I'm giving a 3-star review for good menu choices. HOWEVER, the service for take-out is terrible. We weren't able to wait inside, even though there were numerous empty tables we could have been offered to wait in. We were told to wait in the car until it was ready, but how would we know if it was ready???? No one took our number to let us know. So we waited in the freezing cold for almost 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Good food, bad service. read more

Average at best. Someone needs to teach the cook about over easy eggs, last I checked they're suppose to be runny. Asked for no peppers in an egg bowl. It came that way, however it still had the pepper flavor. The point of asking is I don't care for the flavor of cooked pepper. Too picky? Maybe...IDK. read more

YUM. I LOVE breakfast. I love getting it made for me and I love making my own semi-elaborate breakfasts (all savory). I've been wanting to try this place since it opened. I've got a friend/band mate who lives in the area and has been talking it up from day 1. On a recent Sunday, just after Covid restrictions were lifted, my wife, my mom and I hit it up after flea-marketing in Mansfield. We waited quite a bit for a table either inside (which is quite wee) or outside which is clearly a covid-make shift patio. I didn't mind the wait in the least but my fellow diners are impatient ladies. We were seated outside (yay!) and ordered a custom omelet, breakfast casserole and the breakfast wrap (just cheddar), two ginger ales and one coffee with milk. The milk was forgotten for quite some time but eventually remedied. I never (ever) opt for fruit salad but on this day, I went for it and it was delightful. Honeydew melon, blueberries, pineapple, tangerines. My wrap was amazing though I was drooling at the breakfast casserole my mom ordered (see pic). The food might be OK, but the service is rude and lacking on professionalism. Should be renamed the angry owner, instead of the angry egg. I paid but did not eat. I went for take out service, and, even though the place was almost empty, they asked me to wait in a corner near the door. Then someone from the counter approach me asking for payment and directing me to wait on my car. I mentioned that my car was blocks away, so, even though it was cold, they instructed me to wait outside. I left, even though, I had paid. After attempting to eat here three times- every single time involved a waitlist, with NO estimated wait time available- we finally decided to join the list and see what all of this waiting around for breakfast was all about. We were notified of a table about 15 minutes later, and we were instantly greeted and served coffee and water accordingly. They have a blackboard of Breakfast Specials, and it was posted that there was a "$1 surcharge due to food costs." I found this a bit unnecessary and sneaky- it is not mentioned on their website or on their menu. I ordered their Mediterranean Scramble and my friend ordered a short stack of Buttermilk Pancakes with a side of Sausage patty's. The food took a reasonable time to arrive. During this time I watched a woman who seemed to be the Manager or Owner treat several people with less than common courtesy. As potential customers walked in she obviously found it an annoyance to communicate with them about the waitlist and even blamed customers for stealing her pens- which as I witnessed never happened... pens were never left by the clipboard, the wait staff let the customers borrow them and then took them back... but, I digress, this was ineffective and slightly rude. What truly was upsetting is that a woman came in with a walker and this employee asked her to wait outside! Told her literally to go wait outside despite the fact that she was disabled, having difficulty walking, and had no where to sit. This is in fact against Title III of the ADA. Customers got up from their table and helped escort her back out of the restaurant as she had difficulty turning around- the actual staff of the establishment could not be bothered. The food was mediocre. The service from our actual waitress was great. The food runners/ bus person, also good. The sweet potato cake was not good. The Mediterranean Scramble itself was flavorful, my friend's pancakes were just "okay." The sausage was overcooked, but edible. Needless to say, we will not be returning. There are plenty of other places that offer better breakfast options and much better customer service. read more

Also when you go to sign your name on the board you wait wait and wait! tables are available but they call people on their phone and hold the table even if they've left and give them 10 minutes or so to come back and return instead of taking the people that have been outside waiting for a table makes no sense/. Not worth it!! Just go to Tasos Eggsellent . Quick service and great food!!! I heard they relocated to a new location. Regardless, your the owner and have a terrible business ethic. If you go there stick with an egg dish and don't complain/send something back. There were three of us and two of us got pancake dishes. One regular and one gluten free. First it don't come with maple butter which the menus says it does. No biggie but when asked for it there were out. Guy behind me said they've been out for months. Again didn't affect the meal just an FYI. What did affect was when the pancakes came out I noticed mine the regular ones with mixed berries was light on color. Cut in the middle and it wasn't fully cooked. Not runny but very squishy but all of the berries were in the middle. My wife's had almost no color and she cut into the middle and liquid came out. We asked for those to be cooked more or a new set which ever was easiest for the kitchen. At that point we should have taken it to go because it was like we weren't there. My dad got an omelet which was cooked fine and the potatoes were done good. Nice flavor not soft and dry. But after we sent my wife's back which they just did a new set they never came back to the table. No coffee refills, no checking on the meal nothing. We had a few bites of food left on out plates and the server walked by and put the check on the table. Didn't check if we're done didn't say a word. If you want a place for an egg breakfast it fits the bill but you can get that just about anywhere. read more

