With a suggestion with fellow helper Sandy, I went to that's amore. Started off with bruschetta which was wonderful. Followed by fettuccini Alfredo and carbonara. Both of which were great portions and amazing. Not wanting to leave we ordered both of the fillets. One with a peppercorn sauce and the other with basalmic. Great staff. Will definitely go back before leaving. read more

Thank you Yelpers for helping me find this restaurant. A complete gem right next to Fontana di Trevi. Extremely friendly staff, all fluent in English and amazing food and environment. We had the fillet mignon with homemade pepper sauce and Rosemary roasted potatoes, the lamb and two types of veal: one with prosciutto and one with porcini mushrooms. All amazing. Will be back here very soon, probably tomorrow to be completely honest! read more

What a wonderful evening we had at That's Amore. We had reservations and they sat us by the window. Service was prompt and friendly. One of the people (perhaps the owner, as he was not dressed as the waiters), even stroke up a conversation with us. For appetizer, we ordered pizza rolls which were out of this world. Next came our first courses - gnocchi, lasagna, l'amatriciana and carbonara were cooked to perfection. The pasta was al Dante and flavors were divine. For second course, we shared veal scaloppini and sea bass. For dessert, we shared apple strudel and Torta caprese (flaky layers with cream, slivered almonds and chocolate). We were all fully content with our meals. Definitely will come back again! If you are close to Trevi, make it a point to dine at this place! read more

I highly recommend getting a reservation in advance. It really helps! This place isn't big. This was by far the best meal we had in Rome especially around the Spanish Step area. Will I come again? YES, when I'm in Rome which I'm waiting for the Trevi fountain to open back from its construction. read more

We arrived at this place via Yelp review, but we were utterly disappointed of the service we received on a Friday evening. We walked in around 9:30pm without reservation and the host said that the main dinning room was full and offered us a table at the side room, close to the kitchen. No problem. It took the waiter a good 10 minutes before coming to our table to take drink orders, and another good 15 minutes for our starter to arrive. It takes a further 15-20 minutes before our 0main dishes arrived. We left 90 minutes later, but only 20 minutes of it was spend on actual eating of food. While we appreciate that things are made fresh in the kitchen, by the time the party at the next table, who arrived AFTER us, finished their first pasta dish, we were still waiting for our starter to arrive. The Italians are proud of their food and enjoys the food experience over glass of good wine and friends. However, what we received that night was anything but. The food was decent and price reasonable. After we inquired of their usual service time with the wait staff, the manager came to the table and offered a drink to apologize. They seem to care about us, but unfortunately it was too little too late. Just curious if anyone else had similar experience, or that there is something we do not know about.. read more

Looking for great pasta on our last night in Rome with the sauce to match our high hopes. We had not found it yet after two prior nights at other establishments until we landed here! Pasta cooked perfect al dente with the SAUCE that made the combination amazing! Bread was a nice texture in our mouths -- some stout and firmness but not heavy. We had "Twin" wait staff that my daughters thought were beautiful that added to their ambiance! Haha. In all seriousness, they were attentive and worked very hard to make sure we were enjoying our experience and that everything was perfect. It was! read more

This restaurant is definitely a tourist trap. NYC's tourist Italian's restaurant are a bit better than here. The spaghetti with tomato sauce tasted like school lunch. The truffle mushroom spaghetti tasted mediocre but not saucy enough. My mother enjoyed her grilled salmon which was the only highlight of the meal. Food took a while to come out. read more

These people are so racist. We were only Asians at the place rest of were white people. But those guys didn't give us complimentary breads. That's was so gross and awful. I'll never ever go to this place. read more

This was a wonderful, tasty experience! The food was incredible and the service exceptional. We showed our server his previous yelps! It was fun and friendly.. did I mention the food was exceptional? I had a traditional pasta dish.. my friend had the truffle fettuccini with porcini mushrooms! Both great.. and The bruschetta- mama Mia! Don't miss this small little gem! read more

This was our favorite restaurant in Rome, and bordering on the best in Italy and/or our honeymoon that we went to. I had some cod pasta with cherry tomatoes, my wife had the fruti di mare pasta, second course I had a fliet with black peppercorns and she had a wine braised beef stew, it was all delicious. Just very good food and service. I recommend a reservation, you can do it online. read more

Best italian food I have had. We were in italy for few days and ate at so many places but this place is the best. Although its little expensive, charge for water(which common in the entire italy) and fixed service charge even for kids who are not eating. The gnocchi is so delicious and their pizza and ravioli are just mouth watering. read more

