$5 small Tom Yum soup and $13.99 Basil Beef lunch. Goopy dish, no taste of Basil at all.
    David D.

Clean and nicely decorated space. Friendly service. My Basil Beef lunch was too goopy. Loaded with soy sauce. No taste of basil whatsoever. Tom Yum side soup was OK. Remember when a Thai lunch was under $20 anywhere ? Those days are long gone....

This is our work 'go to' for the lunch special. The service is typically excellent, managing turnovers of tables with expert precision and ease. Having gone for lunch several times, you get to know the drill: Tom yum soup, mini spring roll with sweet dippy sauce, and you choice of a number of value lunch sized options. These options include curries, a heaping portion of Pad Thai, chillie chicken and orange chicken among others. Trying to avoid fried items, I typically order the cashew nut chicken, which is steamed rice, chicken, and guess what? Cashews. Each table also gets a pitcher of water and an option for silver chopsticks for authenticity. The value is exceptional comparitive to other establishments in the area, especially for a sit down lunch. For between 10-12 dollars with a soda, you get table service and a good quality meal.

Ordered Chicken, Got Stiff Cracked Skin, not a single piece of chicken. Not worth the price.

This place is a waste of money. Spent $23 for ginger chicken combo with steam rice and I did not taste a single chicken. Everything is deep fried skin with no actual chicken. The service is nice but the food is cunning.

Thai Villa looks like a takeout joint located inside one of those mega plaza that has super sized every stores... But once you walk in and you will be amazed by the nicely decorated interior with all these authentic Thai deco. Lunch Specials for $8.25 mostly a rice dish but good value as it comes with soup, spring rolls and a drink!... Singapore Laksa ($9.99) as usual caught my eyes. Not surprisingly it is not as good as the ones I had in Singapore. But adding extra sambal sauces does makes it a lot more tastier! Lunch Specials - Beef Curry with Rice does have the heat. The beef was first fried then cooked in the sauce so still tender. The spiciness of this dish made my friend face turned all red and sweating. Eating this definitely good for him because it has so much vegetables inside! The menu here is extensive, maybe just too extensive! As usual is hard to prepare a good version of that many dishes. Talk to the friendly staffs, they will definitely give you some helpful suggestion! 10% Grand Opening discount Free Wifi.. maybe I can hang around here a little longer...

Their green curry with fried fish is to die for, it is so delicious every one at our table kept stealing a bite!

We heard that York Region was going back to stage 2 on Monday, my husband and I wanted to support our local restaurants - a friend that stayed over with us were craving Thai food and we took her to Thai Villa. I'm so happy we came here, after my favorite Thai place closed down in Vaughan - it was such a struggle to find something just as great. We called in for reservations for three - got seated very quickly and the service was just impeccable. My friend Vivien got the Penang curry with beef, my hubby got his laksa soup with chicken and shrimp and I got the green curry with fish. The lady was soooo nice when I couldn't make a decision on the curry and some thai places do not have the fried fish - she recommended the green or nyona curry then we asked about more spices added. We are so used to eating spicier food that she brought us plenty of chilli oil - she was absolutely amazing. All of the food were absolutely delish. My hubby finished all of his soup and noodles, Viv and I were struggling to finish our food and took the rest home. She was so excited to have her leftovers for supper when she went home. She also ordered spring rolls which she demolished completely. The bill for everything came up to a whopping 70ish with tip. THAT IS AMAZING, we got so much food - of course the rice and roti cost extra but the bill was half of what I paid for at my fav restaurant in Vaughan and there was LEFTOVERS! We will definitely be ordering take out from here every time we crave thai food. It is absolutely my fav Thai place in the area! Service was amazing, they were super clean and wore mask - great job guys. Can't wait to come here again! Happy eating fellow yelpers and stay safeeeeeee!

Pad see ew and laksa noodle soup. Both very flavourful!

"Singaporean Chinese Yusheng" by Kiss My Pans…read more What a wonderful way to celebrate Lunar New Year! Tossing Yusheng (Lo Hei) with the girls today for abundance, prosperity, and good relationships felt so special and meaningful. Throughout the incredible feast, we bonded with the host, connected with each other, and shared so many laughs. Honestly, what more could you ask for? We had an absolute blast! Thank you so much to Kiss My Pans for hosting such a fun and memorable event. It truly felt like being invited into your home for a dinner party, where we were warmly welcomed and treated like VIPs. And while every dish was impressive, the chili crab was the star of the night -- absolutely outstanding. The homemade sambal was equally unforgettable and packed with flavour. We came for the Yusheng and left with full hearts and even fuller stomachs!

