Sticky Rice with Egg Custard
Guest W.

We had the sun-dried beef for appetizer, drunken noodles and red curry for dinner, Sticky Rice egg Custard for dessert. They were all definitely worth going back to Thai Zapo. The flavor of each one was on point, the prices are perfect, the service is exceptional and the decorations were also nice Thai frames. There was a lot of seating available when we arrived.

The staff are very welcoming. It's a cozy spot where the food is authentic and flavorful. I had the lomein noodles with chicken and shrimp. Everything was very tasty and plentiful. My man had the drunken noodles with shrimp and chicken and added broccoli. Tip let them know the spice level because if you don't be prepared to sweat !

Weekly Special: Singapore Noodle for only $14. Vegan options available! ALPHA GAL FRIENDLY!

Was a gem! I never could have guessed Thai Zapp would be so incredibly great. Vegan options for days, all allergies can safely have a meal here. The staff is super informative about their cooking process to alleviate any concerns for those of us with scary food allergies or sensitivities. Clean, beautifully decorated, and most important....AMAZING FOOD. A huge selection, weekly specials and a wonderful, surprisingly robust wine list. This IS the best restaurant in Dunkirk MD.

So I stumbled upon this place while in this area and looking for some tasty Asian cuisine. Upon walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly and welcoming customer service and seated promptly in a booth. I ordered a lemonade, which was extremely delicious and refreshing to have on such a hot day! I also ordered crispy spring rolls as my appetizer! These spring rolls were fried to a delicious crisp, and coupled with the traditional mouthwatering sweet and sour dipping sauce! I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai as my main dish and asked for the flavor profile of "Thai Hot", as I am someone who loves heat! The Pad Thai came out, and my waitress also brought me a spice condiment rack that had different levels of chili to dress my Pad Thai with. The Pad Thai was good, though it could have been a lot better! The Pad Thai was not traditional Pad Thai, as it was missing many of the key elements which I will list below. Recommendations for your Shrimp Pad Thai Dish: - Please cook the rice noodles with Tamarind, this way a key element that the Pad Thai was missing. -There was no lime served with my Pad Thai, and this gives the dish a nice and flavorful zest. -The Pad Thai was not cooked with Peanut Sauce, which is another key element that adds a delicious and rich flavor to the dish! -The Pad Thai rice noodles were not seasoned at all and very bland, I was able to flavor my noodles by adding chili powder/sauce to them. -There were six shrimp in my dish, I have never really paid attention to or counted the amount of shrimp in a dish, but the noodle to shrimp ratio was pretty noticeable. All in all, this is a great business but the food could be much more authentic. Pad Thai is a signature dish of any Thai restaurant, and it should not be missing so many authentic elements. Cheers to good eats!

Butterfly shrimp and pork gyoza

I really wanted to take a drive with the nice weather, and many people have recommended Thai Zapp so we decided to go Friday night to check it out. There were many people when we entered, but they were there for takeout. We sat in and got the butterfly shrimp, pork gyoza, beef pad see ew and pork pad see ew. Everything came out so hot, you could tell it was freshly made as you ordered. if you are looking for a more laid back and quiet dinner full of flavor I highly recommend this place.

WoW 4 stars. First time I went there. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai Medium and Satay. Open my Pad Thai and no sauce? Called he said you ordered dry noodles medium....? Yea okay.... NOT!! Satay wasn't the greatest either!! Ohhh and the Chicken was Dry!! SMH!!

Tom yum soup w/bug

Nice lady the took my order and assisted me at check out. I usually like coming here for my Tom yum soup until I found a bug in it . Was offered for a replacement but after seeing a bug in my soup I just asked for a complete refund.

The foods are great! Casual setting. The service is depending who the server is. Food portion gets smaller and smaller unfortunately.

It was delicious. Try the gyoza. Thai Zapp Noodles were awesome. My hubby loved the mango sticky rice. We'll definitely be back again.

Surprisingly, the food was too bland for our tastes. Carryout order was on time, food was hot, but just underwhelmed.

