Oh my gosh, what is not to say about this amazing hidden gem, true farm table quality ingredients. The Chef is the owner and her husband is the front of the house concierge. Located, of course on one of my favorite Beaches so whether it's a walk before or after your lunch or dinner, you've really can't beat this place, but don't tell anyone! Food was delicious and hospitality was top notch! We shared the pesto shrimp salad and a pizza; the salad came highly recommended and exceeded the hype. The salad was also HUGE. The pizza was delicious. The bread was served with a delicious sun-dried tomato pesto (we asked if we could buy a whole jar it was so incredible). I highly recommend making a stop!

Came here around 7pm on Saturday as a party of 7. Got seated in a couple minutes. The restaurant was almost full. Since there was only one server at the time it took about 10-15 minutes to get our orders taken. The food came out within 5-10 minutes. They gave us some chili flakes and parmesean. The chicken alfredo was good. Not too salty but the chicken was tender and the pasta was just right. The insalata pizza was super delicious. The arugula and prosciutto gave it a lot of flavor. The garlic bread didn't have much garlic flavor on it and some of the garlic was burnt however the bread was fluffy. Overall a great italian place. A bit slow service because they were understaffed but understandable. The server was also very friendly.

What an experience. From the decor, to the service, to the amazing food. Just wow!! The owners are amazing. The chef (wife/owner) told me about her 50 year old sourdough starter after I inquired about the fabulous bread. It has the best chew on it. I asked for a couple loaves to go. Ordered a pizza from the lunch menu. Yum !! I feel like I could go on & on about how great everything was ! Will definitely share this gem with everyone who enjoys a great dining experience as much as I do.

    Truly amazing Caprese Salad!!!

I have to start out by saying that I was originally going to give this place 3 stars because while the food was good, it was not great, more like average overall but then I remembered that amazing Caprese Salad me and the wife shared and just for that salad alone, I decided to add another star to the review. We stopped at this new place that a coworker had recommended since we mentioned trying something local but new (to us). Since this was located in a potentially busy place for a Friday night, we decided to try them for an early lunch instead. When we arrived, the place was just starting to open so not everything was setup. Out waiter was very nice, and brought us all of the specials and decided to chat with us about the place. All-in all it was a very nice experience but I felt the food itself, our main entrees, were really nothing to scream about. I had a pizza and the wife enjoyed their meatballs and both were very meh.. But the hero of the whole meal was definately that Caprese Salad, OMG!! I had never had a Caprese Salad that was that good. The tomatoes were great, the cheese, the light homemade pesto, everything was simply divine. If anything we will be returning to this place just for that salad because it was that damm good!

Been here about 20 times since they opened in 2020. The food is authentic, fresh and on point. The owners are active in their customer engagement and deliver excellent customer service. The ambiance is quaint and inviting. The location might not be desirable for lazy folks but there isn't a better Italian restaurant in Carpinteria or Summerland. Highly recommend the pizza if you're dining in. The ganberi spicy shrimp, lasagna and the risotto are delicious.

What a little comfy Italian spot! I came here for pizza as I was killing time for the alpaca farm nearby and was surprised at how good the food was. The place was pretty empty for the first hour of opening on a Sunday but don't let that distract you for how amazing the food is. Bread - Complimentary with some olives in olive oil. Bread was crunchy and buttery. (4.5/5) Fuego Diego - This pizza had a little kick to it from the spicy sausages. Pretty much a supreme pizza with all the awesome toppings. It's delicious. (4.5/5) Lasagna - Best lasagna I've ever had, no joke. I prob had the first batch of the day since I had to wait 30 minutes for it to be done (they told me it would take 30 minutes). Cheese game was on point and everything was just spot on. Top was crispy from the cooked cheese. A must get! (5/5) I'm surprised it wasn't too busy on a Sunday when the food is actually super good. Ofc it's not cheap, a pizza and lasagna cost me about $53. Also there was a small credit card fee ($1.50 for me). Service was comforting and they ended up giving us free chocolate heart desserts that were leftover from Valentine's Day. Worth getting!

    Heavens bites just ok

His didn't arrive until about 10-15 minutes later, and they forgot the bagel entirely. The server dropped the food off and disappeared. His potatoes were completely raw, the food was barely warm, and the corned beef hash had zero crisp to it. He took one bite and spit it out. We sat there waiting forever just to tell someone because no server ever checked back. Eventually another employee dropped off the missing bagel and immediately ran off again. My husband finally had to walk inside himself to tell them the food was cold and undercooked. A few minutes later they brought the same plate back out, clearly just microwaved. The eggs were now rubber, the hash was still awful, and the potatoes were still terrible. He went back inside a second time and told them to forget it and just charge us for the bagel, coffee, and my breakfast. Even getting the check took another 20 minutes. What's most frustrating is that nobody seemed to care. No apology, no urgency, no effort to fix anything properly. My breakfast was mediocre at best. The eggs and bacon were fine, but the French toast was cold and looked like plain toast, and they covered the potatoes in cheese without mentioning it. After reading other recent reviews, it's clear this wasn't just a one-off bad day. The common theme seems to be cold food, long waits, inattentive service, and management/staff who simply don't care. This place is overpriced, overrated, and unfortunately living off its past reputation. Maybe just stick with bagels.

My eggs Benedict came out fully cooked in the middle, so I sent it back because it completely changes the dish when the yolk isn't runny. The mango smoothie was also disappointing -- it tasted like watered down vanilla not mango, especially for a $10 drink. Overall, the experience felt very overpriced for the quality of food we received.

The owner recommended the lasagna when I told him what pasta I should get! I've been to Italy and this was on par with that. Here's a break down of my experience: First of all, we came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. It says on the menu to ask about the daily special, but there weren't any. The waitress told us that on the weekdays, they do not offer daily specials since they do not have seafood on the weekdays; a weekend exclusive is what we were told. Very disappointing. We said it was fine, however, when it came to placing our orders from the menu, the waitress stopped us three times to let us know they were out of certain ingredients like ham and Italian bacon. Most of the food we ordered were not the dish in its complete form. Pasta Amatriciana: The dish I ordered. It did not come with the cured pork Italian bacon as advertised. The dish itself looks visually appealing but it was incredibly mediocre. The sauce was watery and poorly seasoned. Overall, the dish lacked flavor. I rate it as a 1/5. Chicken Vodka Pasta: the dish my mother ordered. Her comments were the same as mine. She notes that the sauce lacked seasoning and she described it as tasteless. Again, another poor dish. She rates it as a 2/5. Chicken Fettuccini: the dish my father ordered. He didn't have that much to say about it other than it being subpar. He rates it as a 2/5. I will say, in terms of pay, the price was fair. For 3 dishes, all of which came with generous portion sizes, totaled to about $62. Overall, I don't see myself returning to Mollie's in the future. They were out of many ingredients which led to mediocre dishes being served. If you wish to come here, I strongly suggest you visit on the weekend since they only serve special/ seafood dishes then. Other than that, Mollie's is a hard pass.
