The waiters and waitresses are very welcoming and inviting. They showed effort in wanting to get to know their guests and create a conversation to get comfortable. They offered explanations of the items menu and gave recommendations of their most popular ones. Because of them, we started off with the mango salad, which is a great start to the meal as a mango-fan. Everything else that we ordered, including the roasted duck, the sautéed eggplant and the baked amok was absolutely delicious. I would return to this restaurant again.

We were seated pretty quickly around this time and the waiters/waitresses were really kind and happy to give us recommendations. Ambience: inside of the restaurant itself is pretty elegant and is a on the more aesthetically dark side. Otherwise, not a very noisy restaurant at all and great for tableside conversation. Service: Also great as well! Our waitress (I couldn't catch her name) was amazing and knew the menu well to give us recommendations for the night with a good combination of different types of flavors to try out for the dinner. They had a very well staffed waiter-to-table ratio on a Friday evening for dinner. Food: I really liked the food a lot! I say this as someone who grew up in a Vietnamese household, with some Cambodian dishes from my close relatives. Some of the items that we ordered included: - The Green Mango Salad: which I really, really liked more than I was expecting. - The Phenom Penh Roast Duck: which was really soft and tender (probably the softest duck I've ever had) and was not chewy. One of the few places that I think have gotten duck to my preference. - The Baked Amok: which is a national Cambodian dish and is full of seafood. Also recommend ordering this. - Eggplant with Beef: also a great highlight; while the dish name features the eggplant as the main focus, I think the dish ended up more beef focused more than the eggplant. The only other comment that might be worth mentioning is that it might not have some of the authentic notes of Cambodian food (coming from my Cambodian father)--possibly because some of the authenticity factors are a very acquired taste that many American palates may not find favorable. But as it stands, it's a true Cambodian in America experience that captures the soul more than any place I've ever been. Overall, really great place that I'll be recommending some of my other friends to try out.

Another woman helped me and brought me to the back but there was confusion on where to seat me despite there being open tables. I ended up on a banquet seating against the wall where me and my fried had a small square table on a very weird angle to eat on (corner of table facing us). -twice the same waitress brought things to our table that were not ours. -Staff didn't have knowledge of menu. -I asked for one vodka the woman said ok. I asked another male waiter for the same and he said they did not actually have that brand. -Needs to on top of sweeping bathroom floors. Food -this is very barely Cambodian. -they were out of a main dish and they have a small menu, -shrimp fired rice just was mushy rice with a coconut flavor and some shrimp bits threw in. -dry rub chicken tenders were not bad the acidic sour sauce with it was the most "Cambodian" flavor I had there. Having been to Cambodia and all over SE Asia I have a problem with this being called Cambodian. At best it was a Thai take by people who don't understand balance of salt fat acid and heat. Best thing was the Marvin Gaye music playing. Go to Bong instead.

It's been open several years now less than a 10 minute walk away, and for some reason we just never went back. Well thanks to the storm boxing in our travel distance, we looked closer to home and rediscovered Lula Mae last night - it was fantastic! The vibe is really pleasant, cool-Brooklyn vibe with some of their own takes on it. We hit the happy hour menu hard, getting almost every food item, and also got their Lort Cha (which I remembered liking from 3 years ago). Everything we got was delicious. The Tahini Cabbage Salad was so different than anything we've had! First bite we both kind of looked at each other confused, but by the last bite we were scraping the bottom. Chicken wings (& nuggies) were delicious, as was the Spinach/Artichoke toast. Cocktails (and mocktails) were also very good. Highly recommend! Kicking ourselves for not coming more often the last 3 years. Another note: The Tiger Den (a new Disco Bar they opened?) wasn't open in the back when we were there, but I am curious to check it out.

I've been to Xay's Danbury at least 3 or 4 times. What sets them an apart from all Thai restaurants…read morein Connecticut is the freshness of their ingredients and the tastefulness of their dishes. Admittedly I've never tried their Thai curries so I can't comment. My first trip here was to try the Pho. It was good, but it was on subsequent trips that I explored their Yums. Today I had Nam Khou which was crunchy rice, scallions, cilantro, and Laos sausage pieces served with romaine lettuce leaves on the side of the plate. I took that to mean I should scoop some of the dish into each leaf and it was delightful. While it is supposed to be two peppers hot, according to the menu, it was not but it was very flavorful nonetheless. You can always scoop some black chilli oil on top as they graciously keep condiments at each table. I also tried the summer rolls again. Now my favourite summer rolls used to be the ones in West Hartford with crispy pork and shrimp in them. However, I will say just the plain shrimp ones were wonderful. One nice touches they provide a little espresso spoon in the peanut sauce so you can scoop it's on top of each bite without having to dip and have it fall apart. The CREW was kind of quiet today but I came in mid afternoon so they were catching up on other stuff. However, the service was still great. I almost hate leaving this review because this is like my private spot that no one knows about. That's about to change.

During this time, two more couples arrived. And although we were done, they didn't come by to find out how we were doing. It seemed a little odd, but we patiently waited. Overall, would definitely return because the food was really good. The service, could be better.

Boat noodles has excellent homemade broth and i believe not many thai place sell this dish. Strong aroma from the broth, chewy noodles if you can the the heat it's very addicting. I ended up ordering non spicy and have chilies on the side. The pork is little try. Meatball was good and bouncy. Love this very much overall. Crispy pork belly has very nice dipping sauce comes with it, i can tase the lime and little sweet and sour perfect to pair with the poke belly. Tapioca ball is ok something new to try, it's sweet dish kinda like Chinese mochi balls Pineapple fried rice smells very good the combination of spices, very aromatic Drunken noodles is yummy, the duck meat tend to be dry (beef one is better ) great deal when coming for lunch. Appetizers are small portions, which is great you get to taste little of everything. Fried wonton and fish cake is good, both are not Strong in seasoning but has a perfect dipping sauces. Mango sticky rice is excellent, sticky rice is not very sticky type, i guess it's cooked with pandan leaves, salty coconut sauce not too sweet , I'll get one order by myself next time. They'll only sell it when the mango is good so grab it when u can. Would definitely explore more food next time. Very nice boss lady!

So, when I finally made it home the first day back, I ordered some sushi delivered. What a shock! I have always aid cash and my order was $102 and now they tell me I cannot pay cash but have to put it on a card. then the delivery time was well over an hour. did not recognize the delivery person and he made me pose for a picture holding the food. Well that was not the end of it. We had ordered a shrimp tempura roll and since I do not like the ell sauce that they put on it but my wife does I asked for the sauce on the side like I always do. When I checked the bill they charged me $3 for this! I called and asked what was going on they were very rude and said that if I do not like it, go somewhere else. Wow I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with them and that was their attitude! Well they lost a good customer.as I will never order from them again!
