My wife and I stopped by Thai-Namite for a late Sunday afternoon meal. As appetizers, we ordered Goya and Rice with Peanut Sauce. Goya was tasty, but nothing special (4 Star). My wife thought the Peanut Sauce was thin and somewhat bitter (3 Star). For main meal, I ordered Yellow Curry with shrimp (5 Star) and Wife ordered Chicken Pad-Thai (2 1/2 Star). The Yellow Curry was excellent. Fresh and full of flavors that blended together well. I highly recommend. The wife was not happy with the Chicken Pad-Thai. She thought it tasted sour and lacked flavor. The noodles were overcooked. I took a taste, and although not as unhappy as her, I had to agree. The Chicken Pad-Thai could have been better. Our server was excellent. Friendly and attentive. The interior of Thainamite was remolded earlier this summer, and I really like the new look. clean and inviting. Although the wife was not happy with her meal, I still gave overall four stars as I believe that Thai-Namite is committed to providing good quality food, and the Restaurant adds greatly to the Brady Street Experience. read more

My experience at Thainamite last night was just OK. The service was not great. Our server forgot to take our drink order and then when I asked to order a drink, she straight up never brought it. That was a little bit annoying, but at least they gave us water. The food came out super quickly though, which was nice. My partner ordered the Hawaiian Delight and said it was delicious. I tried a bite and would have to agree. I ordered the Chicken Wrap-A-Pad Thai and it was curious. There was no plain ol' Pad Thai on the menu, so I went with this, which said it would be "wrapped" in a thin omelette. The omelette part was kind of just folded on the side, and didn't add to the dish at all. The egg was cooked well, but it was such an odd way to serve it. The Crab Rangoon was incredible. I had gone to the Thainamite at the Milwaukee Public Market and tried the Crab Rangoon there and it was yummy. But getting it at the restaurant is a lot fresher, hotter, and crispier. The sauce, however, was not good. It bordered on rancid, which was disappointing considering the sauce at the Public Market is always super yummy. One thing to note: The menu says they automatically tack on 20% gratuity for bills over $50 and parties of five or more people. If they're going to do this, they really need to up their game when it comes to service. Also, the restaurant itself didn't feel super clean -- there were two dead flies on the windowsill next to us. Overall, I'd recommend getting Thainamite at the Public Market rather than the Brady Street location. The busyness of the market is preferable over the mediocre service and ambiance of the sit-down restaurant. read more

Thainamite used to be my Thai love affair around 8 years ago. It was where I fell in love with Thai curries and drunken noodles. Milwaukee has SO much to offer in terms of great restaurants that I began going to Thainamite less and less, so my husband and I decided to have a date night here for the nostalgia and, of course, the noods. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Saturday evening and were able to be seated immediately. There were only maybe 3-4 other tables occupied. They had $5 drink specials that included a Mai Thai and a margarita. We both got a Mai Thai and agreed that while it tasted good and went well with the food, you may be disappointed if you were expecting a true Mai Thai from a cocktail bar. We started with the veggie tempura (very happy to see they've added some more veggie-friendly apps to their menu!) and then got an order of veggie drunken noodles and veggie wrap a pad Thai. The tempura was crispy and warm. The dipping sauce it came with was very sweet and may have done better with some balance of sour or spicy notes. Both noodle dishes were also tasty and satisfied our noodle cravings, but, again, both were sweeter than necessary in my opinion. We asked for a chili oil and got the oil plus a shaker of finely ground chili flakes which actually were spicy! They went great with the meal. The wrap a pad Thai is a very unique take on Pad Thai - your noodles come "wrapped" in a thin omelette. I use the word "wrapper" loosely because it's not so much wrapped as it is an omelette folded over in half with noodles inside. But the egg was cooked well and the dish itself was enough for at least two meals. It is important to note that Thainamite is not a late night option. Even on Saturdays, the Brady location closes at 9pm and the Tosa at 8:30pm. Overall, it was a nice dinner and I would go back in a pinch for Thai food, but with my hot sauce or chili oil in one hand to balance out the sweetness from all of the dishes we got! read more

Just ordered 2 spicy Cali rolls. Dragon roll and tempura. I asked specifically NO MAYO on top of the rolls! Both Cali rolls are drenched in mayo on top and have next to zero fish eggs plus it HOT!! The dragon was good but VERY small and the Calis we huge. Funny its usually the other way around. This place used to be good but it has lost its flare. this spot fulfills the thai food craving here in mke !!! the pad see ew is really saucy and i loved how soft the tofu was. the panang curry was also good and was surprisingly kinda spicy considering they didn't ask what spice level we wanted. not a huge fan of the way the rice was cooked tho - it was a little too mushy. crab rangoons were crunchy and dipped well in the plum sauce. service was incredibly quick as well, our food came out like 10-15 mins after we ordered?? i'm intrigued by the sushi menu as well so i guess i will have to come back but i'm not sure how great that'll be at a thai spot read more

This place is a solid choice for thai food in Milwaukee. My friend loved their pad Thai wrapped in an omelette. I had the salmon poke with a thai iced tea which were both great! The restaurant is located on a corner street with Bradley Street. Bradley brings a "Happy to live life" atmosphere with motorcycles and cars driving by, both young and old, with many restaurants. The dishes are Thai and Japanese but with delicious Hawaiian infusion sweetness at times. The servers were on point to serve. The orders came fast and hot; as one can tell, a high-heat wok was used as this was NOT a mass-produced and refrigerated taste. I recommend eating here. I saw couples, grandparents, and young eating here. The windows bring in the light and the life of Bradley Street. I enjoyed dining here and will come again. Enjoy. read more