Went to this restaurant the first night of our honeymoon in Rome. Very popular restaurant as it was full but we were seated promptly, even 10 min earlier than our 8pm reservation. Their truffle fettuccini was amazing as well as their del mar pasta, and they were very accommodating with our requests. Pasta plates were so big and everything tasted fresh! Would go back again read more

I was in the area and looking for something to get lunch, when I saw the popularity of this place on yelp, I decided to go. The getting seated part was the longest- it was a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was full. The whole place is not very big and there are tables other are on the outside part of the restaurant. We ordered a pizza, lasagna and fettuccini bolognese and we were all pleased with our choices. I think this is definitely one of the better tasting food I've had in Rome and I've been here about 4 days. The portions were plenty for one person, and we topped off our food with some Pinot and vermocino wines. The bathroom however needs work- It is kept clean, but you cannot flush the toilet paper and the water for the sink can be access if you pump it with your foot on the bottom. Just a minor comment, I would recommend this restaurant for food and would consider coming here again. read more

Great service and delicious Italian food! The pasta was incredible! Make sure you make a reservation way in advance or you won't get in... and you want to get in!! read more

Great pasta, great pizza. You really cannot go wrong here. Though it was nearly all tourists there (and a little bit higher prices than what you would find around) it was absolutely worth it. It is small, a little crowded, but we loved our food (mushroom pasta + sausage pizza) and would go there again. read more

Wow! The best food. We had the best lasagna ever here. We also had the four cheese pizza which was also quite good, but the lasagna, wow!!!

Tried the grigliata mista, carpaaccio do salmone, and fabio's saltimbocca.... good food, good service but food quality was not 4.5 stars... You definitely need a reservation her but we were able to get in quickly at 6pm. House white wine tastes good, worth buying the bottle if you are a wine drinker... would recommend read more

At around 4pm on a Tuesday, I made a reservation on Yelp for That's Amore for 8pm that evening. We arrived around 7:50, and they didn't have our reservation, but said they took care of everyone who makes one and found a way to seat us, amongst the already-packed cozy restaurant. The two men working the door that we spoke with were both so friendly and accommodating, and we ended up at a small table for two in the corner that allowed us a great view of everything going on in the restaurant. We started off with a mixed salad, and a bubbling eggplant/mozzarella bake that was amazing! It was so tasty and cheesy... a great way to start the meal! For our main courses, my mother had the Spaghetti ai frutti di mare and loved it. I had a special - a pasta dish with white truffle, that was shaved onto my pasta right at the table. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed. The homemade noodles were very good - tender, but al dente - but the truffle itself, and therefore the overall dish, lacked flavor. I really wanted to love it, but it was just ok. For dessert, we had the That's Amore Semifreddo - a semi-frozen nougat with amaretto and crème caramel topping, and it was delicious! Overall, we really enjoyed the experience. The customer service was incredibly positive, the restaurant atmosphere very inviting, and there were a couple standout dishes. I would definitely return to try more of the menu. read more

This was our first full meal in Rome, conveniently located near our hotel. We were at first skeptical of a restaurant with an English word as part of its name, but reviews were very strong. Thankfully those reviews lived up to expectations. I had the gnocchi, which was to die for -- extremely fresh, with incredible flavor, and true depth. The melted buffala in the center added a creamy touch, especially delicious with bread. My wife had linguine with pesto sauce and pine nuts and she was ecstatic (and she knows her pesto!). We are on a mission to try as many restaurants as possible while here, but we may need to give That's Amore another go before we leave. Grazie mille! read more

Great food! I had the buffalo cheese and tomato pizza with pesto and my mom had the lasagna. Hands down the best lasagna I have ever tasted. The pizza was good, but please order the lasagna. Best dinner spot near the Trevi! Most rustic and delicious food we have had in Rome. It's a little on the nicer/pricey side but well worth splurging here! Make sure to make reservations earlier in the day. There is a 1-2 hr wait currently standby but we got seated immediately with our reservation! Don't let the location near the Fontana Trevi fool you into thinking That's Amore is a tourist-trap. It's far from it! We were seated pretty quickly even though the restaurant is fairly small and we needed reservations apparently. The service and food is molto bene! I would definitely recommend stopping by for dinner. The other places we went to during our stay in Rome this time cannot compete. read more

