartering with my coworkers for favors if they are that good lmao! My options were strawberry shortcake, wild berry, and black and white with a chocolate Bavarian cream. Tough choices but I'm a sucker for strawberries so I chose the strawberry shortcake. I brought my drink and poptart back to my room so I could judge the poptart without distractions. The verdict........I need one in every flavor please! Straight up viral! Delicious! Let me run blocks around Morristown just so I can eat more!!!! The pastry was buttery and flaky, the icing was lightly flavored without being too sweet, and the filling was a super fresh strawberry gooeyness reminiscent of childhood poptarts but all grown up!!! Normally I would only eat half of something like this in one seating but I downed the whole thing with my perfectly paired and blended cortado!!!! Tried a new coffee place in Morristown. Very small inside with only a counter with 3 seats to sit at. Coffee was good and I had their version of a Cinnamon pop tart and it was good. The service was good and I just got drip coffee but they were making espresso coffees. I had to wait to give my order but they did acknowledge me. Great coffee and treats in a really beautiful yet modest space. GC is a nice additional to Motown's pretty good coffee scene and closer to the Green than anyone but that place from Seattle. Owner Jason was front and center and was beaming with pride on his first full weekend open. Nice touch offering free fancy popsicles to everyone walking by on a lovely Saturday afternoon. We ordered a latte ($5) or a cappuccino($4) and they both were awesome. My little one got a little box of rainbow nonpareils ($8.95) rails that we snuck some eith our coffee later and were yummy. We split a crumb cake($3.49) and that was absolutely delicious . We also got a chocolate chip cookie ($4.50) for my oldest but it was cold outside and he didn't want any. My youngest also got the milk chocolate pretzels($3.95) - she finished the 2 within the week so must have been yummy. The person behind the counter was nice but took a while for our order to be ready, once another person came out, the orders started flowing quicker. It seems more of a to-go place... There was a bar table along the wall with some high stools that were all occupied. The stove is pretty neat and tidy. So of the chocolate items appear to come from another chocolate shop across the street which I've never been to. The products on the wall seemed giftable. We parked in a garage around the corner which we targeted because We were looking for some good coffee until and this place had good ratings. read more

Coffee is 10/10, but the lids are 0/10. Even when the lid is on correctly, coffee still somehow leaches out, and not just one drop, it's a FLOW. This happens every single time I order coffee (which tastes delightful), but ruining clothes at 6am is not delightful. Please fix!!! read more
