Food was excellent! I recently started working in the area and have been hitting up all and any place I can find for lunch. Food is EXCELLENT, prices are great and did I mention that the food was really unbelievable?=) I returned just the other day for take-out dinner...and was equally impressed. Two thumbs up for Thai Station, keep it up!!! I read another couple of reviews and will agree that definitely NOT a place for a large group...very small, but don't avoid it for that just don't show up with a party of 10, keep it your little secret!!! read more

Tried this Thai restaurant last night and it was wonderful! Generous portions and flavorful sauces. For starters we had: tom yum soup, fried calamari, chicken skewers with peanut sauce and lettuce cups. They were all equally amazing. I'd literally go back just for the soup. Then for entrees we had spicy basil chicken, lemongrass shrimp, mixed vegetables, drunken noodles with beef, pineapple coconut fried rice and pan fried noodles. We shared the courses family style and every single one of us enjoyed every one of the entrees. My personal favorite was the lemongrass shrimp and drunken noodles. The server was very nice, she was attentive and brought all our food in a timely manner. I was genuinely impressed with the quality of food. The entree I wasn't exactly wowed by is the fried rice, and I wouldn't recommend their thai iced tea because it's very watered down. Everything else was perfect. read more

The food was horrendous and tasteless. The pork dumplings brought to me exposed with meat and the dumpling cover all broken. Totally unacceptable. Vegetarians: the curry paste they use says it "may contain traces of fish," but anyway they put fish sauce in the curries, so they're pretty much off limits. They're quite flexible though, for example, we've had the asparagus/ mushroom dish but with a different sauce. The pad see yu here is particularly good, as is the mint fried rice and the pad kee mao (drunken noodle). The tofu is moister (less dry) here than at some of the Thai restaurants nearby. The pineapple fried rice is super sweet. Ginger tea is great on a cold day. Fast service, lunch discounts, and delivery available. read more

Enjoyed my lunch at this cozy little Thai restaurant in Merrick. Started with perfectly grilled, very tasty chicken satay which come in four nice sized pieces. They just don't give enough peanut sauce with them. Ordered the Penang curry and it was very flavorful and borderline Thai spicy. My mouth burned for a while afterwards. I ordered take out at this place and the food was just okay. The first time I called, they hang up the phone on me. I called a second time then it took them a long time to place my order. Additionally, I did not like that added service tax they put on my bill. On a positive note, they give a lot of food. The amount should be sufficient for two people or two meals. Being pregnant and craving Pad Thai but to lazy to drive the distance, Ive decided to try this place. The Shumai dumpling was poorly made and the Shrimp Pad Thai was ok. I have had way better or both items. They are cheap (lunch menu) however I won't be going back. Came here with my family and was seated pretty quickly. At the time there was literally one guy catering to every table. For what it was, he did a great job. Shrimp fried rice was really good and so were the drunken noodles. I would definitely definitely go back and plan on it. read more

Coming from Queens, I have high expectations in regards to Thai cuisine, but I have to admit Thai Station is a good option in Merrick, NY. The location is convenient as it is close to the LIRR Station and I think it's fairly priced. My husband and I tried a few dishes, such as the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Fried Rice and while it is not outstanding, it's still a pretty good option. read more

Unfavorable!!!! I love Thai food! And the fact that we have one so close is even better. However, I have not had good service the three times I've gone there to eat. The guy, whom I'm assuming owns the place is lazy if you ask me! poor service by any means! AND, I ordered delivery from them numerous times with having to deal with one of the rudest delivery guys they have! (seriously) It's unfortunate that I will not be eating there any time soon. This was our first time eating Thai food and it was delicious. We were there for lunch and although there was only 1 other diner, the place was busy with take-out orders. My husband had coconut noodles with chicken and shrimp. We didn't know how "hot" Thai food could be and this dish wasn't too spicy. Quite yummy! I had the coconut pineapple fried rice with grilled chicken. Very tasty but not enough chicken. My only other criticism was that the pineapple was canned not fresh. Portions were a bit on the small size as I finished eating my entire meal which I never do. I always take something home, not today. read more