Found out about this restaurant from another tourist couple. Went on Yelp and confirmed a very good rating. We called for reservations ( recommended ), and got a 6pm on Saturday. Italy eats late so beware. A small restaurant with warm charm. Love the pictures through out the place of old Hollywood actors. Our hostess was Lola and was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter was Kelvine and was great. Very helpful with menus. A very good red blend of Savingesse and Merlot @ $20. started our night. Pastas, ordered; lasagna (excellent), altramacino ( a spicy version for my taste, excellent), vegetarian pizza, (very good) and a fettuccini with a vodka sauce that my wife said was delicious. Desserts were good too. I would make a effort to go here. Great location to shop and sight see, Trevi fountain is close by. read more

Took the whole family here to celebrate our anniversary dinner. They were nice enough to save us table 20 in the back. Super casual but delicious foods. Bruschetta was HUGE and three different styles. Gnocchi, salmon pasta, Tagliolini, and That's Amore heart shaped pizza. Note that Marinara pizza doesn't have cheese. Every dish was amazing and we only wished we could finish it all since takeaways aren't customary in Italy. We couldn't fit desert but of course they comped us 4 limoncellos to finish the meal. This restaurant was recommended to us by another couple and wow it did not disappoint! The pasta was amazing!! I had the ravioli filled with cheese which had a delicious sauce. My boyfriend ordered the fettuccine bolognese which he said was delicious and meaty. The only thing that was a little lacking was their bruschetta appetizer although good we had better in other restaurants we visited while on our travels in Italy. Overall a great experience with friendly staff and fresh pasta! read more

My husband got the margherita pizza and I got the fettuccine Alfredo. Not the best margherita pizza in town but definitely not the worst. Alfredo was very flavorful and the portion size was big! I wish I had more room to finish it. The desserts look simply amazing- we didn't have room otherwise we would have ordered. Service is a little slow but our waitress was very sweet. Very busy restaurant- went for lunch on a Sunday. read more

Though in touristy location. Good Italian food. Ordered pizza margarita and lasagna. Lasagna was amazing, simple ragu sauce.

Black truffle fettuccini with mushroom was amazing! The fettuccine was cooked to perfection and the truffle flavor complemented the mushroom well. Prosciutto Pizza was not bad. I am used to pizza with arugula so this pizza was average for me. I would recommend this restaurant in Rome if you want something simple and close to the Trevi fountain. Definitely try the house white wine as it was very easy to drink. read more

Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation (yes, we knew a wait was expected) the host was trying to accommodate everyone and write names. As we waited a lady that was leaving claimed that "it's worth the wait!!!" There were about five or so couples waiting to be seated before us. People with reservations came and left. Were told it would be a thirty minute wait. Again, we knew we'd have to wait everywhere else since we did not make a reservation anywhere for the night. The host came back and had to take names again because she lost her original list. We waited a bit more; a few couples left due to the wait. When we finally got seated it took at least fifteen minutes for waitstaff to take our order. Thirty minutes more to receive the food, and eventually our waiter disappeared. We had to get another waiter to take our payment after waiting what seemed like another twenty minutes. I overheard them speak amongst themselves that our waiter was outside smoking. Really disappointed with the service that we received. Mind you, the couple that was in front of us in line were seated beside us and were in-and-out of the restaurant due to their waiter's attentiveness. The food was below average and I honestly don't believe it was worth two hours of my life. read more

Excellent selection and variety of different Italian dishes. Whether your craving pizza or a more extravagant plate, this place has it.

Our service was fantastic, our food was fantastic, and the house wine was well above average. My family ordered a wide variety if dishes: gnocchi, lasagna, pasta with seafood, pasta with eggplant, all incredible. Generous portions as well. Many negative reviews mention crummy service, but we didn't have anything close to this experience. Avoid the tourist traps on Arcione. Go to That's Amore! The atmosphere in the front room is excellent. If you can eat there, do so. Skip the back room, as it can get a little stuffy back there. With the windows open in the main dining room, you'll be cool and comfortable while you eat. read more

Do your best to make reservations before you go. We went two days in a roll during our August vacation in Rome. Both times they looked to be fully booked, but on the first night the extremely helpful maitre d' managed to find us a table for four. Boy were we lucky! We had an apple salad (shared), truffle fettuccine, carbonara, cod and clam pastas. All were great, especially the salad and truffle fettuccine. Service was very friendly. It seemed their waiters all speak English well and there were a lot of tourists just like us. Deserts were gelato and tiramisu, shared among the four of us. Tiramisu was rather different from the ones commonly seen in the U.S., but looked and tasted fantastic! Food was fresh and tasty, and waiters were attentive and helpful. Even though the place was full and busy the whole time we were there, we never felt the service was slow or rushed. It just seemed like everyone was having a great time enjoying the food and each other's company. Highly recommended! read more