Oh my goodness.....I wish I had never found this place because now I'm completely addicted!…read more Everything I've ordered has been absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. Since discovering this restaurant, I've ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp seven times, the Pad Thai with shrimp twice, the shrimp lo mein five times, and the fried rice twice. I've also tried the Thai tea and the curry puffs, and every single item has been amazing. The flavors are rich, fresh, and consistently delicious every time I order. It's hard to find a restaurant that's this consistent, but they never disappoint. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I eat here one to three times a week because the food is that good. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Thai food that keeps you coming back, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Just be warned you might end up as hooked as I am!

I've been coming here for years but always got the same thing to go (Pad Thai and Spring rolls), which are good. But man, this seafood medley and Thai Iced Tea were FIRE! Not too sweet, no after taste, nice. I also had a curry potato samosa that was fire as well. The service was great. I've been sleeping on dining in here! If you like a good drink I can also say they have the most extensive drink menu in Waldorf and they know how to give a good pour! Check them out if you haven't yet and fine in if you have the time!

Came here for a dinner with the family. Parking lot located directly in front of the restaurant…read more The dining room has about 10-12 tables and a full bar area as well. The restaurant also appeared very clean. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and came to the table to take our drink orders, then came back for our meals. We were all pretty hungry so we knew what we wanted. I ordered the pad Thai, of course (I've never tried two pad Thai meals that tasted the same). The others in my party ordered lo mein and added beef and shrimp. Our food came within 10 minutes and was very hot. I enjoyed my meal and everyone else enjoyed their food as well. This was a great chill spot for a family meal and we will definitely be back. Kaow Thai was easily accessible for my mom, who uses a wheelchair. We were able to use the wheel ramp in front of the restaurant to get her inside. Accessibility is at the top of our list when deciding where to eat as a family, so I really appreciated that.

Came in on an early mid week evening and we were the only ones there. I really wasn't worried about…read morethat because of all that I have heard about this place. I was sure that the empty tables weren't reflective of food. We were greeted very promptly and with a smile and that service lasted throughout our entire meal. This place is really nice and wide open and has a full bar. It's not a huge restaurant, but also not that small. All of the seating is inside and there is no outside seating offered. The menu is well illustrated, is well written and they have a large variety of specialty dishes on it, as well as offering sushi, and specialty cocktails. We opted for two appetizers, three entrées and a cocktail this visit to share. We got the spring rolls, and chicken satay as an appetizer, crispy basil duck, seafood fried rice and shrimp and beef lo mein as entrées. Everything was served piping hot, fresh and delicious. The crispy duck in especially was just that-super crispy, super flavorful and at first glance I didn't think I would be able to finish the meal, but I absolutely devoured my dish, and that rarely happens when we place an order for multiple entrées and appetizers. I usually have some to go. This time I did not. The crispy basil duck was so good. I just literally couldn't stop eating it. All of the food was good and I cannot wait to come back to try more of it! And to add, but certainly not last in this meal was the Cointreau margarita. It was very, very good. The bartender made an excellent pour.

Rare do you find a place that does two radically different things and does both things equally…read morewell! Carlson's is a staple in Annapolis where you could go in there for a donut at 8am and then come back for lunch and eat Thai at 2pm. If you get a donut I recommend going early they're baked fresh daily and they sell out quickly. I also enjoy the Pad Thai.

Finally had a chance to stop by Carlson's for lunch while in Frederick and, unfortunately, thought…read moreit was just okay. The star here is definitely the donuts. The Thai food, I could have definitely did without. Order up front at the counter and you can either dine in or take it to go. Seems like most decide to take it to go as your meal comes in a to-go container. Note they don't have plates, so if you plan to dine in, you'll have to get creative with sharing the dishes. We decided on the wonton soup, drunken noodles with beef, and fried rice with chicken. The wonton soup wasn't bad and came with a decent amount of wontons (made with minced chicken). Both the noodles and rice dish came with more vegetables than needed. My drunken noodles came with chicken (not beef as ordered) and was more like a stir fry. Also not spicy like the drunken noodles I'm used to. The fried rice was okay, but lacked that fried rice taste. The Thai iced tea was also just okay - super sweet. The donuts were on point - soft, fluffy, not too sweet. Highly recommend these over the Thai food (hopefully it was an office day).