This place has a nice decor - they really lean into the Singapore theme. They are more expensive…read morethan most Asian places & are proud of it. In general, the flavor for most dishes is correct but not strong enough. Have been here twice & not all the dishes are available now, but I'm putting my review for completeness anyway. They are going to close in early September. There is no table service here & service is functional (they were not rude to me, unlike what some other reviewers report). Tingkat Trio had 3 appetisers: ngoh hiong (meat roll), har cheong gai (deep fried shrimp paste chicken), tauhu goreng (deep fried tofu in a peanut satay sauce) & was served in a pretty tin. The har cheong gai had a pretty strong shrimp paste flavour. It was crispy, juicy & tasty & was moist enough. The ngoh hiong spice mixture was slightly off with too much five spice powder but it was moist & crispy. It was not served with sweet sauce. The water chestnut chunks were very big so the mouth feel was very uneven. Tauhu goreng was decent. The peanut sauce was pretty good. Char kway teow was odd. We could smell the smoky wok flavour (which they say they are very proud of) but there was a slight bitterness to it; there was only wok hey without the foundation or the rest of the flavour profile. The lup cheong was a bit dry. They only used kway teow, not kway teow mee (flat rice noodles mixed with yellow noodles). Hor fun was a mix between Singapore hor fun & wat tan hor; it had more egg & clearer sauce than the former. The noodles were slightly burnt (it was not the good kind of smoky wok flavour). Roasted chicken rice: the chicken skin was quite crispy & it was cut quite big. Both the chicken & rice could be more tender & moister. The first time, the soup was authentic with little flavour. The second time it was tastier than before but tasted a bit off, with a certain heaviness which might be MSG without an underlying flavour. The chili was good. Nasi lemak was decent. There was too much peanut to fish (ikan bilis). The sambal (chili sauce) was quite nice though. The otak-otak (fishcake) was decent but slightly mushy. Beef rendang was.decent. It could be more tender & fragrant. Hokkien Mee was decent. There was no wok hei (smoky wok flavour) but there was lots of crispy lard! Black carrot cake was good - no wonder they have a money back guarantee on this! It was crispy which is better than the usual style. It had quite a bit of radish. The sambal was decent. Milo Dinosaur was so so. It could be more concentrated. Kopi peng (iced coffee) was decent but different from the Singaporean version. It used both evaporated & condensed milk, which was odd. Kuehs were $3.50 each. Kueh salat & kueh bakar were decent though on the dry side. Kueh kosui was good, though one corner was a bit firm.

Looks like a table by the front entrance is reserved for owner admin purposes. Front area filled with good luck paraphilia to ward off evil spirits. My friend knew all the staff and proceeded right away to speak Malay. Let my friend do the ordering, I recognized a few of the dishes such as beef curry, chicken curry (both with roti), boneless chicken rice plate, chicken skewers, grilled sambal stingray, penang hokkien mee and a few other dishes (look at photos) I didn't recognise. There was one interesting dish Rojak, a mixed salad of chopped fruit & vegetables smothered in a pungent fermented shrimp sauce, sweet, tangy, spicy, a whole smorgasbord of flavors dancing on my tongue. Three words I've never used to describe Roti, theirs was crunchy, fluffy and moist, wonderfully dipped either in the beef or chicken curry. Chicken skewers were grilled well, meat remained moist with a nice grilled aftertaste, not necessary to dip into the accompanied curry sauce as the overall flavor stood on its own. The Sambal sting ray was a little disappointing, didn't match the memory of the one I had at the Singaporean hawker food court I had a few years ago. Overall flavor was lacking. Penang Hokkien Mee is the real deal, large plump shrimp w/ firm egg noodles in a somewhat spicy flavorful broth. We came on a Friday night, the restaurant was about 50% full, what a great cultural food experience which needs further support.

Decor isn't really anything to write home about, it's not why we came here. The roti canai was super delicious. Roti was flaky and buttery, the curry nicely spiced and waiting to be sopped up by the roti. The Indonesian fried rice was recommended by the staff and it didn't disappoint. Char Kwei Teow was nice, the wok hei was very apparent here as well as the Kang Kung Belacan (water spinach). The hainanese chicken while tasty was very bony (menu said it had bones). Desserts were a perfect way to end the meal

No. Is it on par with Malay restaurant food here in Toronto. Yes. We had: Nasi lemak with ikan bilis. VERY GOOD! Curry puffs - sinfully delicious. Choice of little spice, medium spice and burn your tongue spicy. Luckily I chose medium spicy which was just about right. Ordered take out, got home, the hot noodles were starting to stick together, quickly separated using my chopsticks. The curry soup stock was placed in a separate round container, still very hot. The fish balls, tofu, chicken, bean sprouts were swimming in delicious hot spicy curry broth. When combined with the noodles I could have sworn I heard angels singing. Super delicious at a surprisingly reasonable price. Life is good.