One of our go to Thai places and we didn't hesitate to recommend this right away when my aunt was visiting and wanted to get some Thai. We came in for dinner last night with my aunt and her son who both live in ChIcago and they couldn't stress enough how awesome the food was. We got the Hawaiian fried rice, the Panang curry (my absolute favorite), two signature rolls and Pad Thai! Let me tell you this is a LOT of food and I usually won't order so much but somehow we ended up ordering a variety of things and between the 4 of us, finished it all! It was delicious. My husband and aunt order the sake Mule cocktail and they both loved it! Milwaukee Roll: The tempura on this roll was not your typical Japanese tempura batter. It was not as crispy and more airy. Overall a tasty roll but would have been better with a real Japanese tempura crunch. Philly Roll: Your standard philly roll but this hardly had any smoke flavor. Spicy Scallop: The scallop was soft and tender and mixed with a spicy mayo. Volcano Shrimp: The shrimp was buterflied and laid on top of a bed of vegetables. I personally did not find this dish spicy. It was very flavorful and had a slight zest from your typical asian house special sauces. Overall, it's a solid lunch spot on Brady street. The pad thai portion was very generous, as well as the fried rice portion. Didn't prefer the egg wrap on the pad Thai, but we just took it off. Best Thai fried rice I've ever had! The volcano chicken wasn't spicy but the breading was pretty good. Chicken was a little on the dry side for our taste. Service was exceptional. We had a very tentative waiter! Only suggestion for improvement of the interior is to move the tables a little farther apart. It felt like we were eating with the people next to us. I ordered delivery from Thainamite one evening after a stressful work day and all I can say is YES! I placed my order on their website as I avoid talking on the phone as much as possible. It was a particularly rough day and I ended up with crab rangoons, a spicy tuna roll, a tempura sweet potato roll, yellow curry with chicken (spicy level 1), and pad thai with beef (spicy level 1)... because why not??!? I am SO happy I ordered such a variety of food as it allowed me to sample everything and have a ton of left overs :) The delivery showed up a few minutes prior to the estimated arrival time and was hot and fresh. Crab rangoons: full of deliciousness, large, highly recommend. Rolls: spicy tuna - my husband's favorite. I liked that they were flooded with the spicy mayo sauce. Tempura sweet potato roll - my favorite, larger in size than I have had from other restaurants and very flavorful. I could eat these everyday! Chicken Yellow Curry: I ordered a level 1, and PHEW I wouldn't have been able to handle much more. Even my husband agreed it was a solid 2 on the 1-3 scale. The chicken was plentiful and cooked perfectly. My normal gripe when ordering curry is you never get enough rice. I don't understand it either, rice is cheap! Beed Pad Thai: DO IT! I normally order chicken everything so I figured I'd try beef and it was a great decision. It may have helped with the spicy. This was my favorite, I loved the sauce and the wide noodles. YUM YUM YUM I would give 5 stars but I was taken aback by the spiciness of the level 1 in the chicken yellow curry, especially compared to the pad thai which was what I would expect from a level 1. It was just a little to much for me, so maybe order a 0.5 if you are hesitant. And not enough rice :( Next time I'll know to order extra. If you are looking for a reliable Thai spot with good food and reasonable prices, Thainamite is the place to go! They have all the staples on their menu and they do them well. I came here for dinner on a weeknight with a friend who orders takeout from here regularly and we got seated very quickly outside which was nice. I tried the green curry with chicken while my friend got the panang curry with tofu. She said she has tried a lot of their different menu items though and they're all pretty good. The spice level was decent although they didn't ask about preference and I would have preferred spicier if given the option. They also took a long time to take our order, but once it was put in our food came out fast and our waitress checked in on how we were doing several times. The dining experience itself was nothing notable, but I did not see the inside of the restaurant so I can't speak for that. Definitely a good takeout option though! Egh. Dunno. It's a solid 3.5. For years I lived a block away and often walked to Thai-namite in my stretchy pants for carry out. Sometimes, I even ordered delivery literally just one block away. No shame in my game. The food here is definitely not bad. It's quite tasty. I can speak highly of numerous appetizers, entrees, soups, salads and sushi rolls. I can't recall ever having an issue with food or service. I can't help but feeling a little less impressed than I used to be those years ago when I was their neighbor. Why? Portion sizes felt small or smaller and not appropriate for prices. When I arrived they had the food ready to go for me and we'll packaged. This is one of those places that takeout doesn't ruin the experience. When I got home my food was still fresh and hot. The crab rangoons were so crispy and had my mouth watering. I ordered the pad prik pao, which I'm so in love with that I can never order anything else when I order from them. We spontaneously decided to stop in after a long day at work. We were pleasantly surprised by the speediness at which our was prepared. The menu itself was rather repetitive, but had a couple great options we were eyeing. Highly recommend the drunken noodles!! A word of warning regarding the spicy levels- they give you 3 levels of spicy you can choose to add to your dish. If you're not set on a spicy meal, opt out because it ramps up quickly. Food is totally worth it for the price, we easily got leftovers for lunch the next day. We like trying something new as often as possible, but I think we will eventually make it back to Thai~namite! read more
