We decided to try this out today. We were spoiled with good Thai food in CA and needed a taste of home. We were pleasantly surprised with this little gem in Dunkirk. The green curry with chicken was excellent. Perfect amount of spice. My son had the street noodle soup which was one of the best we have had. Hubby had shrimp pad Thai. The flavor was perfect but could use a little more shrimp. I was most impressed by how cheerful and helpful the server was. She made sure we were happy with our order and was nice to make suggestions and answer any questions we might have. I wish I had taken pics. We will be back! read more

Not being from the area but attending Chesapeake Church down the road, I was looking for interesting eats between my 40 minute ride to and from the area. I found this gem in a quiet shopping center sandwiched in between a Safeway and an Autozone. The food is excellent; service was great; pricing was fair - not great; not bad but right down the middle. Portions were reasonable ; well worth a repeat visit. Payment options - they took all forms of plastic so stop by and enjoy the food. Foods: we had ordered many many dishes and appetizers here. Overall, just decent foods, nothing great. I had better Thai foods. Too expensive for the small portions as a whole. Better than the last restaurant. The atmosphere is nicer, feels a little more clean and comfy. Whenever you go here you must get the Thai tea... best thing ever! There were multiple people that would come just to get the Thai tea. I got my Mango Sticky rice and it was very good.. just wish they had a little more of the sweet sauce on top of it. Curry puffs had strong flavor, with nice and puffy outer layer, the sauce that it came with was delicious! This place is great and I will be back again.. and maybe even use their delivery instead. read more

We live 4 miles away and love Thai food but never visited Thai Zapp until tonight. The food was awesome! I got the red duck curry and asked for it spicy. It had a great flavor and lots of meat. We had the wings for appetizer and they were good. My wife had the green curry tofo. She loved it. I tried it and it was yummy. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Mixed review here. The staff need to slow down a bit and make sure they take the call in orders correctly. Been wrong several times. And, of course they blame it on the customer. Secondly, summer rolls are awful. And, when you are out of peanut sauce -- tell the customer, do not use a different sauce with ground up peanuts. It is just not the same. I had drunken noodle, sticky rice, chicken wonton soup, a spring roll, and a Thai tea. It was beyond delicious! Everything was amazing. The portions are bigger then expected and I had enough to share. The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity. This is my third time at Thai Zapp and I plan on returning. For those who like spicy food medium spicy is more like hot spicy. If you don't like spice got with mild or no spice. Sorry no photo. I was excited to dig in. This restaurant was disappointing. I started with the calamari appetizer, which was like something you would expect from Costco's frozen food aisle: all breading, surrounding a desiccated ring of paper-thin, tasteless calamari. It was cooked well, it was crispy, and it was not greasy, but there was hardly any calamari inside. My main course was the green fried rice. This dish was oily. Fried rice doesn't need to be oily. It tasted OK, but would have been much better without so much oil. I will say the service was OK, the staff was friendly, and the portions were generous, but this Thai restaurant does not seem to be an improvement over the previous Thai restaurant, which it replaced. read more

We tried out Thai Zapp on the recommendation of a friend and I'm glad we did. John had the parang curry with beef and I had pad thai with tofu. Both meals were very good and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is in the same location as a previous Thai restaurant; the new owners have remodeled so the atmosphere was very pleasant with nice wide aisles between the tables. 4 star Thai restaurant gets the bump to 5 for being a great Thai place in Calvert County! The food is quite delicious, prices at lunch are very reasonable ($8 entrees), and the service is friendly. We've been 4 times since moving here, including takeout. The spice levels are pretty tame - getting "Spicy" gives some heat while being totally edible, and is probably good for most people; I might try "Thai Spicy" next time to kick it up a notch. read more

My daughter loves this place and she wanted us to order delivery when we were babysitting for her kids this weekend. My wife & I ordered 3 appetizers, three meals and brown rice. Delivery was quick and painless. The price seemed high, but we wanted to try and knew her kids liked it. However, we were very disappointed when we opened the containers. The chicken wings were few, heavily breaded, TINY & came with "ChikfilA" Sirachi sauce; tasted good, but I expected more. Crab Rangoon was fine. Sun dried beef was great, but small portion. Pad Thai was fine & the container was filled. Thai Beef Steak was fine, but the the half-filled container was a huge disappointment for $16. Same with the Brown Rice, fine but the small container was half filled. I'm doubtful that I'll order from there again. We expected more in both quality & portions. read more