I've been meaning to try Thai Station for months now. There aren't too many thai places in Nassau that I know of but luckily this one is close by. Inside it's pretty tiny, but very cozy. The workers seemed busy (I only saw 1 waitress and 1 guy taking orders/being the host) but were very friendly. They have a pretty wide variety on their menu with typical thai fare options. My items of choice were the Tom Yum Goong Soup and Drunken Noodle with chicken. I wasn't sure what their level of "spicy" meant, so I asked them to amp it up a bit. And wowza, my mouth was on fire. I enjoy spicy, I really do but maybe I need to be somewhat more specific next time. Nonetheless, it was delicious. You can never come to Thai Station and say your food wasn't flavorful. Impossible. That soup was packed with a punch. The layers of flavors and spices were intricate yet melded together perfectly. And the noodles had great texture, pairing with the chicken well. Went there at 2 for lunch... and there were a good group of people in for some Thai. The place is small, and comfy. The food is great! 5 stars to the spring rolls and tum yum soup. Our entrees were good too.. chicken curry was well done.. just too oily though. The food tasted fresh, and there wasn't a long wait at all. The appetizers came out at a good time to when we were served. It's a place to eat as a small group or couple. A very nice place to have your first Thai experience or even go back for more. It's a cute casual place, there's not much decoration... so nothing big. I did notice a bar... so it can be a place for a nice dine and wine night. Just my opinion, but these two don't go that well together. Shrimp was flavorful but the pork tasted like a cheap hotdog. I got the coconut noodles with shrimp and chicken. Initially was going to eat at a different, nearby spot but stopped to look at their menu. The prices were reasonable and that's what drew me in. I started my meal with the shrimp Tom Yum Goong soup. Excellent...the flavor was on point! The chicken satay aka skewers come 4 to an order and were nice sized and juicy. The peanut sauce that accompanied them was good. The spring rolls were hot and crispy and came with Thai sweet sauce. I ordered the beef panang for my entree. The portion was enough for 2 to share! Ended up bringing more than 1/2 of it home. It comes with a choice of white, brown or coconut rice. I chose the coconut rice which was perfectly cooked. My date ordered the seafood soup. The broth was very good. He ordered garlic shrimp for his entree. We were expecting to see 6-7 shrimp surrounded by all veggies. Fooled us...he had shrimp all throughout, even buried under the veggies! He was VERY pleased. His dish was enough for 2 to share as well. We enjoyed sampling each other's food. Why only 3 stars? Their Thai tea...tastes alright but I've had better. The flavor was a bit weak. Also, it's a small, tight fitting dining area. You're literally sitting 3-5 inches away from tables beside and behind you. Not much room for you to go to if someone gets up to leave. Guests and servers have to walk sideways to maneuver past the tables. We went on a Friday night and got there just before the dinner crowd. Service was prompt and courteous!! I come here a lot with friends and family. It's a smaller place and gets pretty crowded. The food is excellent and the choices offered are very good in comparison to other thai places I've been too. I came in on a Saturday afternoon with my friend and we were the only two in the restaurant. The service was good, they weren't too pushy or too neglectful. The restaurant is quiet, cute and cozy and the lights were slightly dimmed. This place would make for a cute date :) For food I got the garlic shrimp meal which came with shiitake mushrooms bamboo shoots and sprouts... It was pretty good. This place is edible, but for certain not somewhere I would go out of my way to get. The price is also a little expensive in my opinion for the average quality of food they serve. I had the red curry with beef, definitely the most mediocre curry I've ever tasted in my life... It's marked as spicy, but to me it just tasted like I was eating bland coconut milk with beef in it with barely any taste of spices in it. Also they give you a large bowl of the curry sauce while the stuff inside (beef, veggies, etc) there's not too much of. The bowl of rice given is small too, so you're just left with a bunch of watery curry sauce in the end. (I would venture to guess that anyone who normally enjoys spicy food won't find anything in this restaurant spicy at all unless you request for more hot oil.) My friend ordered a basil chicken stir fried type of dish. It tasted okay, but we didn't really see any basil leaves in it...? Then we also had pad see ew (stir fried flat noodles), which was pretty good but not made in a way that really makes it much Thai. These two dishes you could order at any other corner store Chinese restaurant for a fraction of the price they charge here. (This restaurant is also owned by Chinese people too, so not surprising I guess.) Overall, I'm just highly disappointed that a Thai restaurant can't make a decent curry. A lot of the other dishes are similar to Chinese cuisine, which you could easily get cheaper at the Chinese take out down the block. This is my favorite Thai restaurant yet! I've been coming here for years and always leave happy! It's a very small cozy place...some may think it's too small because you're basically side by side with other people making it too easy to listen to conversations lol Although I don't mind eating here, I find myself taking out most of the time. I can't really rave about the staff here because I have no complaints but I also don't have any compliments either. They do their job and they do it right, in the end that's all that matters to me. It's food time! Yummmm! I always start with the TOM KHA GAI soup (coconut soup) which is the main reason why I come here. It is the most delicious soup I have ever tasted! I crave it and will go the distance just to have it. I've tried it elsewhere and no one perfects it the way they do. It's spicy, sour, and sweet all at the same time...it'll blow your mind, I promise! Then for an appetizer I love the vegetable dumplings with garlic sauce, fried calamari with a Thai sauce, spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, and the fried shrimp noodles. I have gotten the fresh summer rolls and I did not enjoy them at all, only because it was so bland and just felt like I was eating lettuce. For the entree I've gotten and loved the pad see yu (my favorite), pad thai (I've had better, but still good), coconut fried rice, mint fried rice, and the chicken with green curry. All very full of flavor! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! *just an update-the staff really needs to look a little happier and not have attitudes.