Amazing food and attentive friendly service. First time visiting and I'll be back again for sure. The breakfast corndog (pictured) was all I hoped for and more. The menu has something for everyone. I opted for a breakfast sandwich with egg whites. Somehow they folded the cheese just right so when I cut into it, the cheese oozed out. . Every bite, had a bit of each ingredient (rare find for sandwiches). The Angry Egg just may convert me to a Morning and breakfast person- of which I am neither! Small space with amazing food! I had the chicken salad on a brioche roll that was the tastiest I've ever had. The roll was toasted and the chicken salad was comprised of chunks of white meat, apples and cranberries with just enough mayo to hold it together. The service was friendly and attentive. The Angry Egg is anything but angry. It should be called the nice egg because the service and the food is so nice. In my continued quest to find good breakfast spots here in Connecticut, I look for places that obviously have good food but other factors such as price, atmosphere and service also play a role in what I consider as a good spot to eat. The Angry Egg checks off a lot of those boxes for me. Parking is convenient and easy to locate in downtown Manchester. We came towards the end of the day and so we were quickly seated. Our server pointed out the specials which were very intriguing but ultimately we stuck with the menu which had some gems on them. I went with after the advice of the staff, the steak and eggs omelette. My wife chose the "I'm Hangry" which came a ton of food for the price. It came with two eggs two strips of bacon two breakfast sausage home fries toast and two pancakes. More than enough to share with your kids. My steak and eggs came with home fries and a nice chipotle sauce on top. The omelette came with steak cheese and sautéed onions. I who's there was a little bit more of the steak in the omelette but overall, it was delicious. I also had a cup of dark roast coffee which was pretty good and I like that there were a few options for coffee. Usually breakfast places just serve you decaf but here, I had a few varieties to choose from. The home fries were crisp and tasty and when I combined the chipotle sauce with the home fries created an amazing bite. The Angry Egg left a nice impression on me and I've already started plotting what I will try upon my next visit. read more

As a kid, my dad used to take me for a walk down to the Sunny Side Up Diner on Main St, Manchester, CT as a surprise if I was up early enough on a Saturday morning. Well, the Sunny Side Up Diner has been gone for awhile and the space was left vacant on Main Street for some time. So, the other day when my husband and I were looking for a breakfast place on our way back to Eastern CT from Hartford, I was excited to see The Angry Egg had taken up their spot. We arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday morning and encountered no line or wait for a booth inside. BTW, The Angry Egg has several tables outside, if you are feeling adverse to indoor dining. We were greeted, offered the booth, and asked about beverages as we reviewed the menu. I had the bold coffee option and my husband had regular. There was at least one flavored option for coffee, but I don't recall what it was. As you can imagine, based on the name, eggs dominate the menu. They do have the regular non-egg breakfast items such as pancakes and french toast. The meats, bacon and sausage, are from the local meat company in town, Bogners. Even though I left Manchester nearly 20 years ago, Bogners is still my favorite shop for excellent cuts of meat, bacon, and breakfast sausages to serve at home. Local and quality. As I looked over the menu, I was drawn to the Breakfast Casserole. It was a delightful creation of delicious foods combined together: three eggs with a black bean salsa, topped with pepper jack cheese topped with a pancake size potato pancake topped with avocado crème. I had breakfast sausages on the side, but had the choice of having sausage cooked in with the eggs. The Breakfast Casserole was a delicious! My husband enjoyed the French Toast which is actually stuffed french toast. The stuffing/filling is mascarpone cheese with berries. There is maple butter and whipped cream plus two sausages to add to the joy of eating this brilliant meal. I would definitely recommend The Angry Egg. I have read reviews from others who write about not being able to get in. As with any breakfast place, timing is key. I would suppose weekend mornings between 8:30 and 11:00 there isn't a seat to be had here. And I'm putting this guest out there about the weekends because at 10:30 on a Wednesday morning there was seating, both inside and outside, but only a few tables outside and one or two inside, plus a few seats at the counter. Again, that's how many breakfast places are, that are good and loved by the people in their town. read more

This would be a 3.5 star review, our waitress was lovely pushing it past 3 stars. We waited about 10 minutes for a table on a late Sunday morning. Restaurant is clean and nice fresh flowers on the tables. They do a big takeout business in addition to the booths and countertops inside. There are specials when you walk in on a chalkboard. We ordered the French toast (which came with berries and marscapone) and the citrus pancakes special with a side of home fries. The French toast was on thick sliced bread perhaps challah. The pancakes were very slightly citrus although you could see gratings of lemon rind visibly. We added in real maple syrup which came in the cutest container to the table. The wait for the food was super long, an hour, but our waitress refilled my husbands hot tea, and we had nowhere to be. The home fries side was small but the prices were super reasonable. Cute, quaint, bright dining experience. Staff is very friendly, the place very clean. It was hard to make a decision on breakfast because of all the delicious sounding options. I ordered the two egg breakfast with a side of the angry hash. The eggs were cooked perfectly and I loved the angry hash (not pictured), it had really good flavor. Liz, Steve and her amazing staff do such an incredible job of making us feel so special, welcome and appreciated every time me and my family walk through the door! The location is great, parking is always a breeze and the food is second-to-none! The physical space is so tastefully appointed and has so much fun, down-to-earth flair! I love how creative they get with the weekend specials but also have so much love for the good old classics that they nail so well! Friendly service with great food and coffee! We were so impressed with how nice and helpful all the servers were and how delicious the food was. We ordered the egg bowl, an egg roll, and the I'm hangry. Everything was very delicious but in particular I was impressed with the pancakes that came with the I'm hangry. They were so flavorful (had a hint of cinnamon perhaps?) and fluffy and were insanely good, especially when paired with the maple syrup. We also ordered the Irish cream coffee which was very good! Stopped in for breakfast on Sunday before the Comics and Toy Show at the Army Navy Club across the street. A "Too Many Beni" special was listed on the board for $16. I asked to order the "regular" Eggs Beni (from the menu - $13) but was told I could only get the special one. What? Why? The waiter could not explain why, nor could he explain the difference between the "Too Many Beni" and the regular one. (Obvious difference is $3). I wound up with a breakfast bowl with some fatty ham and bacon and not nearly enough eggs - a bad choice. read more
